I have built these for years. A soccer ball is a "Truncated Icosohedron". It is one of 13 Convex Archimedian Solids. There is a great resources for these object. Downland "Stella 4-D" It gives all the miteres of all 13 Archimedian solids and much more. I have developed some much simpler techniques for setting the required angles and assembly. Let me know how we can get in touch and I will be happy to share them with you.
Challenging piece. You took it head on. Just a little bit more precision in the angles than your chop saw will give and you’ll have those joints dead on. Good job.
Thank you very much. I just wanted to challenge myself, the result was okay, with better tools I can probably do better but I'm not making another one 😅
This was cool. Papa1947 on RUclips did one but it was so detailed that I was afraid of trying to make one.....this was so clearly illustrated that I think I could make one. What was the contrasting wood for the spots. Assuming the majority was pine.ruclips.net/video/w9WHftQhEZg/видео.html
Thank you very much. Thanks for sharing the video to thepapa1947, that was a more impressive football. I won't be as talented as him. I used beech as the pentagons and the rest is pine from an old piece of furniture. Thanks again 👍
It amazes me how you work out the angles needed. Beautiful work.
Thank you, I learn from youtube 🙂
Please tell me the cutting sizes for hexagons and pentagons
