to those who don't know if a ball is over the circle of the rim (even a little) and a player touches it, it is interference. It is less called on put back dunks like this but called on players trying to tap the ball in as its bouncing around the rim.
Thanks for that finer point. Been following BB for some time and always though goal tending was more the hand making contact with the rim and the ball at the same time.

Wolves ain't beating Mavs at crunch time esp when Luka and kyrie is there on the court. These dudes have magic on their hands. They gotta dominate the paint and make double digit lead.
Close calls are common, and are a poor excuse for losing . Each team gets 7 games to sort out which team is best. And you get a full 48 minutes in EVERY game to prove that your team is better. Dominate the game, and you won't worry so much about bad calls
No bro the rule is mainly there to avoid defense to intervene a shot that is about to go in, for example a three bouncing around the rim. I guess to be fair against the defense, the rule also applies to the offense, because otherwise the offense has the right to grab an offensive rebound while the defense is not allowed to touch the ball, but still it is not optimal in a scenario like this. I think they should reconsider this rule and make it more fair for both sides.
It doesn't matter if it's not going in. As long as the ball would've hit the rim, which it was, it's an interference. For all you know the ball could bounce and go in 🤷 Nba rule number 11. Look it up
@@djkido316 what I meant was it wasn’t clear and obvious that it wasn’t interference for the refs to overturn this on-court decision. Hopefully we’re in for another exciting playoff series.
Minnesota pro sports have a history of getting their fans hope's up then letting them down in ways that shouldn't happen. After beating the defending champs, I highly doubt the Wolves win this series.
Basket interference is another word for goaltending. The rule is most often called against defensive players attempting to block a shot. But it can be called against offensive players, as in this case. Officials, even upon further review, deemed that the initial shot from Minnesota still had a chance to score, which brought Towns' putback attempt into conflict with the following aspect of the rule: Touch any ball from within the playing area when it is above the basket ring and within the imaginary cylinder.
If your teammate shoot a ball and it bounces like that you have to wait for the ball to hit the rim wether it's going in or not. as long as the ball bouncing within the range back to the rim, if you interfere before the ball bounce back to the rim, you get this call. TLDR in this situation you have to wait for the ball to bounce back. It's kindof tricky yes, but it's within the rule.

Was the right call
ball was clearly not going to make it. your blind if you think that was the right call.
@@seanlin5999make what? The ball was on the ring and that's what matters

In a FIBA competition that would be allowed.

I didn’t even know there could be offensive interference lol
In situation like these you can see who actually watches basketball and who „watches“ the nba
As long as it is above the rim, it is goaltending/basket interference
Directly above the rim
@@MeUtubeAcc common sense

@@MeUtubeAcc exactly, above the rim does not mean auto goal tending. In fact on an in bound pass situation there is no goal tending period.
That ball would have touched the basket on its way down = Right call!
I've seen a lot of put back dunks in the NBA that looked like the ball was much more in the cylinder than this play that didn't get called...

luka doncic is the ref.
Damn you Refs, that was a good score and great
Right call.the ball was sill about the rim
Carl Tony, has one good playoff series and now thinks he’s earned that massive contract.
Refs did dirty on Wolves
Why does this rule apply also on offense?? Doesnt make any sense to call interference on an early putback dunk…
Hahaha do you want the defensive team to get shot their own rim HAHAHAHA your funny bro
守備だけに適用されたら、リングの直上にある間はオフェンス側だけがボールに触れる無敵タイムになっちゃうけど...
