Largos are slimes that have eaten a plort of another's type and became a "large" slime that now gives plorts from both types and Tars are made by a Largo eating a 3rd type of plort. You can get rid of them with water (you'll unlock a water gun) and feeding a slime their favorite food will produce double plorts. Also the pens can have higher walls and a roof to keep the slime contained better. I hope this helps! Cheers!

@@HH-lo7jw Yeah when I played the first game I would always combine the carnivore slimes with the herbivore slimes so that everyone could be fed by growing food rather than relying on chickens that reproduce slowly.

It's so funny seeing someone play this for the first time and be absolutely clueless to what's going on. Anyways, here's some helpful tips: If a slime eats a plort that it does not produce it turns into a largo (pronounced lar-goh). A largo produces the plort it originally produced and the plort it ate. Largos can also eat anything their "parents" can. Largos are too big to be vacuumed, and will instead get stuck at the nozzle of your vacpack. If a largo eats a plort that it does not produce it turns into a dangerous Tarr slime. Tarr slimes are very weak to water and light and are also too big too be vacuumed. Some slimes only come out at night and disappear during the day. In order to ranch these slimes you have to keep them in a corral with the solar shield upgrade or in an area without sunlight. The puddle slime requires a pond to produce plorts. Puddle slimes are also very shy and if there are too many puddle slimes in a single pond they will stop producing plorts. Gordo slimes are exceptionally big slimes that can't move. If you feed a gordo enough of it's favored food type it'll explode into a bunch of slimes and unlock a teleporter to a new area. There are incredibly rare slimes called lucky and golden slimes which cannot be vacuumed. The less rare lucky slime will shoot upward and give you money when you feed it it's preferred food. The much rarer gold slime will disappear and leave behind a singe gold plort when it is struck with any food except for it's preferred food. If you hit a gold slime with it's preferred food it will leave behind 5 gold plorts instead. Every slime has a favorite food that will make it produce double the amount of plorts. Some slimes need darkness or they disappear, (phosphor and probably batty slimes) which can be fulfilled by caves, one of the corral upgrades, or night time
I've just started myself. I am on day 52 and I have practically maxed out everything. I've found all the treasure pods, fed all largo's openened all locked doors, filled out the map, foudn every robot drone (twice cus plot) and combined all slimes. Just kinda waiting for some NPC gifts to drop (specifically the market link) so I can speed up my ranch process. At this moment just tending to th ranch takes me from 06:00 to 15:00. Would like to see this reduced to 13-ish with the market links. Really hope they do fix the odd onion growth rate. I have 3 farms growing odd onions to top of a single farm with crystal slimes. Me: "Oh hah, he doesn't understand slimes combining into largos, but he just stuck everything in one pen so it happened anyway." RCE: Collects a third type of slime. Me: "Oh no..." Also you can buy a roof for your pens, the 'air net.' It can be temporarily broken if it gets hits too often, usually when slimes get angry from hunger they jump more often. The high walls keep most bounces from reaching the roof though, so as long as they're well fed they won't ever break the high-wall/air net combo.

Turn your slimes in to Largos in order to maximize profit… they will produce both types of pliers and change the diet of the slimes according to the combo you make 4. Try to space out the selling of each individual pliers because the more often you sell one type of pliers the lower value it has on the market 5. Build multiple gardens, coops, and such so you have multiple food sources for your slimes 6. Check out the basement… you can build upgrades like larger storage, more vac slots and a jet pack 7. Phosphers and ringtails don’t like sunlight… make sure to build a solar shield for them 8. It is definitely more profitable to create a largo of two slimes and feel them a food at least one of them loves so they produce twice as many plorts as well as the two different kinds of plorts based on the slimes, that way you can have two corals with an output of four (4) different plorts that you can sell Air nets are your friend, they're very useful for keeping largos in and roaming slimes out! Phosphorus slimes require sun protection, there's an upgrade for that Puddle and fire slimes are special, they require a pond or incinerator respectively, they only eat water or ash respectively, and both them and the plorts they produce will evaporate if they are left out of their environment, they're hard to keep multiple of but their plorts usually sell for more on average than most others. Puddle slimes are described as shy so don't usually like being in big groups. You have to burn food at an incinerator to create ash for fire slimes to eat Some slimes can be harmful (as you've discovered) but as long as you stay out of their way you're usually fine... Unless they're feral... (They have menacing faces and a red aura) I want to note I haven't played SR2 but I have completed the first slime rancher, I don't know how much of the information I learned from the first game is still applicable in this second game but I hope it's helpful

You should check the slime encyclopedia. Each species of slime has a favorite food and if you feed it that food you get two plorts instead of one. Many slimes also have specific challenges or needs, for example phosphor slimes disappear in sunlight unless they’re kept in a corral with a solar shield installed. When a slime eats a plort of another species slime it creates a hybrid slime called a Largo. Largos inherit the traits of both parent slimes, for example a largo has the diets and favorite foods of both parents, and phosphor largos all vanish in the sunlight like pure phosphors. Strategically I like to mix slimes that have difficult to raise favorite foods (usually chickens) or completely lack favorite foods with slimes that have easy to raise favorites (fruit or vegetables), Largos that are fed one of their favorite foods produce 4 plorts, 2 from each parent variety so they’re very efficient. For example the heart beet you found is the favorite food of rock slimes, so growing a garden of them is a good idea if you’re raising rock slimes and their largos. You should also look around the conservatory, there’s a set of stairs leading down to a laboratory where you can craft upgrades for yourself.
There are a type called golden slimes they are very rare and once you spot them don’t suck them up ( cause you can’t) just throw something from your inventory and hit them and they will drop a golden plort (worth around 400).
MATT!!!!! You can kill the tar slimes by putting them in water Edit: you can buy an air net to cap off the taller corrals so slimes can't escape and the glowing smiles need a shaded corral
You can make a farm of veggie/fruit since it harvest everyday Each slime have different diet/food and since meat dont harvest much, you can combine slime that eat meat to the one that eat veggie/fruit so you have easier access to food supply And also, when slime got hungry they tend to be aggresive such as jumping higher, charge straight into you, or straight up explode
If they jump that high, how am I supposed to contain them... Moments later skips right over a containment net that prevents them from escaping. Edit: typo
YOO the first one was my favorite game in 2016. I played the heck out of it. I might get this new one at some point. I wonder what they changed from the original.
considering my parents wont let me join the membership best i can do to support is like, subscribe, and watch the videos which i will do because i like to watch this channel everyday, which lucky for me he posts everyday unless something happens
Get highwalls and airnet that will keep the slimes in no matter what kind they are. Some slimes can only survive at night (tar slimes can survive day or night only killed via watergun or it thrown off into the ocean) the phosphorus slime for example so you need to get the upgrade that protects them from sunlight. The speaker upgrade calms the slimes so if they are feed they are not as aggressive. The pond are for slimes like the puddle slime that can't survive outside of water you can also use it to refill your water gun. If this is like the first one there sood be a trading post that if you give the requested items food, plorts, slimes it will give you coins, food, slimes, ect.
I am a god, I literally was playing this and thinking mm matt will play this and do a bridge review and all of a sudden I go on RUclips and boom he's playing slime rancher 2
LMAO my solution to unwanted slimes in the original was to dump them into the sea as well. don't feel bad though. the lore tells you that's actually a normal part of their life cycle
when slimes fall into the slime sea, they don't die, they just become part of a larger mass of slime and separate out again later. that's the in universe reason for slimes respawning around the map :)
Dont sell something very expensive save it up so the prices dont go down after selling them and going to the next day because if they have soo many they will lower prices but they can only lower and refresh after 1 day that is why it said market loading and maybe use a silo to store them
Largos are slimes that have eaten a plort of another's type and became a "large" slime that now gives plorts from both types and Tars are made by a Largo eating a 3rd type of plort.
MATT!!!!! You can kill the tar slimes by putting them in water
Edit: you can buy an air net to cap off the taller corrals so slimes can't escape and the glowing smiles need a shaded corral
You can make a farm of veggie/fruit since it harvest everyday
Each slime have different diet/food and since meat dont harvest much, you can combine slime that eat meat to the one that eat veggie/fruit so you have easier access to food supply
And also, when slime got hungry they tend to be aggresive such as jumping higher, charge straight into you, or straight up explode
You should try a game called "dig or die," you have to make a bridge at one point, and avoid for it to fall down on its own weight.
Love the new avatar in the thumbnail! And: Slimes! Plorts! Cuteness Overload!
If they jump that high, how am I supposed to contain them... Moments later skips right over a containment net that prevents them from escaping.
Edit: typo
Matt, you are insatiable. What would a 10/10 bridge review require? Is it even possible to aquire such a feat?
YOO the first one was my favorite game in 2016. I played the heck out of it.
I might get this new one at some point. I wonder what they changed from the original.
considering my parents wont let me join the membership best i can do to support is like, subscribe, and watch the videos
which i will do because i like to watch this channel everyday, which lucky for me he posts everyday unless something happens
2:15 Those pink slimes MUST be engineers because an architect couldn't have come up with such a strong looking tower
No safety rail on the bridge and 8.2/10? You were distracted by shining of rainbow grass I believe.
I am a god, I literally was playing this and thinking mm matt will play this and do a bridge review and all of a sudden I go on RUclips and boom he's playing slime rancher 2
Very nice bridge. Hey RCE, what bridge would reach a 10/10 in your oppinion?
Try upgrading the corrals w. Nets so no slimes jump out. Also some slime need a dark/lunar corral to survive since they can only appear at night.
This must be a new Mandela effect because I swear I've seen a previous video of you playing this game (or maybe the first version)
I feel like you maybe should have played the first slime Rancher as that one gives a tutorial
Matt, I think you should play minecraft. Tons of engineer things involved in the game.
LMAO my solution to unwanted slimes in the original was to dump them into the sea as well. don't feel bad though. the lore tells you that's actually a normal part of their life cycle
haha i knew that tarr's would be an issue first playthrough for him. but also sad he didn't investigate the basement for the gadgets he could build.
2:12 the slimes have the brain of an Engineer!!!
Which means the Architects have been Defeated(Almost)
when slimes fall into the slime sea, they don't die, they just become part of a larger mass of slime and separate out again later. that's the in universe reason for slimes respawning around the map :)
The first slime rancher was great I remember watching jacksepticeye play and I played it a bit later when it was free on xbox
If you don't upload a new episode of this game in 10 minutes and 58 seconds i'm coming to take paddy >:)
Dont sell something very expensive save it up so the prices dont go down after selling them and going to the next day because if they have soo many they will lower prices but they can only lower and refresh after 1 day that is why it said market loading and maybe use a silo to store them
The largos DroP 2x plorts you can give them plorts but dont give 3 cu they become tar than
All this talk of "feets of engineering".... wouldn't it be better if they used their hands? :P
Just toured some architecture colleges this week 😈. I’ll be an architecture student soon
Segregate different types of slime pink bunnies mixed with regular bunnies is bad
I was just playing Timberborn and if you start a new series the strongest map is Meander, just saying.
Invest in the air nets as soon as possible and you’ll have an easier time containing them
I guess the small slimes combine together to become their fusion, like that pink and rabbit slime....
Tarr slimes take damage from water (at some point youll most likely be able to unlock an upgrade to spray water at them like in the first game)
It’s best to cross breed your slims with a max of 2 slimes mixed together and than you want to put a roof on your slimes habits so they don’t escape
its weird cos I kept making Batty Slimes after getting Salmonella In Bolivia
Me: ignores me: ignores me: realizing its rce. Me: reLizing u stole thumbnail
Hmm I'm not sure whether it's worth playing this if I played the first game...
Deffinitly should have played slime rancher one before playing 2 now your gonna be out of the loop
Spent 5 hours playing this game yesterday. Just to play a game of chores.
