The support for the Watersnake T24S electric motor is represented by a rectangular aluminum bar that has two other cylindrical bars that fit 90 degrees into the main bar at the height of the two scuppers, the water drainage holes of the rear loading area of the kayak.
To lock the aluminum bar to the kayak it is not necessary to drill the kayak, but the bungee located in the rear loading area of the kayak is sufficient to lock it in place.
The motor is inserted on the part of the bar that protrudes from the kayak, trying to make it stay as close as possible to the kayak itself.
Removing the bar is very simple, just remove the elastic that holds it locked in position and lift it.
The battery is protected by a dedicated watertight bag that I keep in the rear loading area.
Although it cannot be defined as an assisted pedaling, as the electric motor does not fit directly into the pedal mechanism, the result is practically the same, with less effort to advance and greater navigation autonomy.
Having the electric motor on helps a lot when trolling, especially when fishing with multiple rods. You can concentrate on retrieving a rod by stopping pedaling, as the kayak will continue to advance thanks to the propulsion of the electric motor, preventing the line of the other rod from intertwining with the one being retrieved.
Alternatively, on this kayak you can mount the electric motor in place of the pedals, with a special bracket that fits exactly into the coupling of the pedals. Doing so, however, would no longer have double propulsion, and once the charge of the battery is over, it would be necessary to paddle.
A stern motor can be fitted to all kayaks. This is a solution that I do not like, however, as it is necessary to drill the kayak and because if the line ends up in the propeller, it is difficult to remove it.
When you are tired, at the end of the day, or you no longer want to pedal, you can take the propeller out of the water and go only with the electric motor. The autonomy of the battery will still allow a good distance. Eventually, to have more autonomy, you can opt for the 80 Ampere battery or even the 130 Ampere one.
Thanks great explanation of what you have done. I bought a pre-made 24lb motor that fits into my Hobie feet drive well and it’s great but as you mentioned it would be ideal to have two ways of propulsion. I’m now going to fit one like yours 👍🏼
Thanks a lot Matt, I'm happy my video was helpful for you. Tight lines, Fabrizio!
Ciao Cosimo.
Hi Gokhan Keles. About the lithium battery, you can find more informations on the website ultralightbattery.it/collections/batterie-al-litio/batterie-ultralight. About the speed it was about 6 km/h without pedaling, but you have to consider the weight of the kayak, the angler and all the stuff that were placed over it. I do think that it would be good to make a sea scooter. It's cheap and light (3,5 kg).
Hi, greetings from Croatia !
I cant believe that you found small bonitos when trolling in march. Here, you cant find anything in march with shallow artificial lures. Since there is no fish, did you tried to troll for the squids ?
Hi Jure, that footage was recorded at the end of last summer. I generally fish in spring, summer and autumn, and since in that period I don't have enough time for editing, I generally realize and release the videos in winter, when I don't fish because of the cold weather, rough sea and short days.

Then it would be amazing if you could add the small date in the corner of the video as a watermark, or to type the date in the description. If i know the date, i can orientate and understand what are you targeting.
Few more questions for you:
I have that umbrella that you showed in your videos. I tried few times, but i did not catch anything on it. How big raglou do you put on it, 6cm, 8cm ?
Because i put raglou 10cm and 12cm, maybe it is too big.
What else can be put on the umbrella. Can i put small plastic octopuses, big sabiki hooks, or small 5cm wobblers ?
Did you catch anything on it beside sugarello ?
Did you catch scombro or lanzardo on umbrella ?
When i put big raglous on the umbrella, i was hoping i could catch multiple palamita, tonetto, tombarello, serra, leccia, occhiata. But nothing came from it haha.
@@i1bike It would be difficult to place a date on a video since these videos are not the fishing of a single day. I use to develop a topic, that could be a lure or a live bait trolling for a specific fish, and I use clips from different days.
On my opinion your Raglou are too big. I use 6,5 or 8,5 cm ones. Of course you can use octopus or any silicon lure with a paddle. I have catched any kind of mackerel on that umbrella, and little tunny too. Downsize your lures and good luck!
In speed 2 how long time could you go? It’s possible to stay more than 15 minutes in speed 2? I really liked this system, but I’m afraid to use it in speed 2 for long time.
Hi Dani, the autonomy depends on the battery you use. The motor consumes 9 amps per hour with first speed and 20 amps per hour with second speed. With my battery, which is 50 amps, I can use second speed for two and a half hours.
@@fabryak7383 thanks! Understood, but my question is if this motor is able to stay at speed 2 for long period of time. I’m afraid to burn or smoke it.
I cannot answer your question, I never used it at that speed for more than 15 minutes.

@@danibetitto6006 thanks a lot for sharing this information. I have recently bought a new 130 ah battery. It could last up to 6,5 hours with the second speed!
A proposito dove stai?
