Venom, Wolverine, and X-Men, Spiderman 3, and Ratchet And Clank. The games have to be made somehow, and focusing on a multiplayer game that probably sounds more fun than it is, is not the best choice to be honest.
Guerilla(Horizon) and Santa Monica(God of War) too, but these were much earlier in the production stage. Jim Ryan, the previous SIE/PS president wanted the company to make 9 multiplayer live service games atleast by 2025. That was unrealistic as hell of him to expect from studios that are only used to making singleplayer stuff.
People like judging things before giving them a try solely based on previous experiences, that's why. If it had turned out bad, it would have turned out bad, I don't understand how it's better that it got cancelled instead.

SSKTJL was fire because it made sense, every character is very different from each other so the play style varies from situation to situation, and diverse enough to make it fun. It’s the same reason as to why you don’t have a Batman multiplayer game full of Batman’s. It doesn’t make sense

Would love to have it but the problem is the combat isn't challenging enough to justify needing help from other players, yes you all can swing together but it would go stale at some point
this can easily by the next game, and they can just make the Super villains spawn randomly around the city/ team up with eachother, to warrant needing more than one Spider, yes, they could techincally be soloed, but the more players there are the quicker and easier it would be finished. like beat up multiple key enemies to weaken the Super Villain, or Destroy multiple bombs in quickly to stop them.
I love insomniacs spiderman series. Its has a great traversal and combat can be fun but gets super repetitive, so if you get rid of the story, then to me personally traversal is the only thing that stands out to me, but then it is fine as a solo experience. So my question to yall is, what kind of activities and features that you would like to see that you think will make it as an enjoyable experience when played collaboratively and what will make this stand out against their single player experience apart from the fact that youre playing online with friends.
They definitely aren’t doing anything like that yet. They need the 3rd game to have impact and if they followed up a big spider verse multiplayer with something not on par then it wouldn’t sell as well

It's super important to realise this is just a concept trailer - it's just to show investors an 'idea' quickly to get them on board using already in game assets. Nothing in this trailer would have actually WORKED - it was just them basically making a cutscene with in game assets which is why everything is re-used - imagine like 'add another companion' mods for Skyrim - that's all the footage in this trailer is. So when you say 'Wow this looks like it would have been great!' - that's because it's just the spider-man engine as we know it but they've made it so more than one character model with spider-mans abilities appears - there's no way this would have bene what the game was ACTUALLY like.

Based off the trailer it just looked like spiderman with more players. They probably wanted something to add more to the game than just more players like mechanics or a different feel to the game but they’d probably have to spend a lot of time on it

It would have done better than 2, I can tell you that. Make a fun little story, slightly improve the combat and differentiate the characters a little and ts would sell big time. People have wanted a multiplayer Spider-Man for a long time so many people would check it out and that could include content creators so more publicity. Then they can add a reasonable live service that doesn’t feel intrusive (like helldivers) and bam
Everyone attacks Rockstar for taking so long but at least I can interact with the world and NPCs. There’s so much to do. Spiderman 2 had great combat but once you beat the game, what else is there? It becomes so boring. They could’ve added some kind of drop-in co-op. You and a buddy pick between Peter and Miles. Even if there aren’t fleshed out missions, at least let us swing around and do some challenges. Like wtf

But the missions themselves could be improved. However, no other studio is making me obsessed with the open world. Honestly there is no other game besides gta 6 that is making me go crazy

Yeah. I love the idea of the game but I imagine in gameplay it could be annoying as other players are getting in the way messing up your combos and stuff. Or the game would feel basic as they remove a bunch of the combat from the last games to make the multiplayer gameplay work better Think Gotham knights one of the reasons that game feels so much worse than Arkham is because they removed most the combos and attack types that had become staples in those kind of games and that was a gameplay thing and realistically you would need to do that to this as well and since these games are marketed as letting you feel like Spider-Man you probably want to avoid taking away from that

it honestly works and wouldnt be difficult. DCUO set the groundwork. But, even SM2 set up a system that could have worked. Each unlocked suit was a new spidey that showed up to help you fight.
I think if we had something where they have a massive like hub world and you can travel to certain parts of the world. A lot of it would be like autogenerated like if we wanted a 2099 style world it would be that.

I can see why it was canceled. Was never gonna work as a live service game long term. Maybe as a regular multi-player expansion it would work just not as a live service game.

Cause someone hacked them and they threatened to leak if it they didn't give them a certain amount of money. So they leaked it and cancelled it. The game does look finished tho. But sadly we may never get to play it.

Based off the trailer it just looked like spiderman with more players. They probably wanted something to add more to the game than just more players like mechanics or a different feel to the game but they’d probably have to spend a lot of time on it

It would have done better than 2, I can tell you that. Make a fun little story, slightly improve the combat and differentiate the characters a little and ts would sell big time. People have wanted a multiplayer Spider-Man for a long time so many people would check it out and that could include content creators so more publicity. Then they can add a reasonable live service that doesn’t feel intrusive (like helldivers) and bam

Everyone attacks Rockstar for taking so long but at least I can interact with the world and NPCs. There’s so much to do. Spiderman 2 had great combat but once you beat the game, what else is there? It becomes so boring. They could’ve added some kind of drop-in co-op. You and a buddy pick between Peter and Miles. Even if there aren’t fleshed out missions, at least let us swing around and do some challenges. Like wtf

@@BiscuitMantheGreat exactly man. I do admit that Rockstar has a linear formula for mission design. The narrative and character development are always excellent. But the missions themselves could be improved. However, no other studio is making me obsessed with the open world. Sucker Punch did a great job with Ghost of Tsushima but the NPCs and side missions are a complete joke. I don’t want to seem like a fanboy. Honestly there is no other game besides gta 6 that is making me go crazy

Those games failed because no one wants to pay for a live service game just to have repetitive gameplay, a lazily told story, and bad writing, THATS why those games failed, I personally don't even like Live service games not because they're live service but because that's usually just used as an excuse for companies to be money hungry, if they deliver a good game first and then just have live service elements or online aspects I see nothing wrong with that and most people won't either, This is a terrible excuse to cancel what could've been a great thing🤦🏾♂️

Yeah. I love the idea of the game but I imagine in gameplay it could be annoying as other players are getting in the way messing up your combos and stuff. Or the game would feel basic as they remove a bunch of the combat from the last games to make the multiplayer gameplay work better
Think Gotham knights one of the reasons that game feels so much worse than Arkham is because they removed most the combos and attack types that had become staples in those kind of games and that was a gameplay thing and realistically you would need to do that to this as well and since these games are marketed as letting you feel like Spider-Man you probably want to avoid taking away from that
@@blistow3519 I mean they could do something like this but just just don't do life service it could be something like this but just a two-player Co-op split screen game a Spider-Man character of your choice but of course you play as Peter and Miles first and then later in the story you get the switch between hero because it's the Multiverse I think they should do it for Marvel Spider-Man 3 if it is going to be the final game I feel like Marvel Spider-Man 2 should have had had that feature since they were two Spider-Man's swinging around New York City

it honestly works and wouldnt be difficult. DCUO set the groundwork. But, even SM2 set up a system that could have worked. Each unlocked suit was a new spidey that showed up to help you fight.
I think if we had something where they have a massive like hub world and you can travel to certain parts of the world. A lot of it would be like autogenerated like if we wanted a 2099 style world it would be that.
