First time I'd heart Yvonne Elliman was on the _Jesus Christ, Superstar_ album, and her performance hit me down deep, I was like "who IS this!?" Loved that voice, and so when she reappeared in '77 with this song and "Love me Please" I was all over it. She's had a rough time recently and saddens me to see it, because it didn't have to be that way; but we all make poor decisions at times and it's only the resilient who get back up after falling down. Hope she's better....
I'm the exact same way. 🤣 My friends call me granny and I'll be 30 this year. The 70's was an amazing era for their music, clothing & hairstyle, and films. Yes, they had a lot of crazy and depressing things going on in the world and politics but everything else seemed to have made up for it.
EPIC I was very young when Saturday night fever was on the Big screen. My older brother and I used to dance to this I was11 and he 14. Memories of my youth 💃🏻🎤🎶🎼
@@damianbrink5081 Of course you know, the "Saturday Night Fever" album won the Grammy for 1976, Best Album of the Year, beating out the "Star Wars" album; I watched the Grammys. in 1977. But the "Star Wars" album did win at least two Grammys then anyway, I forgot what for.

Oooh - the days of the 70's - Wow. The music, afros, platform shoes, polyester vibrant clothing, 8 tracks, wine coolers, funky dances 💃🕺, bell bottoms, black movies, ( Shaft, Superfly etc), oooh yea the muscle cars and the cadillac fleetwood. etc. We would walk around saying "Diamond in the back, sunroof top, digging the scene with a gangster lean - hoo hoo.👍. Definitely miss the 70's - can we turn back the clocks🕛 of time😊
I’m a junior right now in high school and love this type of music!! While we may not live the same life as those did in 70s, the music still lives on for many generations!!
BORN IN 66, A KID DURING THE SUPER 70'S, AND A TEEN DURING THE AWESOME 80'S. IT WAS A GREAT TIME TO GROW UP WITHOUT A CARE IN THE WORLD. CLASS OF ROCKIN 84 HERE. ROCK ON DL!!!.
In my experience, the music people think is the best is the stuff that was popular between their ages of 14 and 23 - in short, high school and college. :-) But objectively, I really do think that the music that came out between about 1976 and 1991 is some of the best music ever. Evaluated in terms of songwriting, lyric writing, arranging and producing... It *is* possible to evaluate music objectively.
A disco music dos anos 70 criava uma magia na alma. Você podia ser malucão, mas o ritmo, as letras da canção lhe mostravam que haviam coisas boas a serem compartilhadas com o seu vizinho. A música atual não tem mais a mesma magia que antes.
I Love listening to Yvonne Ellinan. I also remember her singing some of her hit songs on American Bandstand. I miss that show and Dick Clark May he RIP 🙏 🎉
‘77 Can’t believe this is the same year I graduated from HS; Omg where has the time gone? What a beautiful singer, I’ve never seen her but loved the song, so sad lyrically though…♥️…

Chris Pitrakkos : I understand where you are coming from but it depends on what music you are listening to because you still have good female artists nowadays in the music industry that sing with their hearts, guts and souls except you don't find so many of them in the present mainstream music. If you listen to music and songs performed by Alicia Keys, Mary J.Blige, Jill Scoot, India Arie, Erykah Badu, Janelle Monáe or even Adele you will surely change your mind ;-).
Mouha Mehawel, yes i agree, i love adel's music and some other artists, like this song, awesome, we all love music, but really there are some guys that don't fit some songs that try to sing originals, then we have some that do better than originals, but thx for msg, keep well.
Unforgettable moments... wonderful times, the sixties and seventies... quality music... times when everything was much more relaxed. Big contrast to today's society...! Yvonne Elliman... pure youth sentiment...!
because this song was written by the Bee gees, but not for her. back in those days, you only got what was given to you. A lot of nepotism etc...shes an incredible singer
This is such a great classic song, I was born in '82 and I like 80's music and 60's as well but in my opinion the 70's is the best, it had it all from rock & roll to disco to r&b and funk, I wish someone would invent a time machine so that I could experience first hand what the 70's was like and from what my parents told me it was a blast!
Roseline Tan I went from liken Partridge Family songs to 70s RocknRoll, It all started at age 12 seeing Rolling Stones with 80.000 fans. Snowy Buffalo,NY in 70s80s had 10 years of concerts 4 every summer at Bills Stadium. They had big time bands Led Zepplin, The Who, Bob Seager, Alice Cooper, Allman Brothers, Bad Company, Grateful Dead, Doobie Brothers. It was crazy at some concerts cause lack of security. It does suck Buffalo has a bad rap for our snow. We do get 10 feet some winters. Were also known as a drinking town lots of Irish in Buffalo. New York Taxes are crazy. 1 pack of cigarettes is $10.00. 1 good thing having Canada as a neighbor is cool. Buffalo is lucky Niagara Falls is close for Tourists
I am 55, and remember this song from the movie Saturday Night Fever (It was sung in the background when Tony sits in the nudy bar talking with Anette). I began to love this song, when i heard it on the LP soundtrack of the movie. Since then, if i hear this song, i always remember the `70`s as the good and simple times. I mean, we`ve been there. We can talk about that time. This song is for me a more nostalgia. Wish we could go back..👍👍

I'm the exact same way. 🤣 My friends call me granny and I'll be 30 this year. The 70's was an amazing era for their music, clothing & hairstyle, and films. Yes, they had a lot of crazy and depressing things going on in the world and politics but everything else seemed to have made up for it.
There is no comparison between this and the slop of today. The 70's were amazing.
You got that right!
The most beautiful song from "Saturday Night Fever"
The most beautiful saturday night fever song is How deep is your love. But this one is pretty good too
@@damianbrink5081 Saturday night fever is my favorite album. And great disco times!
@@edekdolata2698 I agree
EPIC
I was very young when Saturday night fever was on the Big screen.

I'm so blessed to have been around when this song came out. It was so nice growing up in the 70s.
I was single digits old myself … I truly miss that time 😎
I was born 70 and this was a classic xx
Music is not music anymore. Electric garbage. No one plays instruments. No one talks about how bad music is now.
BORN IN 66 AND A KID DURING THE SUPER 70'S. 1000% AGREED. WHAT A GREAT TIME TO BE A KID GROWING UP WITHOUT A CARE IN THE WORLD. CLASS OF ROCKIN 84 HERE!!.

Music that never dies
Need to find a time machine and take us back to 70's and 80's truly the best time of my life,,,
Wooooow I'm amazed how a song can bring back so many memories from way back in my childhood 😊💖
Definitely miss the 70's - can we turn back the clocks🕛 of time😊
I was a junior in high school when this song came out and I wished the kids now could have the music and the life that we had back in the seventies.
got that right
Big up your chest so true what you said one love from tp
I’m a junior right now in high school and love this type of music!! While we may not live the same life as those did in 70s, the music still lives on for many generations!!

What a great song..and this lady can sing. .❤❤ Great love / disco ...feel .🌈
I am 72 and was a cop during the Disco Era. I worked the Disco clubs off duty. I had a ball. Love Disco and love this song even today
Anybody else miss the 70's, the music was the best!
Johnny Craven OMG please don't leave me out my era so damn happy! ! UTUBE IS MY TIME MACHINE LMAO
Louise Hampton Truth to be told AMEN! !
Johnny Craven miss 70s and all the great groups
big time.
In my experience, the music people think is the best is the stuff that was popular between their ages of 14 and 23 - in short, high school and college. :-)
But objectively, I really do think that the music that came out between about 1976 and 1991 is some of the best music ever. Evaluated in terms of songwriting, lyric writing, arranging and producing... It *is* possible to evaluate music objectively.
I think the 70s had the best music of all time.
I prefer music from 60,s 70,s & 80s to today's rubbish music.
I agree with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and the 50's.
Me too i think so !
I agree, 70s was the best.
Back when a person had to SING! Nothing but TALENT!! Love it even today.
dancing to this at the BBC disco in Chicago, great memories
Love this song still as much as I did in the 70's when life was so much easier and more worth living than today....
A disco music dos anos 70 criava uma magia na alma. Você podia ser malucão, mas o ritmo, as letras da canção lhe mostravam que haviam coisas boas a serem compartilhadas com o seu vizinho. A música atual não tem mais a mesma magia que antes.
You took the words right outa my mouth
As a 70s baby 1970 this is literally one of my first favorite songs in life
I Love listening to Yvonne Ellinan. I also remember her singing some of her hit songs on American Bandstand. I miss that show and Dick Clark May he RIP 🙏 🎉
I’m also 55 and I love this one. Amazing song.
This song will never get old. What a Classic !!!!

i agree, no music can top the 50's, 60's,70's and tne 80's music. They sang within inside them, heart, soul and mind, today it is trash
True
what about the 90s? :(

A beautiful woman with a magical voice and presence! How did this woman not have more hits?
FYI, she portrayed Mary Magdalene in the rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar" if you want to hear more of her singing!

Tenía exactamente 7 años cuando escuché esa canción. Como olvidar esos excelente años de mi infancia. Desearía retroceder el tiempo. 👍👏👏💪💪🇵🇦🇵🇦🇵🇦

Roseline Tan , ivone she is really magic
