I completely just learned that a Capital One charge off on my credit reports are disastrously inaccurate on soo sooo many levels. Thank you 🙏 immensely for this information.
John, would like to see a webinar on just Clarity, Clarity has an updated "How to read your Clarity report" and added promotional inquiries. What types of errors are your customers bring to you that will make you go after Clarity? Your insight on all credit related matters is greatly appreciated. Thx Miles
Hey John, I have I. C. System attempting to collect a debt. So, they a debt validation letter, but form incorrect statements about the debt. The amount and dates are incorrect. Although I understand it could be a mistake on their part. But are those mistakes considered violations according to the "FDCPA?"
I would still do it the same -- ID all the errors, point them out and see what the CRA does with the dispute. Then get it to an FCRA lawyer who can sue. Suing has an amazing effect on deletions. :)
@@johngwatts definitely true. It’s just takes a lot of time to sue for every client, and in credit repair we just want the deletions and be able to move on. Thanks for the response, and the knowledge you give us continuously
This is the best way and what all the top credit repair agencies aim for. Plus your clients will be extremely happy when you win them a 10,000+ judgment.
ok these videos are the best on RUclips.but for heavens sake when are you going to make a video showing an example of a DISPUTE LETTER? give us some actual credit reports and then an example of how you would dispute the charge off on that account, or an example of how you would dispute a collection on another account, step by step.the best possible dispute letter to get a deletion.
The second part of the webinar will be today at 1:00 Central on our webinar platform and then later on today or tomorrow I'll take the recording and post it onto my RUclips channel.
I have tried finding the form on your website to contact you but it may be down. Is your contact form working? If not, please let me know your best email to reach you. Thank you!
What should I do if I get in contact with the creditor and they tell me they don't have no original contract on file for me, no account statements ...nothing! But the account is in Collections. Should I get a letter from the Creditor stating that and send it to the bureaus to come off ?
Great information. Unfortunately I live in Arizona and not Alabama. Can you please refer me to someone in Arizona that you feel would do a proper service like you would do? Thank you
Hey John , I have a question, I had a payment due date of Feb 28th 2023. I haven’t been able to make the payment. Should the 30 day late be reported under feb or March ?
That's an interesting question -- I THINK it would be in March since that's when you hit the 30 days but I'm not sure. Odd to have a payment on the last day of the month. Let me think on this and also if you do see it pop up I would like to know which month they put it on. Hope you can get caught up asap! John
@@johngwatts It actually just updated , they are showing on time for February and 30 days late for March. But where I’m confused is if I never made a payment in February how is it on time ?
Transunion refuses to send reports. I've requested numerous times. I'm hoping to get the Lexis Nexis after several attempts and now sending every piece of identification possible. I made a complaint to the CFPB. The response was 'yes, Transunion is refusing to send a report'.
That’s bizarre. Get with a consumer protection lawyer in your state as you may need to sue Trans Union for failing to give you your disclosure/file. This is section 1681g of the FCRA.
I don't know anyone in Utah but start here: Here is a link to help you find a consumer lawyer www.consumeradvocates.org/find-an-attorney in your state and also here is a video going over how to use the website ruclips.net/video/UNXO7qheGAc/видео.html. Best wishes in Utah! John Watts
Hypothetically speaking, I I found 50 errors on my report, notify CRA, and nothing comes back correct. Would that be $1000 per error for statutory damages under the FCRA?
Typically it is $1000 in total. But that's only if you get to willful violations. And if you get there, you can have punitive damages so the statutory damages don't really matter. Make sure you are telling the CRA EXACTLY what is wrong. Spell it out. Show the CRA the report that has the errors etc. If still not getting anywhere, then get with a consumer lawyer in your state that sues CRAs. Best wishes John Watts
What to do if chase bank sent me a letter informing me they are aware of the expired statue but has decided to continue reporting it to the three reporting agencys, its like they are bullying me and not one agency have removed it, what can i do? i have asked you this twice i know you are busy. Thank you
Sorry I missed your other comments. Normally these time periods are separate. So the Statute of limitations is to sue you. The time period to credit report is something else. Normally 7 years from the date of first delinquency (when you first went delinquent -- 30 days late -- and never brought it current). Its worth looking closely at the reporting on Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union from www.annualcreditreport.com/index.action to see if the reporting is accurate or if there are missing/contradictory information that can be disputed. Best wishes John
@@johngwatts Thank you for responding, yes i did chase contacted me to inform me that they are aware of the staute has been seven yrs but they will continue reporting it on my credit report, and said they have the right to do so
When was the date of first delinquency -- you can find this on your Equifax report. Make sure you are looking at your real reports from www.annualcreditreport.com/index.action. Thanks!
Tiffany great question -- I don't have anything specific but here are some thoughts. Treat this account (tradeline) as any other account. Look for incomplete or inaccurate or inconsistent information. Now the govt/court sometimes has the wrong data -- need to fix it at the source. But sometimes its just the credit bureaus have lousy data and this gives you a chance to dispute.... Best wishes John Watts
Hi John. I’m having a challenge w/understanding date of 1st delinquency. Example - 11/2021 Date of 1st Delinquency reported - Compare to payment history, which shows I paid on time 11/2021 - 12/2021 30 days late - 01/2022 60 days late So 12/2021 will be my 1st date of delinquency NOT 11/2021, right?
Ive had an on time mortgage paynent for 20 years and just recently found the mortgage lien for the total amount listed on my transunion credit report. It's negatively impacting my score. I read that liens were not reported by the agencies after 2018 so why? Is this something that i can dispute?
I’m so glad I didn’t pay someone thousands of dollars to teach me. Thank you so much John.

Hi John Watts, new to your channel. Up late after 11PM with my reports up & ready to actively participate with you in order to learn.
ok this is the nittygritty we need.
I like that -- I should change the title to "nittygritty of finding credit report errors" -- as someone from AL I like this. ;)
