- This video demonstrates how to troubleshoot, remove and install the blower motor in a 2000 Dodge Caravan. The procedure is similar for other Chrysler Corporation minivans made from 1996 to 2002, such as the Plymouth Voyager and Chrysler Town and Country.

Thank you, I know this is an older video but I am glad it is here. Very informative and a nice format.
Thank you for taking the time in showing how to remove and replace a blower motor.
This is the kind of automotive "how to" I like. Not to long and he isn't trying to show us how smart he is. Instructions by somebody who knows what they are doing to somebody who knows what they are doing but hasn't done this this particular task in this particular car. Took me less than 5 minutes to remove mine with this help. Walked up with all the right tools in hand opened the door and went at it. Thanks Original Mechanic!
You're welcome. I'm so glad this video helped you!
Great video. Clear instructions. Couldn't have asked for better. We're chillin' now, thank you.
Thank you very much. Even I can do this. You've made my cold weather driving so much better.
Thank you so much for the video. My husband was a mechanic and is now disabled so he showed me a lot of repairs, but he was unable to help me with this and because we are in a fixed income this truly helped. One thing i found was you don't have to disconnect the battery, once the switch is off you have no current running to it. Also before fully installing the blower you can connect it and see if it is in fact needing to be replaced. Thank you again this really helped.
You're welcome. I disconnect the battery anytime I'm working near an airbag. Glad you found the video helpful and thanks for the comment!
Awesome video. After getting all the necessary tools, the job was fairly easy. Did not need to get ripped off by an auto repair shop!!
I truly appreciate this video and the work it took you to make it, it is hard enough to do the job and add to that that you have to hold the camera or phone to video tape it.
Thanks
Thank you my friend. From Monterrey, México
Thanks to your video my A/C is now ice cold! Thanks so much for posting this. With this video I was able to tackle pulling out my fan, then pulling one from a pull-a-part yard and now I'm driving comfortable again.
Glad this video helped you get comfortable again!
Great video. It gave me the courage to give it a try. Probably saved at least $75 labor. Took a little while to get things lined up for reassembly, but what the heck. I'm retired.
This looks more like my fan blower housing than what I was looking at in the Chilton's repair manual for 96 to 02 Caravan/ Voyager/ Grand Caravan and Town and Country. Thank you!
Just completed changing out the front blower motor on my 2001 grand voyager. This video was super helpful. Completed it in about 20 min. Thanks for posting, great help☺
You're welcome. Thanks for the feedback.
God bless you. I was getting ready to pay $200 to somebody else for this job. Not any more!
Simple no cake how to, thanks for vid.
Many thanks for the video, great instructions! I'm gonna need to do that to my '01 Voyager soon and this video gave me a good insight, whether to do or not to do myself (I'm not a mechanic at all). I have tested the fuses and relays, but they seem to be fine, so that's the next one to try. It's pretty awful not to have working blower during the minusdegrees. :) I've done that same replace to several VW Passat's and Golf's, but it's a bit different with them. Seems to be a bit easier with VW's to be honest. Greetings from Finland! :)
Good luck with your repair. I would put this at a difficulty of level of 3 on a scale of 1 to 10.
great video and awesome camera. I think I'll have to do this, my motor is starting to make noise right when summer is starting :)
Very helpful video. Thank you
Great job and great instructions! Thank you immensely!!!
You're welcome. Glad you found this useful.
Help me to get the job done with the very useful details. Thank you, Original Mechanic!
You're welcome. I'm glad you were able to get use of the video and thanks for the comment.
Great video, I can do this and it’ll save me a lot of money. Thank you for your dedication.
Thanks! I sent link to my dad, he'll do fine thanks to you!
Thank you for grate video. It is just right time for me to change the blower. It is cold outside and without heating inside the car is not good. :)
this video helped me out very much. thanks awesome
You're welcome and thanks for watching!

Great video thank you I’m doing mine tomorrow
You're welcome. Good luck with it!

You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
good work men
I was coming home today and the blower motor went. I hoped it was the resistor but no such luck. Thanks for the video... very nice job. Ps. This is a double job.... I have a Caravan and a Town and Country of the same year... putting the Caravan fan motor in the Town and Country since the Caravan is dying anyway.
Thank you so much.....Joey Ray
Thanks great vid ...only problem was on mine they put the rear screw from the TOP DOWN ! All I could do was break it .. Thanks for crazy glue .wish I could add the pic I took of it
Thank you so much
Just checked the drain plugs, there fine but the rubber seal from the windshield assembly was shot. Thanks for your help
You're welcome. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thanks!
Thanks better video
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
hey man I wrote to you before about my breaks you where abig help ok I have the med high speed out not working I replaced the blower resistor and had to splice in a new connector the same thing is happening dose that mean the blower motor is not working in that one spot when I turn on the switch to the med high? I also tried another heating assembly I got from the junkyard so I know it's not the speed switch can u help me figure this one out please?
Hey. sounds like you covered everything I can think of. I don't think the blower motor has separate windings for the the various speeds. All that's left is wiring and that can be a nightmare. Toughie!
After replacing motor and resistor now the only thing that doesn't work is the highest air setting. Any ideas?
Hey I know it’s been a long time since you posted this video, but I’m hoping you can help me. Do you know where the cabin air filter is located in the 2000 grand caravan? I can’t find that information anywhere. Thanks.
Sorry I do not and have long since retired the van. Perhaps another viewer knows.
Thanks trying to heip a friend out, first got to find the leak that caused the motor to blow
Water can enter area via the drain plugs are under the windshield wiper assembly
Great video, however my 2002 caravan was not at all like this. I ended up taking my parts to a mechanic to install.
good video brother
thanks for watching and commenting!
The Original Mechanic just bought a 2000 voyager for my daughter. it has a few minor quirks. the fan only blue on high when we got it but now it does not blow it all. I figure I need a resistor and the fan motor. I put straight voltage to the motor and got nothing
Hey just replace My blower motor resistor because I couldn’t change the setting but I still not getting no heat , do you think by me changing my blower it will help
The best way is to use a meter or at least an electrical test light to find out where the power is and isn't. Troubleshooting with parts is expensive and often disappointing.
Pues tengo una Chrysler Town country 1996, y no encuentro el filtro de cabina para reemplazarlo
My went out 3 days ago and I put a blend door actuator but still didn't work so next is the blower motor
I cant pull my blue and black chord out like you...the bottom is solid
Do you know where the blend door actuator of one of these T&C 2000 Vans is located?
Of all the repairs I've done on this van, I have never done the blend door actuator.
@@TheOriginalMechanic thank you, no problem
w2jay happens if it doesnt pass calibration
You take me there🎶...✌👽🍺
Dónde lleva el filtro de cabina?
Price on blower motor
Does the 99 Dodge Caravan have a CABIN AIR FILTER?
I don't think so.
That one screw hidden in the back / forward is a BITCH to get out if there is the padding on it / fire wall
From guatemala tanks
Wish mine was that easy.. mine is a 2001 and has a screw in the back hidden from sight.. pain in the ass.. I cant get it
you should turn the volume down more
My 2001 is totally different. It's a pain in the ass.
youd probably be able to use a nut driver instead of a ratchet :)
Thanks so much. Being a single female I hate calling my ex to fix things I might be able to do myself and now when I need something fixed I can judge the difficulty and know a little more about how much money to offer someone to fix it.

I guess if it works for your application, then you won’t have a problem, but for what I am doing and what you say it will work with or is the same.! It will not go to a 2001 Chrysler town and country.
Doesn't look like this is for a 2002
THANK YOU. I AM NOT A MECHANIC. I NEED TO DO THIS MYSELF. WHY? A NATION WIDE SHOP IN SALT LAKE WANTED $744.00 TO REPLACE THE SAME HEATER FAN MOTOR! TALK ABOUT THIEVES AND ROBBERS! I UNDERSTAND IT ONLY TAKES 1 HOUR TO REPLACE THIS FAN MOTOR AND 35.00 FOR THE PART. MOST MECHANIC SHOPS ARE NOT HONEST!.
Cloverfield
I’m going to have to disagree with this video highly on some models yes but it does not go over the Chrysler Town & Country 2001
Sorry it didn't apply to your car. Since I made this video I have learned to use words like "may be similar in other models made from 1996 to 2002."
