  • "THAT is infinite, THIS is infinite; From That, This comes. THIS added or removed from THAT, the Infinite remains as Infinite. Om, peace, peace, peace." Inspired by this mantra from the Isha Upanishad, Swami Sarvapriyananda speaks on the nature of Brahman.

    ABOUT VEDANTA
Vedanta is one of the world’s most ancient religious philosophies and one of its broadest. Based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India, Vedanta affirms the oneness of existence, the divinity of the soul, and the harmony of religions.
    ABOUT US
Vedanta Society of New York is affiliated with the Ramakrishna Order of India. In fact, this is the Order's first Center started by Swami Vivekananda, in 1894. It was a historic event, for the seed of the world-wide Ramakrishna Movement was sown here in New York over a century ago. Swami Sarvapriyananda is the present Resident Minister and Spiritual Leader of the Vedanta Society of New York.

Even after hearing Swamiji for over past 2 years, his knowledge nevers ceases to amaze. Astonishingly, at times it's like a well put together advanced level of my own thoughts - which are scattered for me.
Ironically for his every talk I keep thinking that this has to be the most well rounded talk, until he comes up with the next.

Listening to Swami Sarvapriyananda is like continually stepping off a ledge to find there's a new step right below your feet.
As one of the many White Westerners attracted to Buddhist, Daoist, and Vedic insights, Swamiji puts into words so beautifully what our intuition always chanted: this isn't a life of Clouds and Fires, of Rights and Wrongs, Me's and You's, this is a celebration of the Subtle and Undivided.

Swamiji, I have been following your YT lectures since 2014 and I think this lecture seems to be ultimate! Your ability to deal the subject with clarity, taking along the students with you to the heights of Vedanta, is extraordinary! In every discourse, you take your students all the way to 'Consciousness' and park them there for sometime bathed in its light. It's an amazing feeling!

Last two days i was following an Netflix police thriller , so i didn't listen any of swami sarvapriyananda's talk... Usually I do it every single night...
Today I was very restless... And decided to listen any one of his lecture. And i realized... Somehow swamijis lectures, his experience, his wisdom has become my centre... And i feel so comfortable and peacefull, at end of his talks I fall asleep, and no dreams were there... To get up in the morning fresh...
This is new to me, because upto 2022 I was suffering from disturbed ssleep, with lot of dreams, followed by apnoea... .
This is a blessing I got...

      @@sumittete2804
To the majority, the world is REAL
That is, they believe that the materialistic world is the only Reality. That is they believe whatever they are experiencing through their 5 senses as Real
To the inquirer the world is FALSE ( neither Real nor unreal)
That is whatever 1 exps thru 5 senses is that really true? NO. A cube of sugar is like a mountain, too heavy for an ant and is insignificant weight for a human. Human ears can hear only 20Hz to 20K Hz, where as many animals can hear beyond as well. So, whatever sound we hear is it real? Many animals can't see colors at all. Does that mean colors don't exist? We humans also have only a particular spectrum that our eyes can recognize. What about the rest? For a snow leapord snow is not too cold but for a desert leapord, it's killing cold and visa versa. The laws of physics that hold good within earth's gravity doesn't work outside it. You might have puked tasting black Tea or coffee as a kid but at your 40s you may love it? What is your real taste? So, like this everything that you see and exp through your senses are continuously changing and is only relative truth. Somebody's boon is someone else's curse at the same time. So, everything you exp through 5 senses is bound by time and space. That is why it is called as Maya. Maya is Mithya which is neither Real nor Unreal OR it is Real as well as Unreal ! It is like chameleon which say is mud color when it's on soil and green color over a lawn and brown color when on tree bark ! So, it is real that chameleon was in so so color but none of them is the actual or permanent color of chameleon. But it's true that it appeared in those colors but that it keeps changing and that none of them can be considered as the actual color.
Sun has just Rosen in India and the same sun has set in the US ! Both rise and set at the horizon are real and unreal at the same time but are relative by nature, bound by space & time.
But for those very few the UNREAL DOESN'T EXIST. PURNAM DOES, which is the absolute truth
That is for people who know that it is chameleon's camouflage don't consider that as color at all. They know that it is some chemical changes in the body of the chameleon which it uses to create an illusion of color change using the limitation of the viewer's vision or perception ! So, they know that whether red or green or brown is not skin color at all !
For people who are seeing from space station, the sun is neither rising nor setting as there is no horizon at all !
Hope I have explained a bit. Refer works of Swami Rama Tirtha (In the woods of God's realization & others) and Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi for more clarity. "Be as you are", by David God Man and many many more.
      Have a blissful Quest..

Everything that you know of God from religion is just a collage of photographs. Then when You break through. Everything stops within you for a moment. A peace that is more than peace grips you. You totally collapse in a suchness. It's like a feeling that is a living moment that you are. Your everything goes out of you. You are automatically familiar with that without trying. That which is isness gives feeling to the moments when you feel the most complete. It IS an experience with an awareness to it. That it is not an experience but you think it is. It is empty but it holds everything. It is a nothing that contains all things and all of me.

Here, nothing is created nor destroyed. What exists is God. Everything pretending to be created because of the thoughts and when you realise the reality you will understand it. It's great to understand consciousness.

    To the Holy Swami; With ALL DUE RESPECT, in this lecture your teachings about the real and NOT real echo the teaching in a spiritual book I follow for the past 30 years;
“What is real can never be threatened, and what is unreal can never exist, herein lies the peace of God”...A Course in Miracles

I have never felt so addicted and so concentrated in any discourses ever before. I don’t feel bad or small anymore about “ not knowing “ for i increasingly feel confident that knowing is dependent on me alone - it’s just a veil that needs to be removed by sincere discernment! I feel happy I shall get there no matter what! Maharaj Thank you! Thanks to Thakur Ma Swamiji for I get to listen to their thoughts and even receive the interest to reflect upon your words 💐
