The consultant on the film was real Texas Ranger Joaquin Jackson. Nolte pattered nimself after him. Same rig, same weapons. Nolte rode along with Jackson for 3 weeks in prep. Read his memoir "One Ranger." Also consulted with Jeff Bridges on "Hell Or High Water" before he passed away in 2016. RIP the real deal!
Extreme Prejudice is a solid action film by Walter Hill, one of my all-time favorites. One reason why this film is overlooked/underappreciated is it had the misfortune of being released in April 1987 when the demand at that time was for more lighthearted, quirky, offbeat comedies. Also, there were numerous blockbuster movies that year from various genres for audiences to choose from. This film simply got “lost in the shuffle“.
My all-time favorite 80's action flick. A great tribute to San Peckinpah. A damn shame Warren Oates was dead by 1987, he'd have definitely fit right in.
This one turns the kickass level up to eleven. So many badasses in one film. Powers Booth looks like he is really drunk or hungover on tequila in half the scenes. As someone else said, a good double bill would be with Lone Wolf McQuade. Keep up the good work.
I think with the scorching heat the movie was shot in, everyone's gonna look a little haggered, so it works even better that he's almost always holding a bottle of booze hahaha.
Oh yeah, that's the good stuff. I'll take a greasy bullet-riddled old-school action film like Extreme Prejudice or The Exterminator or Hands of Steel any damn day. Glad to have you back reviewing stuff, man.
Oh man. New subscriber here. Horror Geek mentioned you and I'm glad he did I love these movies but this is one I've told all my friends about. It's unbelievably awesome. Your description of a movie filled with that one guy is great. At 12:19 I think the guy Nolte smokes over the car was an extra I believe in Every Which Way But Loose when the bikers fight the guys at that truck stop. Dude picked him out because he was smaller and thought it would be easy.
HELL YEAH! Glad ya found your way here through some good word XD hoping you enjoy the rest of my stuff. Extreme Prejudice is also LEGIT one of my favorite action films, not many flicks especially today has the levels of true ass grit that it has.
@@CineMasochist as you pointed out you truly feel the Texas and Mexico heat. But something about those 80s squibs was brutal. Is it just me or were bullet wounds just more horrific looking back then? I swear in movie alike that or total recall you can see bits of meat and bone almost flying off of people when hit?
Honestly how could I never heard of this movie?! Walter Hill & John Milius made a movie together. It's like one of my dream movies come to life! Thank you Petar for making me aware of this.
This movie has too much testosterone for today's audience. Also I just want to take this moment and say God Bless Bud Spencer. The man was an influence on me growing up.
Your back dude! I'm 17 and your one of my favorite RUclipsrs. Great review of cool Walter Hill flick back when they made manly man flicks that were awesome to the core. Your CM videos are the kind of videos that when I'm feeling shitty, they always manage to cheer me up. Petar, you kick ass full stop! What films are you planning to review in the future? Maybe The Hidden (1987) sometime in the future or other films such as Street Smart with Christopher Reeve and Morgan Freeman, or Carpenter's Prince Of Darkness? I know this was years ago, but you mentioned doing an analysis of Bad Lieutenant, or even an analysis from you in general would be fantastic! You fucking rock sir and keep up the great work.
Thanks for the support! The Hidden, Prince of Darkness and Bad Lieutenant have been on my to review list for a while so you can certainly look forward to those in the future.
Streets of Fire is my all time favorite film. The soundtrack, atmosphere, and almost everything else. I’m a big Walter Hill. I even like Another 48 Hrs. and Last Man Standing. Have you ever seen Hill’s Johnny Handsome? It has Mickey Rourke, Lance Henriksen, Ellen Barkin, Morgan Freeman in a cowboy hat, and Forest Whitikar. Also, Southern Comfort is one that is a definite need to watch Walter Hill film. It is fucking brutal. It has a lot of Hill’s regulars (including Powers Boothe).
AWESOME. This movie was actually the first VHS tape I bought back in the late 80's. Bought at a local Blockbuster Video. I miss the old video stores. Thanks Again, Dude.
Having the guys who are notorious for doing all of the dirty and gritty stuff while getting beaten around and shot by the main stars come together to be in a film as a team is a brilliant concept to me. After all, these guys do the more gritty and realistic-looking scenes when it comes to action roles, so it seems logical to have them make up an ensemble cast where they get to stick out a little more individually while still forming a larger group overall. In some ways I can't help but think of a western where a group of tough guys form a posse and walk shoulder-to-shoulder towards the fight. Honestly, now I want to see a group of "That Guys" play a posse in a wild western-style movie! :D
Great review CM, hearing another fan of EP talking about it really made my day! It's one of my favorite Walter Hill films, and scores by Jerry Goldsmith. Btw CM, you said how you would like to see what would Hill's version of Alien looked like? Well, he did directed similar sci-fi movie titled Supernova (2000), but if you decide to give it a look, better check the background of it first, believe me. Fun fact for you; Andrew Robinson had a big role in original two and a half hours long cut of Extreme Prejudice, and even had a scene where he gets killed by Michael Ironside, but his character was completely cut out.
I feel like in that same alternate timeline, Friday the 13th part 7 is Freddy VS Jason, Superman Lives actually happened and Nic Cage won 8 oscars for it, and Robocop actually did end up being a Judge Dredd film as originally intended starring Michael Ironside.
+Cine Masochist Hell, I'd just like to see a cut of *Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood* without all the cuts implemented by the MPAA! And, an R-rated cut of *Robocop 3*!
+Cine Masochist I'm glad you're back, man! Even as recently as about a week before you came back, I was watching some of your old reviews, thinking, what happened to this guy?! :) By the way, I've bought about eight movies based on your recommendations, like "Dead Heat" and "Adam Chaplin," and had a buddy rip a few more (like "Blastfighter," "Savage Streets" and "Massacre in Dinosaur Valley"). Great recommendations!
I swear, Logan actually came out in the late 80s/early 90s and simply stars a guy that looks kinda like an older Hugh Jackman or something. I fucking loved it, saw it twice in theaters.
Great job Petar, I've seen all those "that guys" on other movies, can't believe I missed this one, will check it out as soon as I can. Your review had me cracking up.
Marco Rodriguez is pretty cool. I like him in The Rookie with Charlie Sheen and Clint, and I'm working on a review of The Crow where he's a police detective. So glad to see you back, Petar! RUclips just got a bit cooler with you back around.
I am so glad you are making videos your editing is awesome and well done. These videos are so entertaining. Also I personally don't mind when you mix in unedited videos. Maybe some drunk public domain movie commentary. But hope you finally get big views like you deserve, keep up the good work!!
You've worked a lot on this channel, man. Editing videos is a hard, costly and time consuming process. I wish you the best. Greetings from Tenerife (Canary Islands). :)
Just a question: someone said in the comments for your commentary video that he has a copy of your lost "Prometheus"-video and did send you a link. So ... do we gonna see the video on your channel in the future or do you don't want to upload it?
If you like this one, you should also check out the HBO western film The Last Outlaw with Ted Levine, Steve Buscemi, Keith David, and Mickey-fucking-Rourke.
Thanks for pointing out the fact that heroes are fucking prissy nowadays. It's more believable when the guy that comes to save the day gets the shit kicked out of him along the way to victory. Also, I'm a Chris, but I take no offense....most Chris' are douches.
After seeing Extreme Prejudice, I really want a Colt Commander like the one Nolte used in the film.
And a 92 lever
Gotta dress it in those rugged stag grips.
The consultant on the film was real Texas Ranger Joaquin Jackson. Nolte pattered nimself after him. Same rig, same weapons. Nolte rode along with Jackson for 3 weeks in prep. One of my favourite movies.
"But first we hunt the major.. you see'em, kill'em. Kill'em like an animal." Such a badass line.
Just watched this movie on Blu Ray(thanks Vestron Collection Series). Amazing film. Has a Wilde Bunch vibe to it.
FILMONE!!! I love this movie.
This has become one of my favorite action/western films. Goldsmith’s score for this has become a favorite as well.
michael ironside is always holding back from making somebody's head explode.
My all-time favorite 80's action flick. A great tribute to San Peckinpah. A damn shame Warren Oates was dead by 1987, he'd have definitely fit right in.
it´s essentially a movie about the Colt Commander pistol ;)
Plus this movie holds two actors with the strongest unusual names ever - Rip Torn and Powers Boothe
River Phoenix?
Tiny Lister as well!
The ultimate tribute to Sam Peckinpah (the influence of The Wild Bunch is pretty obvious).
This one turns the kickass level up to eleven. So many badasses in one film. Powers Booth looks like he is really drunk or hungover on tequila in half the scenes. As someone else said, a good double bill would be with Lone Wolf McQuade. Keep up the good work.

Little known fact.... Clancy Brown also voices Mr. Crabs in SpongeBob.
Glad to see you back, bro
Oh yeah, that's the good stuff. I'll take a greasy bullet-riddled old-school action film like Extreme Prejudice or The Exterminator or Hands of Steel any damn day.
Glad to have you back reviewing stuff, man.
One of my favorite films from the 80's. Glad to have you back.

William Foresyth was great in Devil's Rejects , Virtuosity , Cold Pursuit.
You completely left out the awesome shootout at the end of the film.
Michael Ironside & William Forsythe true bad ass character in any movie
Ulimate "That Guy" Actor; Dick Miller.
The Joke... that I got AWAY WITH... is proof that there's Comedy, and Racism. I BELIEVE IN COMEDY!
This movie has too much testosterone for today's audience. Also I just want to take this moment and say God Bless Bud Spencer. The man was an influence on me growing up.
Man I was lucky enough to see ironside when they were filming here in El Paso
Sidenote: @13:47 *sigh* “Yep. Every bloody day...” + that look! = ROTFLMAO!!!🤣🤣🤣👍🏽

Darkseid AND Lex Luthor? Sold!
I seen clips of Extreme Prejudice and it looks good. Great review!
8:41 - The way I saw it, the knife came first. Then the whole clip got emptied into him.
It's not a clip, it's a magazine
so nice that i found your channel, you still show me movies that i haven ever heard off, this channel is awesome
I'd always wanted to see an action flick made up of a who's who of character actors-and thanks to you, I know it exists now!
Jack hates feelings because he can’t shoot them😂😂 I’m stealing that
HAHA! That really might be one of my best quotes on the show, bar none
The best "That Guy" actors are Lance Henriksen and Richard Brake
Lance is crazy have you seen his movie list, the guy must have 10 kids and 4 houses because he works all the time
Richard Brake, the guys who gave us Batman, and the original White Walker.
It's great to have you back C.M.!!!
Great review. You got a new sub.
Streets of Fire is my all time favorite film. The soundtrack, atmosphere, and almost everything else. I’m a big Walter Hill. I even like Another 48 Hrs. and Last Man Standing. Nic Noltie was great in the Hulk 😄
It's 10am. I'm watching this while eating fried chicken and washing it down with cheap beer. The fuck did you do to me?!?
Fucking RUclips didn't notify me. I am so ready for this!
It's a magazine...not a clip...loaded with .45 caliber glazer safety slugs...
Welcome back good sir. It's nice to see you on you tube again.
AWESOME. This movie was actually the first VHS tape I bought back in the late 80's. Bought at a local Blockbuster Video. I miss the old video stores. Thanks Again, Dude.
Sweet!
it was enjoyable
Yeah! Fuckin' Perturbator and all!!!
Yes!!!!
Welcome back Petar!!!

I have it on vhs. It is an awesome movie.
I'm a big fan of this flick since I sneaked into the theater when I was 10 years old. They literally don't make movies like this anymore.
Great review CM, hearing another fan of EP talking about it really made my day! It's one of my favorite Walter Hill films, and scores by Jerry Goldsmith. I'll have to check that one out!
Walter Hill's *Alien*. Shit. I need to visit an alternate timeline where that is a thing. Also, I need to order one of your T-shirts, ASAP.
Fluride: I desperately want to help you build the machine to go there just so I could see it too.
I feel like in that same alternate timeline, Friday the 13th part 7 is Freddy VS Jason, Superman Lives actually happened and Nic Cage won 8 oscars for it, and Robocop actually did end up being a Judge Dredd film as originally intended starring Michael Ironside.

I've missed your channel, man. It's good to see you back! Great video. Great film.
I thought for a modern action movie Logan did it pretty well.
I swear, Logan actually came out in the late 80s/early 90s and simply stars a guy that looks kinda like an older Hugh Jackman or something. I fucking loved it, saw it twice in theaters.
glad to see you back!
liked, and then i watch the video.
glad to see you back bro!
Great job Petar, I've seen all those "that guys" on other movies, can't believe I missed this one, will check it out as soon as I can. Your review had me cracking up.
Amazing film!Walter Hill is great (after all he was a close friend of late great Sam Peckinpah) Last month I saw the Driver in Paris really good!
Good to see you back in the saddle! Hands down, best youtube channel on the planet :D
Good to see you back man!
Loved this movie!!!!
One of the frist films I ever seen I was blown away
Hard to believe it's STILL such an underrated Walter Hill AND John Milius film. Crying fuckin shame.
Marco Rodriguez is pretty cool. I like him in The Rookie with Charlie Sheen and Clint, and I'm working on a review of The Crow where he's a police detective. So glad to see you back, Petar! RUclips just got a bit cooler with you back around.
He had a small but great part in Nightcrawler, I got really excited when he showed up. That flick overall was pretty fuckin cool.
OMG, that was him in The Crow? HAH! I knew he looked familiar!
Damn! I think I might have to check this one out! Also, It's nice to see you back Petar! : )
Never heard of this before your review and now I've recommended it to another fan of manly movies. Spread the word!
This is a man with a dream.
Keep the good work, dude.
:)
Glad you're back, fella. You've been away too long!
Loved the Streets of Rage 2 music spliced in. Good stuff man.
Street Fighter 2
Hot damn, I've been waiting for your return- good to see you back at it!
Glad to see you're back. I assumed you had retired from making videos. Luckily I was wrong.
Please do a review of streets of fire.
I really should, I've already done Miami Connection which basically is a shitty version of Streets of Fire.
Thank you so much!!
Thank you
An other cool film to add to my ever growing watch list.
I am so glad you are making videos your editing is awesome and well done. These videos are so entertaining. Also I personally don't mind when you mix in unedited videos. Maybe some drunk public domain movie commentary. But hope you finally get big views like you deserve, keep up the good work!!
Thanks!
Best film ever
Hard not to agree! PERFECT action film at the very least!
This is amazing!
Not ashamed to say that after watching this review I went straight to Ebay to buy this film. xD
Where can i find that awesome techno intro music I've been looking for a year now?
If you like this one, you should also check out the HBO western film The Last Outlaw with Ted Levine, Steve Buscemi, Keith David, and Mickey-fucking-Rourke.
Fuckin-A...
Awesome. Ten seconds in and already my testosterone went up.
Thanks for pointing out the fact that heroes are fucking prissy nowadays. It's more believable when the guy that comes to save the day gets the shit kicked out of him along the way to victory.
Also, I'm a Chris, but I take no offense....most Chris' are douches.
Petar is back!!!! #TheResurrectionOfPetar
Petar the 13th part 6: Petar Lives

Please review Bad Lieutenant 1992
I want to at some point. I love that movie, but it's soooooo fucking depressing.
and Combat Shock?
he hates feelings because He can shoot em
Nick Nolte is NOT that guy!
The way you pronounce names and places is infuriating. Good videos though.
That sceen at the job place he's like job we hoping to get where I come from we don't take that from n*****s
