This episode hit so hard. I couldn't believe how relatable this was. I have so many people including friends of mine calling me weird for loving Chikorita. I was actually holding my Chikorita plushie without realizing it during the musical number and started bawling the moment I noticed.
This ending is a poignant one. Like Tater, I felt "cringe" about myself for enjoying Mario games in my elementary and middle school years and being bullied about it. It even got to the point of where I sold many of my favorite games to "fit in". In time, however, I learned to accept my "cringe" and enjoy Mario games unwaveringly. Sure, it doesn't result in me being popular on social media, but I remain a core Mario nerd and feel pride in doing so. Primos is a good show!
I think the name is a reference to the Grinch (Which doesn't make sense since it's not a Christmas special), or is actually the people's opinion of the show.
This episode gives me the confidence to start watching "Sofia the First". Never watched it when I was younger, I regret it, I want to fix that mistake.
