So far this has solved my heat warping and annoying rubbing issues after extensive use in descent.

Hey there, Tobias. Have you ever heard of a cable-actuated disk brake system called Growtac Equal? Apparently it is a Japanese brand. I wonder if you've ever seen it on gravel bikes (I think it appeals to the randonneur style) and if so can shed some light on cable vs hydraulic in general. I do understand that hydro is supposed to have more modulation, but is the system lighter as well?

Not heard of it no. Hydro hoses are much lighter than inner wires and houseing. You might save a few grams on the shifters, but over all I don't think you save much weight for the system (Di2)
Personally I never go for mechanical over hydro no matter the weight.

IF they don't warp anymore I'll take the 4 grams added weight.

Hold on, I thought that shimano intentially made their rotors "not hollow" for safety reasons. I spoke to race director one day and he told me, that shimano made them this way for safety, so riders can't get their fingers cut off

They did for 9100/8000. The only thing they said about these new ones is that they are ticker and less likely to warp. No reason for the filled in part leaving was given. Pro teams had been using xtr rotors because they preferred them before these came out for what that’s worth. The guy who makes tri rig said he’s tested the filled in rotors to be more aero.

they at least feel less vulnerable to crosswinds due to this new design.
