We went there back in August and it was amazing! We didn't feel like tourist. They treated us like family. Then after dinner we walked over to the boats and went on a dolphin tour. This is a great location!
Get the Botanna Platter if you are a family of 4-5. We get the fish and shrimp with fries and onion rings. You absolutely can't go wrong. This place is not just a restaurant to us, it's a family tradition.
“That’s a slippery slope now days” 😂😂😂
Hmmm.. think I’ll drive an hour and have lunch there later today. One of the few perks of living in the Valley 😄Thanks for the video!
One of the many perks
Well ?
@@westsideoutlaw956 there’s tons to do here but being from McAllen it’s tough to stay entertained
@@matthewtoddsr.6743 well what exactly?
@@roberttrevino5058 did you get lunch there how was it
Time for a road trip.. McAllen to the Island. I enjoy lunch at Dirty Al's Pelican Station...beautiful view of the causeway...bay.
We did Dirty Al's SPI 2 days ago. Think I like Pelican Station better too, More choices
I did not know he was the owner, last time I went he was tending the bar.. good job mr Al
I ate at Dirty Al's six weeks ago. Came from Colorado and it was the best fish and shrimp I've ever ate. Next we went to Pier 19 (RIP, burnt down this past week). Huge difference in the freshness. Dirty Al's is number one in my book!!
I immediately thought of the “Blood in Blood out movie “ 😂
I like Texas bucket list videos on RUclips from the imperial county California 👍👍🖐️🇺🇲
I remember when I was a kid and my family lived in Rio Hondo, we would go to the beach and the sand dunes were so big. The food is awesome and you can't get it any fresher than right out of the Gulf.
Love Texas Bucket List! Love Dirty Al's!! LOVE SPI!!!! Spent a lot of time there this year. Will do it again for sure.
You always find the best places.............thanks
This reminds me of a place we have in Pensacola...Joe Patti's. It's a family run seafood industry with their own boats, show cases & restaurant. Their seafood comes fresh from the Gulf too. Nothing like fresh seafood.
I love eating at Dirty Joe Patti's
Paradise Isle in Pensacola is the place to be
I don't usually eat seafood, but I will if I feel it's properly cleaned, cooked & seasoned, like this place
I’m coming over. Yummmm! Bravo!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
By far the funniest clip you guys have uploaded so far!
I'm awake very early to see this!!!!!Christmas came early!!!!!!
Known the man since I was 13yrs old! Good man and sons...great people!
I met the owner but at his other Restaurant.. PELICAN BAY IN PORT ISABEL.. very nice guy... And great chain of restaruant.. 🙏
Then we’re talking about two different people he treats he’s workers like animals their not allowed to buy food there or even a lunch break so not nice at all
My tio restaurant and he a nice person
@@zuecatsy4081 he a nice person he’s my tio
Great video!!! ❤️❤️
This place has the best local seafood! You can’t go wrong here!
Went there a week ago! Delicious!
I've been going down to SPI for over 40 years and I'm there right now. I could not imagine coming down here and not going to Al's at least twice. It wouldn't be a trip to SPI without at least a couple stops at Al's.
I am flying into Brownsville . I know there’s an airport shuttle but I’ll prob rent a car. I’m not sure where to go. Where’s best place to go to beach? Where is dirty Al’s? Is it all close together? Might consider a boat ride. Just trying to maximize my two days and have it kind of planned out
You know what’s interesting we were in south padre back in March for vacation. We did the dolphin tour which is right next door. Never thought cross never crossed our minds to go there.
Great food at Als, It's too bad South Padre island been hit do many times. Great place to stay. Love this place great little vacation
Great Commentary!🦐🐟🐚
Ate here today based off this video, was great 👍🏻, thanks for the recommendation.
Very delicious food I was there loved 😍😍😋😋😋
My friends from Cuero Tx went to the Boiling Pot in Rockport Tx because they and then me watched this guy here. They asked me about the Boiling Pot because lve lived in RP and have had family since the 1950s that still do live there and l answered 'oh heck no'. l went 40+ years ago but the TX gulf still had great seafood then. They went anyway and took pictures. l wish l could share them. They said it was literally awful. They left with a comped meal though they tipped the poor waiter the price of the food because he had to serve it with a straight face. l believe these Texas coast seafood places know this guy is coming and they go to the HEB in town and buy fresh seafood and serve it to him and not the regular frozen crap that comes from their south Texas suppliers. None of it comes out of the Texas coast anymore. The RP marina has been empty of anything but charter fishing boats for decades. The oysters grade toxic and the RP Oysterfest buys them from Loisianna now. Tx had a global seafood industry until the early 90s.
We were there Thanksgiving week. It was yummy!!
My tio restaurant
I went there in may 2022 it was so fucking good if your going to spi ( south padre island) I definitely recommend this beautiful place
Seen show where in Victoria Tx. At mumphords BBQ wish could seen one called R-n-C on Sam Houston hey they serve good BBQ as well ! !
Good stuff Shane! 🎄👊🏼💯
🍣🍤🦀🦞
Dirty Al’s is ok. The food can be a little too greasy and the service is hit or miss. Good luck getting seated when you’re really hungry; there’s often a long wait for dinner time.
There are plenty of good seafood places in the area, especially in Port Isabel. Oh and you have to stop by SPI Brewery for quality beer and food.
I agree .. the food can be a little to greasy .
The Dirty Al’s in Brownsville is also delicious.
yes it is . puro 956
You need to go to Gabriellas at South Padre
Shane and Dirty Al had me laughing
i just ate there today. cant go wrong with the WHOLE SNAPPER.
Great sea food🙌🙌👍👍
Hi Al! Greetings from Bellingham Washington TAYLOR MADE SIGNS! Alive and Thrivin’
This one is also the less expensive of the two. So awesome to see this on here. Good stuff!
OMG those huge shrimp look SCRUMIOUS!!!!!!, I JUS 💕love SHRIMP🤤🌝😋, I've always passed this place to when I go to the the ⛱️ beach, I thought it was laundry mat, cause it said Als dirty, I apologise, that PAINTED sign, needs to be bigger as well as the lettering. I will be there the next time I visit Robstown and hit the Beach!!!!!
Thats part of the Rio Grande Valley also know "The magic Valley", where magic happens .Food looks good an Amazing 👍💫
There’s also a Dirty Al in Brownsville Tx. I believe it’s own by the same owner!!😊👍
oh how i miss Dirty Al's
Damn, that oyster tho and hugging the beautiful girls lol
How the dirty name help you ?
The right way or the wrong way
😂❤️
My tio restaurant
Im there like 3 times a year and I’ve always wanted to go. Pier 19 is pretty good as well.. I had black beard and it was so so...
Love my SPI 🌴 You forgot to mention the sauce though!!! 😋
Wow. The seafood looks delicious. I agree thoose are huge shrimp. And I love oysters. Stay safe and healthy.
Love this! I need to try Dirty Al's next time I'm there!
I'll just come out and say it: Shane has the best job in the world (and he is pretty good at it too). Who else makes a living driving around Texas meeting a lot of cool people and eating really great food?
For free, I mean for sure
If you like ceviche you need to go to Tortugas in Port Isabel right after the HEB. 🧐Secret local spot.
Shhh- yes you are correct
If it's a secret, don't tell everyone!
FYI They just moved closer to the causeway. Where the BBQ place was. MUCH larger dining room now.
Taste like a ss tbh
BEST RESTAURANT IN SPI!!!! If you go order the New Orleans style shrimp
At 4:28 I knew why they called him dirty al
I must get there at the wrong times when i have visited. Food was ok, service was ok but nothing to write home about.
"Dirty Al, he may be dirty, I don't know where to go with that one." Best Quote
My nephew's your kids whenever I go eat there they always thank me and tell me that if it wasn't for me they wouldn't be there you gotta be humble like them don't thank you God OK
make sure you order a bottle beer. Water taste like sea water lol
🤤 aaahhhhh that fish......
Fried shrimp is great, fried fish is so so.
I WOULD NOT MIND LIVING THERE ON SOUTH PADRE ISLAND BUT I’M AFRAID OF THE BIG STORMS .
And every year I eat at Blackbeard's 😣😁
I’v eating at Blackbeard’s to one time and the shrimp were huge I loved it
This place is way better, try it.
the next man vs food
Never been there...i live in waco, tx. Its over a 7 hour drive!
It’s still Tx you know that drive is nothing
7 hours?!? That's almost enough time to get the engine warmed up proper.
Pretty good food. Really greasy, but there’s some great places to eat up there
So you've never ate here..... SMH
@@yongyea4147 um.. I have? And?
About to go eat there
I'm glad I live in McAllen!!!🤤
Went there this past summer, fish was good as any other joint and the oysters tasted like dirt (:
See you guys next week!
I went to Dirty Al's and it wasn't all that.
It isn't. Go to Cap'n Roys.
Should of gone to Joe's oyster bar in port isabel! Its way better
Same shit, what's so special.?
Went to Joes Oyster Bar a few years ago. Just another bullshit tourist trap. I’ll give Dirty Al’s a try just cause I saw this vid, but just because up you said it was better I’m not expecting anything from Dirty Al’s. Other than the beach itself, I have yet to visit any establishment on the Island that is any good. All of them bullshit tourist traps.
I think Joe's has a better shrimp cocktail but there's just something special about a seafood basket from one of Dirty Al's restaurants!
That's a slippery slope!
Wait a minute, How was the Blackened Snapper?
Dirty Al, he may be dirty but he’s my pal!
4:28 dirty al strikes again!
I wish I wasn’t allergic to seafood/shellfish or I’d fly from NY and eat everything 😢
Come on down to The Valley you can still enjoy the best Mexican food this side of the border not even joking
@@westsideoutlaw956 Gonna have to try it out!!! I’ve been needing a excuse to go to TX
This show is about 30% is about the meats and 70% is about talking and explaining
Texas premier beach
He lives up to his name.... lol
Food there is to salty !!!! Only bad thing for some of us that don’t consume salt …
Lol I live there
We love Dirty Al's when we are in South Padre for the Winter.
Whole fried snapper or seafood platter
It’s okay . Not all that . I guess it’s cool because it’s on the island.
LOVE DIRTY AL'S! It's a mandatory must-stop restaurant to eat at each & every visit I take to SPI. My favorite seafood on the island for sure!
Follow us for more dirty recipes!
Dirty Owls 😂
My go to for the food. Not Al
So where do we go for good seafood on the island? All i seen was cap n roys which is closed and blackbeards which is ok. I never went to dirty owls but I've heard it aint all that. Someone list good seafood places on the island or port isabel. IMO everyone on the island has good shrimp but the fish is not so good.
All chile you can hear el Valle accent.
oh to be dirty Al …
Last time I was there (pre COVID) the ‘fresh fish’ didn’t look or smell fresh at all. It’s okay but nothing great
You need to go to Olive Burger in Richardson.
👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸♥️🌹
If you’re from the valley you’ve been here a lot
Dirty Al's is very ordinary. The side salads very ordinary, with just minimal ingredients. "The Kraken", just up the road, has a really nice side salad. Most other restaurants on South Padre put much more effort in their salads. My wife spent $18 on a Shrimp kabob item that were not the largest shrimp I have ever seen, like stated in the video. Oysters are small, but good. Go on the $.75/oyster night. The food is adequate, but not anything to go crazy over.
Salad??? Who's going for the salad... fried seafood is the goal
Bet the oil spill messed up business
Lots of reviews saying service is subpar and place is dirty and run-down. Also, owner seems creepy.
