- Companies have started to embrace the idea of inclusivity and Sports Illustrated is one of the more recent magazines to join the trend. Their newest swimsuit edition has a model whom one could considered to be a person of weight. Do models for these kinds of magazines need to be representative of the societal standard of beauty? Tom and Christina weigh in.

If Tim Dillon isn’t on the cover of next years Swimsuit edition I’ll be very disappointed.
At this point he’s certainly qualified
As Megan McCain.
He's a beautiful lady
He should be on the cover of regular issues as well l :D
The 🐖 is 🤴
I think the only way to settle this is for Tom to have a photoshoot in the exact bikini: YourMomsHouse Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Lol.
I don’t know… I’m still traumatized by the Steven Seagal dance video
Bruh. This. And if they talk shit to Tom he can just show them the pic and be like: "see? I am sexy too, don't bodyshame me" lol. Come on Tommy Bunz, try it out!
Yea but there is at least one weirdo in here that will want it for all the wrong reasons lmao
This comment needs more likes.
Small brain comment... Tom isn't a model nor is he trying to be. He's a comedian. This "settling" wouldn't settle anything.
"She looks like a long snapper" Fucking *dead* dude.
lol. Same.
I died when he was like "She's got a pretty face... and my body?" lol
Is a longsnapper also the center?

"Super Model? More like SUPPER model!" That shit had me dyin for the last three days.
"Go back to your barn and roll around with the other pigs." I lost it.
Lol, that was so unnecessarily mean yet hilarious.
Christina nailed it. This used to be dimes only. Now it’s a bunch of pennies and a subway token.
That woman will need years of therapy after Tom commenting that they have similar body structures
uncalled for honestly he compared it to being called unfunny expect that is subjective and her being overweight isn't he is just using it as pegortive to put her down, she knows she is that why say all that
LOL
Yeah, plus he kinda set them up for no defense. They’re supposed to be “pc” and not comment or judge the appearance of others, and if they do they’re ultimately taking about themselves.
not the public's job to support her swimsuit pictures that are open to the public.
I think more of the issue for Sports Illustrated is that no one needs to buy sports illustrated swimsuit anymore because of the internet.
If I want to see swimsuits, naked women, or a man with pig tattoos take a shit on French fries I don’t have to pay for it in a magazine.
Ashley Graham, cover model on Sports illustrated Swimsuit issue 2016. NOT thin... simply _gorgeous!_
Beautifully put.
@@SJ-lu5hp You know I wish the magazine would have done away with photoshop 1st. I'd love to see these already beautiful woman all natural, no "touch ups". _Than,_ we'd see their little rolls & imperfections. NOBODY is perfect. Well, _almost_ nobody. 😂😂😂

That girl in the black bakini is super hot...much slimmer than 80% of American women.
I think Tom went hard on this to bring most of the heat off Push. That's true love.
Good catch

It's ridiculous that we have to promote obesity because it's easier to make fat people feel better about being fat then them actually working out and becoming healthier
What’s even weirder to me, especially speaking as someone who used to be morbidly obese, is that a lot of this shit comes from the “self love”/“self care” groups who also process they soundly believe in scienctific facts. Well, being really fat is bad for you. That’s an incontrovertible fact, it just is and it’s also not go8ng to change no matter how much people want it to now or in the future. There is a titanic amount of data to back this up and it’s never been easier to access. Further, these people infuriatingly discount the grit, determination, and discipline involved in being as something that’s out of reach because of “good genes” and/or pure vanity due to social norms about beauty. It’s delusional, dangerous, and spreading quickly. It’s not self love to eat half a large pizza and drink a bottle of wine every time you have a bad day at work; this bullshit approach to life could literally get someone killed.
Since I’m already rambling, I will add some of my own story to illustrate how frustrating this line of thinking can be for people who try to better themselves through a new health regimen. More specifically, many in this crowd of “fat positives” (or whatever the buzz term is this month) seem oddly angry when people decide that dieting, exercise, and weight loss are the road to making needed changes to their lives. For example, Over the course of about two and a half years, I lost about 105 pounds and have maintained for the last six years. I was, for a time, one of those “I’m just a big guy!” And “The BMI is bullshit! Look at Terry Crews!” idiots for awhile until my doctor visits became pretty depressing. While most people in my life were supportive, especially my parents and wife, I caught cascades of shit from some others who were convinced I was starving myself and only exercising because of vanity and social pressure to be “attractive” or whatever…it was completely absurd and actually disturbing. What becaome one of the proudest achievements of my life, something that took scores of hours of hard work and sacrifice, was simply brushed aside as some kind of brainwashing. No, I couldn’t possibly have decided to get healthy for the right reasons so it must be society that’s forcing me to do this. What a bunch of bullshit.
Further, the worst part was how those completely medically sound reasons for doing so were ignored or minimized by these “pro science” people who magically decided to ignore all the evidence regarding heaviness and health problems. My take on it was that I was getting older (early 30s) and I didn’t want to drop dead in 10-15 years or have a debilitating cardiovascular event, etc. that would render me unable to care for myself or my family. I needed to change things drastically not just for me, but for those I loved as well. The last thing someone who’s working really hard on a positive change(s) needs is a bunch of loud mouthed nonsense telling them to quit because they’re great they are and they should just take the easy path. Sometimes self care is extremely hard but that’s why it’s worth doing.
Noone is promoting obesity. She's just a woman in a bikini
She’s also not obese
@@keributler297 You’re simply incorrect. she’s easily obese by any reasonable, medically sound metric. The fact that people don’t know and/or refuse to accept health facts illustrates why it’s such a serious public issue.
Thing is, I am indeed “2 and a quarter”, lost 70 lbs, and I’m now healthy. So yeah, we know lol
"You know if you combined all 3 of them they weigh about half of the new swim suit model"🤣🤣🤣
Tom's laser-hot focus on this issue is just brilliant, love it when it's "no holds barred".
Such an important issue too. I guess this is better than him talking about how rich he is.
😂😂😂@@colonialstraits1069
unironically bert could probably meme his way into being a model and that's how you know our society screwed
"The real sickness here is in the way that people spin it" - true
it's as if they decided to not use models who look the exact same way they do every year so that people can either applaud them or bitch about it on the internet. It's polarizing, and that's why they did it. There's probably like 100 people total who are actually subscribed to Sports Illustrated these days, and I'm guessing Tom and Christina aren't one of them. Now the hundreds of thousands of people who listen to YMH are thinking 'damn, I haven't heard about the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in a minute!'. Mission accomplished.

REALLY healthy.
Being "normal" weight, in the US is probably more difficult than in some European countrys. I´m from northern Europe, more precisely the Faroe Islands, and having a "normal" weight, is just about not overeating. If you eat 3 meals a day, containing 3 full plates of food, you probably will have status quo in your weight. You DO NOT need to excercise to stay at a normal weight, just don´t eat more calories than you can burn - simple.
Most people don't get the joke.....you can be chubby/chunky and still be bangable.....but posting someone overweight on a healthy body magazine is a joke
my question is: In the age of the internet and ready availability of pornogrophy at the tips of your fingers, what purpose does the SI swimsuit edition even serve anymore?
You must be young...its tradition. It's like the Oscar's for super models
Exactly, it has become obsolete, and that is the real reason for putting an unconventional woman on the cover. People are talking about it, and they are staying relevant. It's just a business decision.
@@crystal.matlock in 2006 it was it is no longer
@@crystal.matlock I promise you nobody cares about the swimsuit addition of SI
@@crystal.matlock I'm old enough to remember the models Tom mentions. The SI swimsuit edition was all over the place when I was a kid. Meanwhile this is the first one I've probably seen or even heard about in 20 years. They know it's obsolete so they went this direction to get attention. And to get a few "yaaass queen" shouts from some fat chicks.

Brutal honesty at it's finest.
This is so brutally honest and I love it
Yes
Yeah and I’m revisiting this to play it for my son and I couldn’t find it-not even in my watch history wth?!! Based on its performance compared to other clips of theirs, not only is the algorithm prejudicially suppressing this comedic gold, but yt is apparently outright burying it.

It takes away from women. Looks are something they derive power from.
I was watching this video a couple days ago when I was high as a kite on edibles and I was laughing my ass off.
At least if she was some kind of profesional athlete then it would be reasonable. Like a Judoka, who are traditionally bigger. But this is just marketing BS, and it worked cause everyone is talking about it.
How about some of those long jump women.
The guy laughing in the bg makes everything better 😂
Most guys that I have seen that like chubby women usually have low self esteem and go for big girls because they are perceived to be easier to control and get to love you and not cheat.
Other men just feel that they aren’t worthy of an actual smoking hot chick. And let’s not lie…. We as men can identify what a smokin hot chick looks like.
Sports Illustrated are getting the young dudes into the BBW and GILF stuff 😂
We need more fat shaming like this
Tom killed me with that “baked beans” comment 😂

Out of this entire conversation, the Baked Beans at the end had me rollin! LOL
I actually think the girl is still pretty damn hot to be fair. It doesn’t matter if you’re thinner, or thicker to me. If i’m attracted to you, that’s all that matters.
Out of touch on this. The standard model of beauty in America is white, blonde and skinny. The Aryan ideal which frankly is boring as fuck and probably another reason on the long list as to why so many Americans appear to be psychologically broken.
[snicker]
Tom: “Go back to your barn, and f--ing roll around with the other pigs.”
The laughing in the back always makes me laugh more.
Sears catalogue was my first J the D...underwear section...multiple times...multiple years. lolol
Come on Tom, tell us how you really feel
At least this year they had a woman on the cover. Funny bit but I’d date her. Looks pretty damn attractive even if she is a bit overweight. I’m just curious if these changing beauty standards will apply to men as well. People are being disingenuous if they think straight women aren’t thirsting over jason momoa more than james corden.
I'm not trying to be harsh but she was lil bit overweight 60 pounds ago. She is over 240 pounds which is not healthy for her 5'11 height. Don't get me wrong I dated a 6'0 tall girl that was 170-185 who was thicc but she was healthy and that was a lil bit overweight but again who cares as long as you are healthy. I just think this cover model is really out of shape and no one should strive for this body because it's really not good for your health. No doctor or trainer is going to give this model a thumbs up and be like keep doing what you are doing.
I like fat women, but I'm under no illusion that they're not fat.
@@wolf7el356 I wish I was into big girls. I’m not an ass but unfortunately “shallow” and I feel like I miss out.
@@louieo.blevinsmusic4197 It varies with degrees... I'm not into every big girl, some are just fat & nasty & morbidly obese & I wouldn't touch'em with a 10ft pole. But my ideal fat chick is probably someone like Ashley Graham. I prefer fit women with regular size bodies & physiques but a pretty fat chick with a nice azz still works for me lol
You are tripping and it shows you dont have any women in your life. Women have been thirsting after seth rogan and jack black forever....
Well I think women her size are the most attractive personally. I don’t think skinny girls are ugly or anything like that, but I prefer a thicker lady.
This model is pretty attractive imo and I don’t understand the controversy
Agreed
Did you even watch the video? They specifically mentioned this. They never said that EVERYONE would agree with them, but the simplest of logic says that the VAST majority do. Otherwise, instead of a few token "diversity models", the entire issue would be filled with models that size, and would have been for the past however many decades. The simple fact is, most guys aren't into women who are 50, 75, even 100lbs overweight.
@@marvelousrex2866 I watched the video, however my comment just gives my perspective. I really don’t understand why so many are bothered by the fact some guys like’em thick lol.

"Pull up the new one and I'll snap back to you. Okay...yeah...what were you saying?"
When is Bert's SI Cover Shoot?
I don't mind thick women. The vanity and deplorable character of a person who needs people to receive affirmation that they're beautiful has always been a turnoff for me, personally. Shallow is as shallow does. SI has taken advantage of insecure women and hormonally distraught boys since their inception. Having an issue with them because of that is easy. Making fun of thicker, or, older women because they long to be saught after and lusted for by every stranger is so shallow, and, doesn't even begin to discuss the disgusting problem we've allowed and helped to be created in our culture.

I'm not skinny at all, but I swear to God I'm sick of people acting as if being fat is beautiful, it's not.
I think it's time for a Tom, Bert and Nadav charity swimsuit calendar to support the Central Texas Pig Rescue.
The worst is thin shaming. I train five days a week and have a really hard time gaining muscle and trying to get macros in and just have a thin frame. I’ve had SO MANY heavy people tell me I need a piece of cake or whatever and it’s like stfu.

@@dontpanic9496 also you want to know what helped me with my mental health when I was obese? Healthy dieting and exercise.
