Construction of this project started in the Spring of 2024. Once complete, the Popes Head Road Interchange project coupled with the Fairfax County Parkway widening will result in the reduction of 12 million hours of delay from 2027-2040. This project will also help over 70,000 people every day on the Fairfax County Parkway as improvements are made between Route 123 and Route 29.
    Project details:
Traffic signals will be replaced at Fairfax County Parkway (Route 286) and Popes Head Road (Route 654) with an interchange.
The interchange will feature triple roundabouts that will allow traffic to flow freely via two new bridges over Fairfax County Parkway.
Shared-use path linking the Fairfax County Parkway Trail to the future Patriot Park.
Reconstructing the Fairfax County Parkway Trail
    And much more!

Thank you for keeping the roundabouts to one lane thickness and for not slapping slip lanes on them. These roundabouts will be good
