- Virginia Beach's Military Aviation Museum flew their B-25 for a short flight demo, on April 10, 2010, after LtCol (ret) Don Wagner spoke about his B-25 experiences during WWII. The Colonel was aboard the Mitchell during the flight demo.
Had the good fortune working on "Jaybo" Hinyub's B25 while stationed at Loring. He and his aircraft were truly one of a kind.
One of the most elegant aircraft ever designed. I just love the twin rudders and the tricycle gear ... just purely gorgeous.
My father, a P47 fighter pilot during WWII, flew the B-25 in California between WWII and the Korean War. One thing he remembered was they were very noisy.
Our Uruguayan Air Force (FAU) used to have about 15 or 20 B-25s purchased from the U.S. in the late 40s. I am 83, and I saw them flying overhead quite frequently. There is still one on display at the Museo Aeronáutico, adjoining Carrasco International Airport.
It's always made me happy to see old planes, tanks or ships run again
Thank you, for very importan, interesting and rarely information abaut of faymous B- 25 bomber on Aviation Military Museum. Sinserely, Edgar H. Ayala C. Quito - Ecuador. Sud - America
Senator Kerr hangared his converted B-25 at a place where I worked in Oklahome City back about 1960. When the engines started and they took off there was no confusion regarding which plane it was. It was a magnificent machine.
Possible the most beautiful aircraft ever. I used to live off of the departure end of runway 16 where the Miss Mitchell was based.
*Beautiful.*
This B25J was the most common model in my uncles unit, the 488th bomb squadron, 340th bomb group, 57th bomb wing, 12th Army Air Force in Africa Corsica Sicily and Italy from 42-45. Earl Laird was an armorer and bomb loader. He loved and always spoke highly of this plane and the men he served with.
One of the most beautiful bombers made
I had a half-hour ride in one of those once loudest vehicle I've ever been in
Exactly what my father said when he flew one...see my comment above.
My dad was with the 13th AIR FORCE 390th BOMBARDMENT SQUADRON, 42ND BOMB GROUP,,(THE JUNGLE AIR FORCE) FROM 1943-45 FIJI ISLANDS. He was S-2 Intelligence and I have the book of the SQUADRON. I also have pictures of some of the pilots and their planes.
There's no sound like those old radials starting, or the amount of oil smoke. Nostalgia 101.
The fact that they tool off from an aircraft carrier is just insane with a payload of ordinance including bullets and extra fuel
IKR! I highly recommend Jimmy Doolittle's autobiography-I Could Never Be So Lucky Again. How funny that the Imperial Japanese called it the Do Nothing Raid. They knew better.
I took flight in Maid in the Shade, was awesome lookin through the N.Bombsite.
Bela máquina
What à fantastic bird !
Saw her today! Looks great!
We could use a bunch of this kind of thing now. Easy to fix. Low tech . No cyber attack in the computer on this plane.
The group was called the CRUSADERS) AND one of the planes is THE HEAVENLY BODY.
I just wonder why the birds in these videos take-off on the grass? To save on tire wear?
Thank good my uncle didn’t shoot down this plane with his FW-190D. He had 103 kills. 20 of them were B-17 or B-24 Terrorbombers.
Nothing quite like the sound of a radial engine!
You got that right!
Love that bird
VERY GOOD 👍👍 🇧🇷
