My older brother gave me his 1987 Trek 520 Cirrus shortly before he died. I ride streets and trails. This bike has been nothing short of superb. High marks to Trek.
A year ago I bought a new bike. I didn't plan to do any kind of racing, and I just wanted a bike, where I could feel comfortable. According to your recommendations I should have chosen a Domane. However I ended up buying an Emonda SL6 (2017 version with Ultegra 6800 including traditional non-direct mounted rim brakes), and I am really satisfied with it. A couple of months ago I signed up as member of the local cycling club, and when we are doing group rides, I feel that my bike is helping me to keep up with riders, who are much more experienced than me. I also got it at a really fair price - just a little above my original budget. Maybe some time I will upgrade with carbon wheels, but so far I am satisfied with the aluminium wheels.
I had several bikes , started with a Trek 1500 SLR , had a Ridley noah fast , specialized venge , and now I have an Emonda SL5. This is the best bike I ever had in mean of performance , comfort etc. I wouldn't want anything else. period.
Very interesting. Got my Precision Bike Fit next week in readiness for a new bike. My dream bike is a nice Trek red Madone, but that may be a bit too expensive and aggressive geometry for me. So I think maybe a Domane may be a better match. Disc brakes are a must, as I learnt whilst getting caught in a thunderstorm in a Pyrenees descent a few weeks back.
I prefer the Rocinante H1X 2018 recently premiered by John Holden at the Belt. It has something like an alien stealth tech which is a complete game-changer in this age.
How to choose frame? I am 6 ft 3 inches. I think 56 is my frame size Domane AL3 which is available in India, as 56 is only for 5 ft 10 inches only as mentioned in website. My question is if I buy the frame 56 and can adjust the saddle height to my ride position will be equal to the frame size 61?
Treks are nice But when I got on Derosa king xs with Campagnolo Record I love it .there nice it's what your prefe I just hate that most Treks cannadale specialized Felt are mass production now its pretty sad that Giant owns 90% of those bikes now for cheaper labor that's why I chose Derosa a smaller company that's takes pride in there bikes Like Colnago .I know they get there material from Japan but at least I dont have to worry about if they did great job like my Felt bike was pile of shit .hell I spent lot money on my Rode bike and I feel the difference was it worth it yes . I would never get Aero bike that just increase couple mph .
And when you build such a great commute/road bike with "BULLHORN HANDLE BAR" be sure to name it the.... Or you ready for this?... Okay... The... Get ready now... "TREK RODEO"... TREK'S first BULLHORN HANDLE BAR BIKE... No idea charge, just make the bike...
I want it all, so why buy a bike and not rent it? With renting the quality is going up. No expensive vendor-locked components that don't exists over 2 years. So can I rent a bike for 200 dollars a year?
Had one recently as a rental bike. Don't normally ride road bikes but this one felt very comfortable. I had the AL3 model but I didn't really test it off road.
Please Trek, make head tubes shorter on size 54 road bikes again. I can no longer buy Trek road bikes because I can't get the handlebars slammed any longer.
I just rode my FX2 today for the first time. So fast, climbs great, perfect for my 62yr old body. Love, love it. Thanks

that is sad and joyful at the same time.

I really enjoy riding my Emonda SL 6. Had mine for about a year and ride almost every day. Carbon fiber is amazing.
Is it comfortable for all day riding?
@@ajchaskar for sure
I'll go for Domane, perfect for Round Island Cycling in Singapore
2021 Checkpoint ALR-5 Love it. looking forward to years of riding!

Step 6. Is getting approval from your wife to expand your budget enough for a Project One bike.
Mike Wesner 😂 true
Haha I have found it’s extremely hard to convince her when you want new 🚲 specially it’s going to cost over $10k...😂
Brother.. we need to start a revolution from here.. I’ll grab my bike 👊🏻💪🏻😠
Hahahaha
bunch of pussies
This is a good explanation on how to chose a rode bike .
I want a Madone with disc brakes. . . rumors (and pictures) out of France are suggesting it might be coming!
I swear on disk brakes on my trek, saved my ass more times than I remember especially on dripping wet. Thanks guys 😘😘

Emonda H2 is the best. Direct mount brakes for good tire clearance. Its comfy and light.
Σ(・ω・ノ)ノ
I want the H2 fit but I want the ISO speed ;_;
@@Veep_The_Goblin_Hermit Same. I want the Emonda with the ISO speed with an Ultegra groupset!
I have a Domane SL7 DDi2 and enjoying riding it
Emonda and Madonne, I love both.
ill choose checkpoint or domane for comfort
Madone, the sexiest bike on the planet. A dream to be able to afford one!!
A lotto win this Christmas would be the ticket...:-) :-) :-)
Great product!!! Would buy again.
I prefer the Rocinante H1X 2018 recently premiered by John Holden at the Belt. It has something like an alien stealth tech which is a complete game-changer in this age.
They left out the trek 520, which is really the ultimate road bike.

Fantastic video and fantastic bike;
I don't have a words
One day I'll own one of your emonda bikes💪💪💪💪
“There’s nothing you can’t do on a road bike”
Except mountain biking
Lask week emonda slr 2019 price went from 2999 to 3300. What happened there ?
Inflation? Just a wild guess
.This is great and short informative video. I bought The Thorn Nomad for bike touring, it is a good bike but so heavy
I bought my road bike used off some guy in my neighborhood - it gets the job done. I’d like one of these Trek bikes but way out of my budget. Peace.
Awesome video !
Como quisiera tener apoyo para comprar una y salir a entrenar en ella pero soy de Ecuador y no hay apoyo

PATENT THAT RIGHT NOW.
Je veux juste le Domane al3 et je serais heureux...

Since you’re asking, no, you can not.
U can come here to Kyoto and have granny bike for 500 yen per day
At Rapha with a $200 yearly membership you can rent a high-end road bike for $25 a day.
They should be this descriptive with cars.
Great for the price.
Checkpoint is awesome on the road, don’t count it out as a road bike, especially if you live somewhere with shitty roads
Had one recently as a rental bike. Don't normally ride road bikes but this one felt very comfortable. I had the AL3 model but I didn't really test it off road.
roadbike in trails and mountain how's that possible?????????????????????
Its price is very high..my dream bike..
BEST T. R. E. K🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷👪👪👪
The best Road bike is my Road Bike...i am so Happy with it. 😎😎😎
Ride a road bike it's something different.
Disc brakes spoilt the good look of the bicycles.
Mountain bikes for dayz
Urban commute road/gravel bikes built with "BULLHORN HANDLE BARS" come on TREK let's make it happen...
for me
#bringbackthesuperfly
All I want is the superfly hard tail to live on.
Yes, I agree. I have 2013 Superfly AL Elite. Love it! Excaliber is OK, but welds and all it's not the same quality. Superfly is a keeper!
Just ride
Please Trek, make head tubes shorter on size 54 road bikes again. I can no longer buy Trek road bikes because I can't get the handlebars slammed any longer.
Step 5. Your bike should be a Trek.
Got 50mi on a dolo lol
Step one should have been all 4 steps. The other 3 should have been step 5
You forgot to mention the fastest roadbike, Speed Concept...
I know something you can’t do on a road bike, mountain bike
bianchi oltre.....
bullshit. the holy grail of bike frames is steel. no fatigue, extremely confy and light, therefore has all the advantages of the builder's triangle.
Step 6. Cut a hole in the box.
but i'm a MTBer
Stuck at step 2 again !
first thing: BUDGET.. these bike r sooo fuckin expensive
Good luck with a road bike on nasty singletrack...
you cant mountan bike on a road bike
Or, you get a mountain bike
다 이해하겠는데 가격에서 우선멈춤
인정요..
yes this is for you, not me haha
There’s really nothing you can’t do with a road bike. You can’t ride any kind of mtb on one😎
