Watching Evan struggle a bit with removing these struts made me laugh. The top bolt on the front of most Subaru's is an eccentric bolt, which sets the camber. With coil overs you can delete that. Also those are Pink STI struts. Sell those. Quite valuable.
Remember guys when lowering a GD body style Subaru, the front wheel arches sit higher than the rears. So you must lower the front more than the rear to achieve optimal stance
Great job Evan! I remember installing my old Omni-power coils on one of my DC2 Integra's it was a coastal car and like dude said before, rusted bolts like a mofo! Had to take a torch to one of them that was completely seized. If you guys are ever looking for sponsors I know a bunch of people out here in AZ including dudes at Black Market Racing, Full Race Motorsports, Hondata, K-Sport and K-Tuner!
Love the video and remind me right now that I just bought my car and it’s there’s actually the same but it needs a little bit of work😂 first car building it slow
I saw it on IG (either IG or Twitter, can't remember) a few days ago. I don't think they meant to post it yet, because like a few hours later the picture wasn't there, but still. Kind of an easter egg for keen viewers.
JDM crew yeah but he just showed it in stock form, not with the divider/stabilizer bits installed. We knew it was coming, just not with those added to it lol.
I know this is a very late comment, but remove that weather stripping in the rear wheel well. That’s what causes the typical “Subaru rust” on the rear quarter. Also, are you selling those STI coils? I have an 04 STi and wanna put new coils in it.
I'm going to be putting some coils on my 06 WRX, and was wondering, do I need the whole tie rod/ball joint kit to go with lowering it or is that just more recommended? Any advice before I lower would be greatly appreciated.
I see you did not need spacers…I need some bc I’m running a 9 inch tire from a 06-11 wrx on a bugeye for those looking to upgrade to coilovers and save you the trouble.
When you say the recommended preload amount, is that specific for the coilovers you are using or could/should I apply the same mount to Primo Racelands I have?
I recently got the fortune auto 500 coilovers for my 04 STi. On the rear struts does it matter which way they are rotated? The OEM tophats say "4wd out" on one side to indicate the outside of the car.
Answered my own question, it doesn't matter they will only fit in one way. Another thing to be careful of that's not mentioned in this video is.. on the rear shocks the lower mounting bolt holes are oval shaped to allow for a small amount of camber adjustment so be careful of which way you're pushing on the hub when tightening it down. Got me good lol
To start. ABS sensor line. Not even close to a 13mm. They didn’t break loose because Subaru strut bolts are oval to keep them from rolling themselves out. You were impacting from the wrong side. After witnessing the first two min of this I’m leaving. ✌🏽
Are you actually a mechanic? Cause why do you keep puting your breaker bar or rattle gun on the bolt side and not the nut side? Thats why you keep having problems cracking them lol
"you gotta remove the back seats"
*laughs in hatchback*
Tyler Smith I know right
*Laughs in gutted*
It’s actually very easy to take it off, it only takes like 5 minutes 😂
0 minutes is better
Yeah but then you own an ugly ass hatch 😂
@@hypnopanda1929 wagons look sexy 🤷🏻♂️🤡
So much easier on cars that's aren't rusted all over... Took me two days on my STi after a couple broken bolts haha
We know what you mean! The entire crew is originally from midwest/East coast and all too familiar with rusty bolts/nuts!
haha true that, at least you have clean Califonia cars now!
That's exactly why whenever I touch my 02 wrx, first thing I do is spray any nuts or bolts I'm touching with penetrant
Having the right tools can make a huge difference in any job.
Michael Bacon just a lift makes a hell of a difference
TALENT, TOOLS, EXPERIENCE, PATIENCE. Is the key.
If you have to make a video a little longer just so you can go into detail about every step is completely fine brother. I enjoy long videos!!
Watching Evan struggle a bit with removing these struts made me laugh.
The top bolt on the front of most Subaru's is an eccentric bolt, which sets the camber. With coil overs you can delete that.
Also those are Pink STI struts. Sell those. Quite valuable.
Tip... use floor jack to hold it up while removing 👍🏻
+1
Remember guys when lowering a GD body style Subaru, the front wheel arches sit higher than the rears. So you must lower the front more than the rear to achieve optimal stance
GD guys should also know they are Macpherson suspension arms all around and benefit from inverted dampers. Which these are not.
THIS IS THE VIDEO YOU NEED FOR TEIN FLEX Z COILOVERS, THANKYOU FOR THE DETAILS !!

Man I want this car even more now!!!
Hell yeah Fortune Auto! I actually just got my FA500's for my 18 wrx today
Next wing install and Debadge Subaru letters and good quality LED conversion.
Fuck the DEBadge bullshit
Always loved subies since i was going into highschool, looking just great guys!
Showing love from N.C. Y’all kick ass! 🤟🏽
Nice work Beckerman! I did my air suspension solo, seemed to go faster than with help. I like getting in that zone.
Car looks great! Spacer in the rear would be perfect
FORTUNE AUTO REPING VA !!!!!!! Hell yea !!!!
Love the video and remind me right now that I just bought my car and it’s there’s actually the same but it needs a little bit of work😂 first car building it slow
Loving that Rev till Death merch, gotta snag me some of that! 💀
most beautiful looking car
Anyone noticed the STI wing with wing stabilizers at 17:10??
I saw it on IG (either IG or Twitter, can't remember) a few days ago. I don't think they meant to post it yet, because like a few hours later the picture wasn't there, but still. Kind of an easter egg for keen viewers.
Mickey kinda dropped the ball on that one a while ago though. Almost 3 weeks ago.

JDM crew yeah but he just showed it in stock form, not with the divider/stabilizer bits installed. We knew it was coming, just not with those added to it lol.
They already revealed the wing ages ago
doesn't lowering a car always looks good!!
7:57 *Shout out to all the moms out there*
This car is so fresh
How to? .. And we see how to put the wheel back on or bring the car down on the hoist but nothing on adjusting. Great video
OG work out in the garage working on the wrx
The main reason why coils are the first mods on cars
I will gladly buy those struts you took out, if they fit on my STI blob eye. Looks like they should
Email us at info@throtl.com!

Throtl BA squad 😊🤙🏽
Shouldve used some floor jacks to hold the hub up while you were getting the struts out
6:56 I swear this dude moaned
It came out nice.
very nice video , What is the front screw nut size?
I'm going to be putting some coils on my 06 WRX, and was wondering, do I need the whole tie rod/ball joint kit to go with lowering it or is that just more recommended? Any advice before I lower would be greatly appreciated.
Where can I get a front bumper like that 😁
Are you ever going to put the wing on??? Like damn I wanna see that
Pretty limited with tools, time, and space? What tools I’ll need to buy and how long does it take?
what sideskirts and front lip mod is that? i love it, want it for mines.
Great videos. Got a WRX myself. You guys offer services in installation of parts.
Thank you! No sorry we don’t take on outside work currently!
When it comes to impact tools especially i dont fuck with electric ones unless im traveling of course
It’s been 3 years since you’ve left this comment, I can tell you the electric tools have improved a lot that I hope you carry them now
Are you guys not longer selling these in your website?
@5:31 how did you remove the brake line clamp thing?
Commenting because I just did this. You have to slide them out. Theyre just a pain and a half
What is the length of the coilovers on front and rear??
Any luck on those center caps??? I been keeping an eye out but haven’t come across em
Let's get it!!
Hmmm makes me want to a wrx watching this build. Since here in MN they are cheap, but the ruuuusssttt lol
First because I’m in the notification squad
09 sti coilover would fit in a 06 impreza?
I see you did not need spacers…I need some bc I’m running a 9 inch tire from a 06-11 wrx on a bugeye for those looking to upgrade to coilovers and save you the trouble.
What is the overall height of the suspensions. I have the same suspension and I will like to get the same height on my 07 STI. Thanks
When you say the recommended preload amount, is that specific for the coilovers you are using or could/should I apply the same mount to Primo Racelands I have?
Someone is seriously going to be happy when that car is done!! ?
Can you put wrx/sti coilovers on a gx impreza?
It could use some spacers though
I signed up on july 👌
how did you fix the camber on the back wheels??
I need that jdm lip...
I swap my 04 wrx to 04 5 ×100 sti Knuckles and axel rear and front. My question is. i buy the wrx coilovers or sti coilovers??
What front lip is that?
All this thing needs is wheel spacers and jdm fog lights. Fuck looks so good. Hope yall got rid of that cat in the uppipe!
pleas instaled new hedlights
What front bumper is that????
Probably need some spacers on the rear..
What size oh are the bolts attaching the the hub to strut?
19mm
I recently got the fortune auto 500 coilovers for my 04 STi.
On the rear struts does it matter which way they are rotated? The OEM tophats say "4wd out" on one side to indicate the outside of the car.

All the musics in the video?
You're supposed to loosen the nut to begin with, not the bolt.
Looks like one should have used floor jacks and also the brakes look iffy. A lot of coil overs like BC have the preload pre set.
You don’t have to strip the coil overs off the car to lower
anyone know what front lip they have?
I really wish I had the tools
abs sensor
rims name ?
This is probably weird but personally on Subies and Evos I only really like them sitting high but I’m the complete opposite for every other Car.
just use some damn floor jack to support the hub
i'll be doing this in about 2 days haha
Hope this is helpful!
Never seen on yt wow
Next, STI wing!!
Hint. Watch the video again. 🧐
couple Ricky's Porsche project content?
That's the first aftermarket bumper I actually like. What's it called?
Needs wider wheels
So when are we gonna address TJs new energy drink sponsor?
Should have painted the springs to match the car
WHADUP SHREKERMAN
buy some wheels nuts for it !
He got all that time to make a car but not enough time to respond or talk to his viewers in the comment section
lol not true! :)
Dylan Willey fell for the bait
S Furm haha yea he did😂 I’m still happy to see a RUclips channel actually interact with subscribers
You got us!
throtl who actually runs all the comments and actually replies? Is it a combination of all of you guys or do you hire an editor?
1:40 that's ABS sensor
11:00 not how you lower the car lol
It is exactly how you lower it on coils !
Good video but way to many commercials bro.
To start. ABS sensor line. Not even close to a 13mm. They didn’t break loose because Subaru strut bolts are oval to keep them from rolling themselves out. You were impacting from the wrong side. After witnessing the first two min of this I’m leaving. ✌🏽
Next mod. Get some proper tools shouldn't need to use step up or down adaptors.
needs son spacers
Needs some spacers for those wheels and it would be perfect.
That’s the plan!
Its a WRX its suppose to be rally car not monster truckin.
17:30 Thank me Later
Skipped a lot seemingly at random
Here
Are you actually a mechanic? Cause why do you keep puting your breaker bar or rattle gun on the bolt side and not the nut side? Thats why you keep having problems cracking them lol
wrong side foo🤣🤣👍
