Woodturning a Football / Soccerball

Thought I give it a shot, couldn't quite get it perfectly round. Inspired by a Japanese woodworker so I didn't understand what he said but did as he did.

Challenging piece. You took it head on. Just a little bit more precision in the angles than your chop saw will give and you’ll have those joints dead on. Good job.

This was cool. Papa1947 on RUclips did one but it was so detailed that I was afraid of trying to make one.....this was so clearly illustrated that I think I could make one. What was the contrasting wood for the spots. Assuming the majority was pine.ruclips.net/video/w9WHftQhEZg/видео.html
