Isn't it wonderful that God doesn't require us to climb a hundred steps every day, walk over hot coals or flagellate ourselves? He asks us to simply trust Him in all things at all times. What a kind and loving Heavenly Father we have.
Amen! He's given us the easy part while He did the hard part on the cross. That doesn't mean our lives will be easy, but, if we learn how to keep our focus on Him, He will deliver us. His grace is truly amazing.
The only thing God does require is found in the one single New Covenant Commandment which is to Love one another even as the anointed Jesus love's us. In doing so the whole world will know a person is a spiritual Disciplined follower of the true way that leads to life on a daily bases. John 13:34-35 & 15:17 The one word that describe Love is Sacrifice and the only requirement is to present your Body Temple a living sacrifice daily and keep yourself unstopped while in the world. Your Character is the witness to all of creation and Love says it all. Our Creator has given the called out set apart Saints the Spirit of divine Love, Power and God Fear as the witness of being a little Christ which means a Anointed Child. May we all grow in inner spiritual Love, peace and unity daily on our life journey in becoming mature Son's and Daughter's of our Father Source. AMEN
Same here, then I started reading a short Biblical devotion every morning. Reading the Word each day really helped. I of course also asked God for the ability to have faith and”see”the Truth if it was there.

I agree. In the current climate actual facts are obsolete. Definition of a fact has morphed into our own “personal truth”. If people don’t identify with a particular fact it is discarded and everyone must comply or you will be bullied into compliance.

When I have walked through dark times everything seemed exhausting....and just putting one foot in front of the other wore me out. But, look at you! You are walking through this valley you're in right now. Good for you. I know when my Dad died a cousin told me not to be impatient with myself because sometimes a successful day is just breathing. So I do send prayers up that today something gives you hope....that you begin to see a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel. May God help you know that you're not in this alone....He is there with you every moment.... even when it doesn't feel like it. I’ve been struggling with offense and my feelings and need to lean on my faith in god and not my own understanding. I have to be obedient to god and change my ways to please God. Please pray for my deliverance, and for God to reveal who I am, so I can lead as a man of God. 🙏

Breason 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I needed this at this very moment. !!! Since surgery on 7/2. I've felt so empty but keep crying out to the Lord to take this emptiness and refill me with the joy of his salvation.. I still read his word of course and keep praying yet I couldnt feel anything but tears and emptiness... Oh the surgery went horribly sideways but im still here trying to keep moving forward in baby. steps to healing while feeling empty in my soul.. This was truely an answer from God and i'm so grateful for hearing. You today young man!!! 😭😭😭 ❤❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Amen. I tend to struggle with this by getting caught up in how I FEEL about my faith in God instead of just BEING faithful by trusting God and the Bible. It is so much more freeing to trust God than trying to force your emotions to feel a certain way constantly. It's more exciting too as you get to be part of His plans and watch them unfold. I was reading in James a couple of days ago about praying in faith, but to not expect answers if I pray doubting and it made all the difference. Your video reminded me of that scripture and my recent experience just trusting God heard my prayer (1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you."), that I would receive an answer in His time and His way. I just let go of the outcome and the timing and rested in knowing God would handle it - and He did! James 1:6-8 "But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."
Thank you for this great reminder that our faith in God does not depend on our feelings. Like if I feel low, I have weak faith.. As Psalm 62:8 says, Trust in Him at all times O ye people, pour out your hearts to Him for God is our refuge." Amen!! You are right: God has proven Himself to be reliable; He has never failed us, not once. He goes before us, He surrounds us. From Him we can receive discernment, divine wisdom. We must focus not on our feelings but on His attributes, His mighty Names, His promises, His faithfulness. In every season of our life, as believers we are to reflect His character. We are to be constant in our faith, confident, courageous, knowing that He is in control, He has never failed, and we can ask for help, for courage, for discernment, for peace, and He is faithful to deliver those to us.

I was trying to illustrate what faith in Jesus was to my wife so I used a scenario where by you’re waiting at a pre agreed location for your date to turn up. Trust is not worrying if the person you’re waiting on will be there. Why? Well because you know the person you’re waiting on. He’s ten minutes late but you don’t worry or give up on him because he promised to be there and it’s because of who he is that you wait until he comes.

Sometimes, when I feel despondent about my situation.. I remember God let my cat visit me in spirit form shortly after his passing. I get so caught up in fear, exhaustion, and angst, and the reality of Gods love to provide me with such closure that my babies leave this world and remain in good hands is such a blessing. Before realising my connection with God, he wrote a poem through my pen when I was on a long train ride about 10 years ago. He is amazing. I think the uncertainty of life gets me down. I will be glad when it is over, and I get to be at peace once and for all. God's will ❤
Thank you! This video is such a good lesson on faith. I especially love the analogy of feelings being like the weather and God's truth being like a calendar. Circumstances are the same as feelings, they come and go, too. But, keeping our confidence in God and our focus on God (not on negative feelings, thoughts, and circumstances) is what faith is about.

Perfect timing, thank you! I’m doing a personal, line by line, Bible study of Ephesians currently, and wanted to deep dive into more interpretations of faith. Dismissing our “feeings”, and replacing it with Gods word is HUGE! I had a lightbulb moment. If we don’t feel gods presence, but His Word says he is always with us, that stands true. Not, our human feeling in the moment .. etc.. Thank you for that interpretation! 🙏🏼
Dear brother, thanks for sharing your thoughts! I definitely understand where you come from. There are so many christians these days who emotionalize the faith. Furthermore, it is common these days to confuse spirituality with emotionality. In fact, it can be very hard for christians who focus much on emotions because these christians tend to be like a flag in the wind. One day they are on fire (and I mean extremely on fire) but somehow they are completely down the next day. This is no spiritual maturity. Yet, this is often turned down since somehow there is this idea that being spiritual implies being emotional and thus, it can be very hard to deal woth such brothers and sisters since they are not able to identify the root of the problem. This being said, it is also dangerous to do what I call "intellectualization" the faith. Faith is nothing you do in your head. "But what does it say? 'The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart' - that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." (NASB1995) So we see that faith is actually something which one does with his heart. Now, one has to understand that in contrast to contemporary symbolism the heart represents the whole inner man according to hebrew tradition. This is why the scripture often times has formulations like "thinking in your heart" because the hebrew thinks in his heart, not his head. So we the that faith has to get into the most inner part of a man which implies understanding, being convinved of it, being committed to it and being emotionally attached to it. Here are some general but rather less known points regarding faith, all coming from the bible: 1. Faith is nothing solely intellectual 2. Faith is trust 3. Faith is obedience 4. Faith is manifested in actions 5. Faith is a lifestyle 6. Faith does not only mean to believe that Jesus is but also to believe what he said and commanded 7. Faith is hope for things not yet being here So in this regard you are completely right: We need to exercise faith. Be blessed!
God bless you! Some churches seems to push "faith" that is purely emotional as they overlook the Word. Sometimes we Christians are to stand alone. We may face ridicule, various threats, punishments, or worse. Sometimes feelings has nothing to do with Faith.
1- I REALLY appreciate this exposition about faith. It really drove home some principles that I need to grow. But 2- You said that when we feel like our prayers are not being heard we can have faith that He hears our prayers because that's what God's word says. But God's word also gives qualifiers to most all of His promises. For instance, it is written: "If I hide iniquity in my heart, God will not hear me." Therefore if I "feel" like my prayers are not going to His throne of grace. I can't help but think it behooves us to question; am I hiding iniquity in my heart? Likewise, it is written: "If you do not forgive your brother his trespasses neither will your heavenly Father forgive you of your trespasses." Therefore if I "feel" like my (confessed and forsaken) sin/s are not forgiven; it might very well be true and my "feelings" are actually the prompting/s of The Holy Spirit pointing out this vital separation. There are other "what if's" that play havic in my mind that leave credence to my dobt and lack of faith. I sure don't mean to make up points of stumbling for others, I just wanted to prick your brain and hopefully get some feedback that might help me with such constant conundrums that I, and surely others, are plagued by. Im struggling with faith and trust in the Lord and tiredness, anxiety and fear of the future. I struggle with feeling a heavy burden and responsibility on my shoulders and i know Jesus is with me but the thoughts are so intense its very hard to bear. Ive been sharing the gospel to some people but i struggle with people pleasing and it has been very hard, i dont know whats wrong.. I only have my mother as a believing friend and a sister. Feelings should be based on God, His Word and His Truth and His reality. If we base our feelings on circumstance, situations and other forever changing variables, we’re lost.

Very important video here. More of these would be great to help others understand that before faith, we grew up with misinformation; creating wrong thoughts that actually manifest into feelings. If we believe in something it eventually will become the feeling. Example you parents (or significant other) say they love you and eventually you believe it and thus feel it in time. To change our feeling has to begin in the truth and this video is a great start. Believe in God and also believe in me is what Jesus said, otherwise He would not have told you so. Know the truth sets us free and there has to be a real meaning behind that statement and I believe it is by accepting the truth and freedom comes in how you feel by the accepted truth. One seed of faith planted in the mind has a journey to go before it hits the heart, that is where we feel so there is a time delay between truth and feeling the truth. As they say "The Longest Journey you will ever take is the 18 inches from your head to your heart,”

Thank you Matt.Your calendar and season illustration is helpful. This is an important distinction to make. Our feelings are terrible governors and the object of our faith, the Lord Jesus, is faithful and does supply increase of faith. The ordinary means of grace, Scripture and prayer are so important. As we pray back to God His Word and the Holy Spirit shines light on the Lord who teaches us as well as cleansing us from all unrighteousness. There are so many promises, principles and precepts : As you said, ask Him to reveal. And strong expository preaching, where the Bible is expounded, since faith comes by hearing (Romans 10 :17). ❤

Instead of these great big musical extravaganzas called “worship” and “revival” because of all the emotional manipulation and appeal to the limbic system , I’d rather see public Bible readings. Simply picking a book and reading it publicly . No carnival barking , no light show , no Casios or drum sets .
Yes! That’s what we do at our synagogue. Torah portion, then verse-by-verse through the Bible (we’re in John currently). We have lovely worship as well (guitar, piano, violin, no drums-in-a-cage), but everything is based solely in Scripture. We prayed for a congregation like this for years and are so grateful the Spirit led us to this one. ❤

Faith is not a simple feeling, it is a constant awareness of truth, and putting trust the fact. We pray in faith to Jesus, and we read His Word because we trust The Truth, that is God.

I’ve been struggling with offense and my feelings and need to lean on my faith in god and not my own understanding. I have to be obedient to god and change my ways to please God. Please pray for my deliverance, and for God to reveal who I am, so I can lead as a man of God. 🙏

I needed this at this very moment. !!! Since surgery on 7/2. I've felt so empty but keep crying out to the Lord to take this emptiness and refill me with the joy of his salvation.. I still read his word of course and keep praying yet I couldnt feel anything but tears and emptiness... Oh the surgery went horribly sideways but im still here trying to keep moving forward in baby. steps to healing while feeling empty in my soul.. AMEN!! Reminds me of Watchman Nee saying basically “It’s better to not keep telling believers how important faith is, but to rather keep telling them how faithful God is.” As important as faith is, the former doesn’t increase it, but the latter does.
Amen. I tend to struggle with this by getting caught up in how I FEEL about my faith in God instead of just BEING faithful by trusting God and the Bible. It is so much more freeing to trust God than trying to force your emotions to feel a certain way constantly. It's more exciting too as you get to be part of His plans and watch them unfold.
I was reading in James a couple of days ago about praying in faith, but to not expect answers if I pray doubting and it made all the difference. Your video reminded me of that scripture and my recent experience just trusting God heard my prayer (1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you."), that I would receive an answer in His time and His way. I just let go of the outcome and the timing and rested in knowing God would handle it - and He did!
James 1:6-8
"But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."

Thank you for this great reminder that our faith in God does not depend on our feelings. Like if I feel low, I have weak faith.. As Psalm 62:8 says, Trust in Him at all times O ye people, pour out your hearts to Him for God is our refuge." Whatever our state is we can boldly come to His throne of grace and mercy just as we are.

Amen!! You are right: God has proven Himself to be reliable; He has never failed us, not once. He goes before us, He surrounds us. From Him we can receive discernment, divine wisdom. We must focus not on our feelings but on His attributes, His mighty Names, His promises, His faithfulness. In every season of our life, as believers we are to reflect His character. We are to be constant in our faith, confident, courageous, knowing that He is in control, He has never failed, and we can ask for help, for courage, for discernment, for peace, and He is faithful to deliver those to us.

I was trying to illustrate what faith in Jesus was to my wife so I used a scenario where by you’re waiting at a pre agreed location for your date to turn up. Trust is not worrying if the person you’re waiting on will be there. Why? Well because you know the person you’re waiting on. He’s ten minutes late but you don’t worry or give up on him because he promised to be there and it’s because of who he is that you wait until he comes.
daily I live it.... Hashem gave us the insight to know. The flesh still gets in the way yet when returning to Hashem all is gone.

Sometimes, when I feel despondent about my situation.. I remember God let my cat visit me in spirit form shortly after his passing. I get so caught up in fear, exhaustion, and angst, and the reality of Gods love to provide me with such closure that my babies leave this world and remain in good hands is such a blessing. Before realising my connection with God, he wrote a poem through my pen when I was on a long train ride about 10 years ago. He is amazing. I think the uncertainty of life gets me down. I will be glad when it is over, and I get to be at peace once and for all. God's will ❤
Thank you! This video is such a good lesson on faith. I especially love the analogy of feelings being like the weather and God's truth being like a calendar. Circumstances are the same as feelings, they come and go, too. But, keeping our confidence in God and our focus on God (not on negative feelings, thoughts, and circumstances) is what faith is about.
Solid teaching on your part. Believe God’s word. He cannot lie. Feelings/emotions can be deceiving. Study the Bible, and relinquish control to God.

Dismissing our “feeings”, and replacing it with Gods word is HUGE! I had a lightbulb moment. If we don’t feel gods presence, but His Word says he is always with us, that stands true. Dear brother, thanks for sharing your thoughts! I definitely understand where you come from. There are so many christians these days who emotionalize the faith. Furthermore, it is common these days to confuse spirituality with emotionality. In fact, it can be very hard for christians who focus much on emotions because these christians tend to be like a flag in the wind. One day they are on fire (and I mean extremely on fire) but somehow they are completely down the next day. This is no spiritual maturity. Yet, this is often turned down since somehow there is this idea that being spiritual implies being emotional and thus, it can be very hard to deal woth such brothers and sisters since they are not able to identify the root of the problem.
This being said, it is also dangerous to do what I call "intellectualization" the faith. Faith is nothing you do in your head. "But what does it say? 'The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart' - that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." (NASB1995)
So we see that faith is actually something which one does with his heart. Now, one has to understand that in contrast to contemporary symbolism the heart represents the whole inner man according to hebrew tradition. This is why the scripture often times has formulations like "thinking in your heart" because the hebrew thinks in his heart, not his head. So we the that faith has to get into the most inner part of a man which implies understanding, being convinved of it, being committed to it and being emotionally attached to it.
Here are some general but rather less known points regarding faith, all coming from the bible:
1. Faith is nothing solely intellectual
2. Faith is trust
3. Faith is obedience
4. Faith is manifested in actions
5. Faith is a lifestyle
6. Faith does not only mean to believe that Jesus is but also to believe what he said and commanded
7. Faith is hope for things not yet being here
So in this regard you are completely right: We need to exercise faith. Be blessed!

God bless you! Some churches seems to push "faith" that is purely emotional as they overlook the Word. Sometimes we Christians are to stand alone. We may face ridicule, various threats, punishments, or worse. Sometimes feelings has nothing to do with Faith.
"Lord, please strengthen my faith daily" has been part of my prayer for years... Keeps me focused ;-)

1- I REALLY appreciate this exposition about faith. It really drove home some principles that I need to grow. But
2- You said that when we feel like our prayers are not being heard we can have faith that He hears our prayers because that's what God's word says.
But God's word also gives qualifiers to most all of His promises.
For instance, it is written:
"If I hide iniquity in my heart, God will not hear me."
Therefore if I "feel" like my prayers are not going to His throne of grace. I can't help but think it behooves us to question; am I hiding iniquity in my heart?
Likewise, it is written:
"If you do not forgive your brother his trespasses neither will your heavenly Father forgive you of your trespasses."
Therefore if I "feel" like my (confessed and forsaken) sin/s are not forgiven; it might very well be true and my "feelings" are actually the prompting/s of The Holy Spirit pointing out this vital separation.
There are other "what if's" that play havic in my mind that leave credence to my dobt and lack of faith. I sure don't mean to make up points of stumbling for others, I just wanted to prick your brain and hopefully get some feedback that might help me with such constant conundrums that I, and surely others, are plagued by.

Im struggling with faith and trust in the Lord and tiredness, anxiety and fear of the future. I struggle with feeling a heavy burden and responsibility on my shoulders and i know Jesus is with me but the thoughts are so intense its very hard to bear. Feelings should be based on God, His Word and His Truth and His reality.
If we base our feelings on circumstance, situations and other forever changing variables, we’re lost.

Very important video here. More of these would be great to help others understand that before faith, we grew up with misinformation; creating wrong thoughts that actually manifest into feelings. If we believe in something it eventually will become the feeling.
Example you parents (or significant other) say they love you and eventually you believe it and thus feel it in time. To change our feeling has to begin in the truth and this video is a great start.
Believe in God and also believe in me is what Jesus said, otherwise He would not have told you so. Know the truth sets us free and there has to be a real meaning behind that statement and I believe it is by accepting the truth and freedom comes in how you feel by the accepted truth.
One seed of faith planted in the mind has a journey to go before it hits the heart, that is where we feel so there is a time delay between truth and feeling the truth. As they say "The Longest Journey you will ever take is the 18 inches from your head to your heart,”

Our feelings are terrible governors and the object of our faith, the Lord Jesus, is faithful and does supply increase of faith. The ordinary means of grace, Scripture and prayer are so important. As we pray back to God His Word and the Holy Spirit shines light on the Lord who teaches us as well as cleansing us from all unrighteousness. There are so many promises, principles and precepts : As you said, ask Him to reveal. And strong expository preaching, where the Bible is expounded, since faith comes by hearing (Romans 10 :17). ❤

Instead of these great big musical extravaganzas called “worship” and “revival” because of all the emotional manipulation and appeal to the limbic system , I’d rather see public Bible readings. Simply picking a book and reading it publicly . No carnival barking , no light show , no Casios or drum sets .
Yes! That’s what we do at our synagogue. Torah portion, then verse-by-verse through the Bible (we’re in John currently). We have lovely worship as well (guitar, piano, violin, no drums-in-a-cage), but everything is based solely in Scripture.
We prayed for a congregation like this for years and are so grateful the Spirit led us to this one. ❤
