컨실러로 밝혀주는게 이해가 안된다니,,,,저도 어두운 피부인데 젤라언니 영상보고 컨실러로 밝혀주는데 어느 날은 까먹고 컨실러를 못해서 완전 칙칙해보이고 그랬어요 ㅜㅜ 확실히 컨실러로 밝혀주는 게 짱짱!!
되게 예쁘시고 스타일링도 잘하셔서 얼마 전에 발견한 뒤로 자주 보는데, 영어댓글을 보다보면 참 모순된 발언들이 많네요. 대부분의 한국인을 내츄럴스킨이 아닌 white-washed 라며 비판하면서, 젤라님의 아름다운 tan 스킨에는 칭송하는 모습.. 심지어 아시아인의 피부톤은 본래 거의 이렇다고 믿는다는 그 수 많은 지역의 아시아인을 하나로 퉁치는 몰상식한 댓글까지.. 정작 한국분들 댓글은 딱히 피부색에만 집중하거나 구애받지 않고 젤라님 그 자체의 아름다움을 이야기하는 경우가 많은데. 결국 그들도 자신의 시각에서 벗어나지 못한다는걸 알면 좋을텐데.
저도 이걸 어떻게 설명해야 그들이 이해할지 너무 고민하고 있어요😭

This is so helpful. especially for those who are into korean type makeup but are on the darker side. most korean makeup tutorials are exclusive only for thos who have really pale skin. this kinda changes the korean makeup game. this is so awesome. you're so pretty omgee.
ps. i study with koreans so i kinda know their makeup style and they share it with me, but im kindof on the darker side so it never really matched me. so this is such a cool video. 😻😻😻

어울리지 않는데도 무조건 하얗게 메이크업 하는 분들보다 훨씬 개성있어보여요! 피부색에 맞춰서 하면 더 예쁠 것을 너무 하얗게 해서 부자연스러워 보이는 몇몇 분들도 있는데, 젤라님은 유행이고 뭐고 따지지 않고 정말 어울리고 잘 맞는 화장법을 찾으신 것 같아서.. 그런 개성있는 모습이 부럽기도 하고, 그냥 단순히 너무 예쁘기도 하네요.

Not a lot of Koreans do that, they tend to make themselves 3 shades lighter. elisabeth balde if she were naturally tan then it'd be great. But since its fake it makes her look silly. Like she's using the darker tone for attention only. There's numerous ways to go against Korean beauty standards, prancing around in someone else's skin tone ain't one of them.

원래부터 동아시아엔 왠만한 백인만큼 하얀 동양인이 많고, 흰피부를 선호하는건 백인의 붉고 주근깨있는 피부가 아닌 잡티없이 깔끔하고 맑은 피부를 선호하는것인데 말이죠ㅋㅋ
흰피부 선호하는 것도 실외 노동이 적은 귀족계층의 피부를 선호하던, 백인과 접촉하기 전부터의 일이고요.

Same here. Korean beauty standards make you feel like you can’t be cute and youthful when you have tanner skin. But it’s nice to see some other Korean beauty gurus admiring tan skin. It’s rare.

its 2020, south korea is a democratic society and we respect each individuals' rights and freedom. Jella mentioned that she was teased and bullied because of her dark skin tone when she was young. She first got into tanning because her boyfriend (now husband) recommended it. (Her boyfriend used to play baseball, and because he would have uneven tan lines he started getting tanning done as well, and that's why he recommended it to her when she mentioned that her dark-but-not-too-dark-ish skin tone was her complex) After tanning she started recieving compliments. She had hated her dark skin tone as a child but learned to love it after tanning it more. She has left several youtube comments regarding her skin tone, why it is darker than most koreans and why she prefers her dark skin. I've been seeing many comments lately that she is a racist, and the videos she is uploading are insensitive and rude. However you guys need to understand that she has her own story behind it. If you don't like her content, and you don't like her dark skin, just skip her video. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all. Everyone has their own story and it is not in your place to judge them about it. She is currently pregnant and under a lot of stress, but even under these conditions she filmed a video and uploaded it because it is her passion and she wants to better for her fans. Please be more understanding and stop the hate comments. And before anyone says that she is wearing her skintone as fashion, no she is not. She is not saying that tan or dark skin is more superior, nor is she committing "blackface". She has always had naturally dark skin, especially compared to the general korean society where pale skin is seen as more desireable. She's not trying to be "black" by recieving artificial tanning, she has come to terms with her dark skin tone and come to love it because of that. She didn't try to be a different race through the tanning. There are plenty of celebrities that are known to get tans and they do it for purely cosmetic reasons. Jella should not be thrown under the bus for this. In fact isn't it even reverse racism, for you calling her out for "trying to be black" just because of her dark skin? Isn't that because you have the preexisting stereotype that Korean people are pale?
