Phil is a true good person, his wife and kids are also salt of the earth people. I was the medic for one of his shows recently and him and his family said hello and asked how I was everyday. His brother Rich is also great!
Would love to meet them! What an enjoyable show!
Man, I really wish Phil and Anthony had gotten to do something together. I would have loved to see them interact. Super-cool badass Tony and his dorky little brother conquering the world and its cuisines.
Maybe. Then again, they might have been like oil and water as opposed to peas in a pod.
Phil Rosenthal is a true "funny guy" genius!! Such an amazing talent!!!
Larry King is like your school principal, asking you some bunch of questions after he summoned you to his office.
Larry was reading absolutely everything. He was not listening very much to Phil's answers. Just reading the next question. He was already too old to do any interviews. Very sad really!!!!
His curiosity always made me smile!!!
Love the juxtaposition between Larry's monosyllabic questions and comments and Phil bouncing around like a pinball!
I LOVE Phil!!!!!!!!! Can’t wait for the next season to come on Netflix ❤️
Phil is a genius with a big heart.
Phil is wonderful...his kindness, humor and joy of life helped me get through the Orange Bigly years.
Travel is the greatest education- and it's fun! I kinda resented the idea of someone "replacing" the irreplaceable Tony Bourdain, but Phil is delightful in his own way, and I'm hooked!
Was a big fan of "Raymond." Love the points Phil made here about food, travel, other cultures, reboots, and the final point about "how do you get your show out there?" Just found your "Somebody Feed Phil" show tonight and watched the Marrakech (on my travel wish list) and Chicago episodes. Loved them both and wish I had found the show sooner. Congratulations.
Awesome interview! I was just today told to go find Phil for food and travel... had no idea he created ELR. And the energy created by your two different personalities and styles contributed to the magic of the exchange. I agree with you Larry - Phil is delightful as are you. Good luck to both of you going forward. 🙏👍
Love Phil and Monica. Watched them over n over and Everone loves Ramon .
Phil was a genius coming up with ELR. One of the best comedies ever.
Phil is so brilliant.
And funny, humble along with being married to a beautiful funny angel named Monica.
How interesting that he named Art Carney as a "childhood crush". I was thinking he reminded me of Art Carney as soon as the interview began.
I understand Larry's antipathy towards the travel part of getting to and from places. Once you get older, sitting on a plane for eight hours or more, with screaming babies, gets old. However, if I had a Larry's income, I wouldn't mind being pampered in first class however long it took. For some people, variety is the spice of life while others prefer what they're used to.
love you phil
I love Phil😊😊😊
Love Phil
LOVE PHIL ROSENTHAL! He is so genuine. I'd love to go to dinner with him. I'm paying!
This is a good interview. I like Phil.
He is wonderful ❤
I like Phil.
i love this guy.
This is GREAT 👍
Someone check Larry’s pulse
Fantastic interview. Love Phil!! ❤️❤️❤️
omg if there is sth like too enthusiastic it is himmmmm
"They know!" 😂
Awww..love these guys
I think Peter Boyle's character Frank Barone in ELR has the same mannerisms and way of speaking as Phil Rosenthal. The same bug-eyed eye movements, intonation, nebbishy way of asking questions and so on. I'm sure he mimicked Phil when acting in that role. Either that, or he picked up Phil's mannerisms by osmosis through working with him so closely.
I'm late to the Larry King party and I know he's no longer with us, but was there ever a time when he would take something a guest says and explore, or has he always just chugged through the scripted notes?
I look all in one week it´s like eating chips can´t stop till the end
I want Gary Vaynerchuck and Phil Rosenthal to do a DNA test. They gotta be close cousins.
these dinamics in this though.😆 Hang in there Phill😆 I'm watching thinking they might start to match each other's energy aventually.... but no.😂 Im still watching though. My guess is Phill is going to start dictating the tempo aventually.😂
Did Phil hit Larry’s car in the parking lot just before this interview? Good Lord Golem, could you be any less inviting? Two ends of the spectrum here with these two.
I want Phil to my friend
I have a show idea.. Somebody is following Phil.. where I follow Phil and get all his leftovers.
Phil's great, Larry not so much
😂😂😂
I love Phil Rosenthal. But I recall many years ago there was an episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond" which was CHOCK FULL of the most rancid homophobia I had ever seen. It was vile, and I was so shocked by it that I could never watch another episode of that TV show. Phil, what were you thinking when you made that hateful episode?
Larry King looks so uninterested lmao
I'm not even sure Larry King's alive during this interview.
Have people commenting on Phil Rosenthal ever watched his food oriented show? He's rude, dismissive, and almost the polar opposite to Bourdain - who some are comparing him to - it's as if we entered into Bizarro world.
I love them both
I agree with you-they have very different personalities. But I’ve never seen a single example in which Phil displays any of the characteristics you mentioned. If he did, you can bet he would edit them out of the show. He’s always very conscientious, kind and generous to people he meets, wants the best for them, and seems genuinely appreciative and delighted in his work and his life.
I want Gary Vaynerchuck and Phil Rosenthal to do a DNA test. They gotta be close cousins.
Except Gary Vee is a total con man.
