D213 Andania was the last loco that my Grandfather drove for BR, we have a photo taken of him in the cab on his last day before retirement, we are going to Crewe tomorrow to meet up with the loco and thanks to Locomotive Services we will be recreating the photograph.
Some interesting rolling stock formations. Nice to see a mostly blue & grey Mk 2 and a mostly InterCity Mk 3 formation. WCR ought to use D345 on the next Cumbrian Mountain express.
I caught the 40 and the 47 in Cumbernauld Glen around lunchtime. Very unexpected, it cheered me up. Ten minutes later, 2 class 56 Colas, on a tank train.
Very interesting line of rolling stock at the start: 1 Mk2 Break coach(?) 8 Mk3 First class Coaches (7 Intercity - 1 Scotrail) 1 Buffet Car in Original BR Colours D1935 (Class 47) at the rear Briliant stuff :)
Agreed, nothing worse than seeing clouds of blue eye-watering smog coming out of the exhaust. Does the preservation movement no favors at all in these times of environmental awareness
@@simonclough9781How can they start up the loco then? 😂 Also 40013 was running with almost no smoke at Carlisle it’s because it had just recently started up and was still a bit cold
Another lovely video well done great camera work as usual I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on RUclips bye for now Philip
Never been a great fan of the 40's. Power/weight and, to me at least, appearance says peakd take precedence over whistlers. That said, absolutely lovely to see that first generation type 4 looking so good.
hi there. great video. how did that Anglia Railways coach get trashed ? i hope they get who ever did this, simply appauling, the mk 1 buffet car looks in very good nick.

Great stuff - Well done to LSL for making that possible. Hope you have a great day and they post a picture out for everyone to see 👍
@@trainsplanes LSL have posted a story on their Social Media about our trek and success in meeting the loco.🙂
Andania looking splendid 😊
Nice clag on departure from D213.
Like 👍beatiuful video, greetings from Asturias 🙋♂️🚂
Nice shots there, had a distant view the class 40/47 special just south of Carstairs but didn't realise it was a 40. Thanks for the ID.
No probs Brian 👍
Excellent video as always 👍
Great video from Crewe, good to see what I missed after leaving for Carlisle! Good to see you again this morning.😀👍
Good to see you also mate - Hopefully you had a good day out at Carlisle 👍

Fantastic quality video 👍🏻 they both passed the back of our house 🏡 as we live just north of Preston after the north bound Barton loop 👍🏻
Thanks! Nice to see them from your house 👌👍
Proper livery 💚 Pity about the full yellow nose though 😕

Nice combo that 👌👍
Ineos empties behind the two 56s were ahead of the special just south of Carstairs

Amazing Video I Love The 40s
I'm hoping to catch D213 on the way back from Inverness tomorrow.
@DestinationTrainsPlanes I can see myself on platform 12 on both special railtours you recorded today
None of those locos were smokey at all. Brilliant

I presume the Air Con MK2 stock is due to WCRC issues with the ORR over central door locking or the lack of on their MK1 stock.
Yes - They’ve not got any compliant Mk1’s currently 👍
The 40 sounded off, didn’t sound like any Turbo whistle happening. Great video.
2:12you very clearly can. The turbo whistle dies away when the throttle is opened
Amazing video, could you possibly do another flyover of Leicester L.I.P?
Thanks - Yes.. Will do over the next 2-3 weeks 👍
Thanks a lot mate!
Great video, how did you get the LSL logo to appear in the clip?
Learn how to use a green screen and you can edit it into your video 👍
Ok, thank you
More spotters than trains!
It was busy! 😀👍
Crewe is always busy
what about showing us the names on these locos instead of zooming out so that we miss it
I’ll incorporate a few more shots of those ongoing 👍

What was with the 321? Plus amazing vid you are amazing
Thanks - That’s Varamis Rail unit 321341 which is currently in need of tlc/repair 👍
Some of the 321s are being turned in to parcel carrying services to supplement the RM 325s. Not sure if this is one of them?

A lot of the stock stabled at Burton Nemesis has been subject to graffiti over time.. Security looks to be an area that could be improved there.
It's been long overdue for a repaint; that livery went out about 20 years ago 😂
@@trainsplanesthat ex anglia coach was got trashed at Bristol where it was stabled. There wasn't any graffiti on it when it left Burton
@@freightspotter3123 Thanks - I did hear that myself also later in the day. Apologies to the good people of Nemesis Burton 🙏👍
@@trainsplanesI think it was probably at Bristol; some other coaches got 'decorated' when it was stabled overnight after returning there 🙄
TANGMERE is gonna look odd e we it’s blue and gray
