Well, DPM is kind of useless when you can't pen anything with 226mm of penetration. Also, the tank has HESH rounds, so in certain situations it does have better DPM.
@@Bumpus07 really 226 pen is fine...I'm the same with my IS i prefer the 100mm over the 122mm. Higher DPM, more shots, one miss with a derp gun on 11s reload is 22s wasted thats damn near 4 rounds on my smaller 100mm at 6.5s. My IS-3 has 175mm base and as a tier 8 it faces tier IX and X all the time and does well.
This tank WAS a modern tank. The Centurion first entered service in 1945 as a post war tank. It was the best tank in the entire world-at the time it had great armor, a fantastic gun, and amazing mobillity. The Centurion was where the entire idea of "Main Battle Tank" came from. At the time, the British called it the "Universal Tank." Over the years, the Centurion was continuously was up armored, up gunned, and up armored. In 1955, the L7 105mm gun was devoped. It was one of the most succesful tank guns of all time. The Centurion is still in service today! South Africa still uses the Centurion 70+ years after its debut.. in fact about 200 of them!

Inside the Model Viewer folder there are subfolders called bin_x64 and bin_x86. If you're using a 64 bit version of Windows, go into bin_x64 and double-click the WotTankViewer_x64.exe programme. IF you're using a 32 but version of WIndows.... you get the idea.
For my playstyle the L7A1 105mm feels like a no-brainer to me. I'm 145,000 xp away from the Centurion 7/1 but currently focused on the Leopard 1 from one of the German medium lines.
Double A Batteries I'll never spend for the FV4202. Aside form its cool looks, the FV brings a RoF the CENT 7 should've had at Tier 9! Sure, it's more maneuverable than the CENT 7...but its still stuck at that crappy 40 kmph top end. Again, its situational competitiveness is more limited than most of its peers IMO.
Thanks for saying when the gameplay starts jingles, most of the time unless I own a tank or am about to get it I skip right to the gameplay, thanks for putting that in the description
Wow.. I absolutely loved this video. I am a relatively new WoT player and now a Jingles subscriber! It's videos like this that make me want to continue to play the game and reach the later tiers.
Just got the final gun unlock for the Cent 1, starting my climb to the 7/1 finally. Sheesh this little thing needs some extra armor on the hull but thanks to your video on the Cent 1 I know how to play it better!
***** 75mm of armor on a tank that size facing tier tens. Bounce? Heh, dont make me giggle. I have the 7/1 now and its so much better, all the aspects I loved about the Mk1 with more hull armor.
I bounce all tier 10s all the time if you angle yourself well and know how to flank it doesn't matter about how thick the hull armor is besides the 7/1 is meant to make people miss
***** Im not certain I see the issue here. I know how to angle, I know what to do but no, 75mm is just not enough to reliably bounce anything at that tier. My e-25 eats Cents with ease even with its rather meager penetration at its tier. The 7/1 is just a better tank all round, it faces the same upper tier tanks the Mk1 faced, has better hull armor and better guns.
Watching Jingles always gives me the inspiration to boot up WoTs again. Then I remind myself that I'm still stuck grinding on my Tier 6 and always losing.
I respect your honorable gripe. In contrast, I got excited as soon as I saw this video pop up. I didn't even click on it, I immediately went and made a drink and settled in for an hour of Jingles. Quickybaby is the only other one I watch, and I'm a little bored with his short videos, but he also does a lot of editing to pack more into shorter videos. But I'd have to agree with Jingles and suggest you don't need to watch all of this, or could split it up. I can't imagine how that is a problem.
He's jingles.. His job isn't to give us accurate information about the tank, it's to be entertaining. I just turn the volume off and watch the games most of the time.
Well, you can skip the garage section and just watch the four replays. RUclips will remember how far you watched and next time you come back it will start again from that spot. Or not, the choice is yours. I understand if you don't have the time, of course, not everyone does. ;)

My dad used to maintain Centurion tanks when he was in the army, so I want to know if it were these Centurions. But The Netherlands never produced their own tanks, so it seems quite logical they imported British tanks.
Casper Kersten It was used by the Netherlands yes. Many countries used the tank, and it's actually still in use today, but mostly just the hull for different variants. It was a good tank, but was soon replaced in many countries by the German Leopard 1, which is also still in use in a number of countries as well.
Does the APCR round in both the Centurion 7/1 and Leopard prototype and Leopard 1 act like a Sabot round in more modern tanks like the M1A1 Abrams or Challenger?
Very recently got the FV-4202. I took a long time to decide to get having loved the 7/1 so much. Got it eventually and LOVED it. it's like the 7/1 on steroids. the turrets not as bouncy, but just needed a quick adjustment in play. fantastic tank!
I have a little question: I heard you really hate the Panther. I now have panther II and Im wondering, what the difference between the Centurion 7/1 and the Panther is. Both are very fast and manouvreble. Both have very accurate cannons (0,32) the reload is on both tanks awesome and both have pretty low alpha damage. The panther also sometimes bounces as the centurion shots. And the hit points of the panther compared to the tier are better

Hi Jingles ! I have a question for you. I'm going to have the Pershing, but I have doubt about Americans Medium tanks. They are not that accurate. Or the English ones have high rate of fire and pretty big accurcy. What should I do, stoping my Am. mediums and rushing the English ones, or continue the american line ?

But isnt the dpm theoretically higher on the L7A1 gun when he uses gold? it has maybe only 210 pen but, with its good accuracy, it should be enough to reliably dmg tanks for 480 dmg +/- 20% ?

Jingles, what are the strengths of the Pershing an Patton compared to the Centurions? I like both the Pershing and the Patton but they are started to seem a bit obsolete compared to the Centurions? The DPM on the Patton always seemed like its trademark but if the 7/1 also has good DPM then why even go Patton?
Question: Does it seem to be a viable solution for a 3-man Cent 7/1 platoon to take one 105 and two 20-pdrs? Or would three 20-pdrs or three 105's be bettter?

Jingles can you explain why you don't use a camo net on your Mk7/1? I use mine as a second line sniper, with Sixth sense, I really like the camo indicator, so I know i'm hidden again

I unlocked the Tier 9 British heavy the night before I left for Afghanistan. I'm on the Tier 8 Medium and looking forward to unlocking the Tier 9 when I get home. As they use the 'same' gun (both L7A1 with minor differences) a comparison to the tier 9 leopard pta would have been interesting. (Even though I know it would be along the lines of "leopard even faster, less armour.") How do you think the 20pdr shapes up against the 90mm gun on the pta?

Jingles, don't forget that IF you flank with the L1A1 gun, you still have HESH ammo to use. Witch is a very good ammo type to use even with "cheap HESH". With that dmg you WILL mess people up. Great review as usual, Thanks!
Just got this thing, and jingles, as someone who plays almost exclusively out-of-platoon: the 105 is probably the best thing to get first. my win rate and average damage jumped waaaaaaaaaaay higher immediately after I got it. It's also just more fun to play by yourself, because you don't have to keep poking out, risking health, and getting hit. The engine is really important, but if you don't play in a platoon very often, get the gun first.
First ever game in my Cent 7/1 - 20pdr Type B, upgraded suspension, Meteor Engine and top radio - over 4k damage, First Class badge, sniper and sharpshooter. Awesome tank, such a good upgrade over the Cent 1!
Also my favourite tank in the game, it’s legendary in the real world, a great tank still in service with several services around the world. It plays like a fast Chieftain, hull down, bouncy turret, top class gun handling and penetration
My fav tank in the game so far is the E-50, (1 out of 2 tier 9s I've unlocked :D) and I use the 105 usually, but I'm curious about the tier 9 88mm as well? better dpm? accuracy? rate of fire? could it be better? anyone?
pardon my ignorance if this was stated in the review, but I'm at a dilemma. I just got this tank, but I really don't know what to unlock next on it. I have the second engine and top radio but that's it. (I have enhanced suspension so I don't care about unlocking tracks atm) Should I go for the gun or get the top engine. It's rather sluggish the way it is now, so I'm leaning towards engine. Thoughts?

T71 is a great light tank if u are looking for speed and accuracy, its an autoloader and its good at range or up close and its really fun to mess around with in pubby matches

And i totally adore and rock the RO L7A1.. Got the ace tanker when I played as a heavy tank with it on redshire. 5.2k damage and butt-ton of spotting aswell.
OK the thing you said about the cents armor being bad, I bounced a shot from the is-7 and st-1 on the turret then I faced up against a t34 and is-8 with the bl-9 and all they did was DMG my tracks and observation device and I took no DMG from it and I bounced a bl-9 shot soooooooo is that jacked up RNG or good angling
Hey Mr. Jingles, you forgot to point out that the stock gun of the Centurion Mark 7/1, though the same gun as for the Centurion Mark 1, actually is a vast improvement. It's rate of fire goes from 7.5 r/m to a whopping 10 r/m!
Dear Jingles, What is your opinion on the British medium line, starting from tier two, or if you prefer tier five. More specifically I would like to know your opinion on the Crusader light tank. And do you plan on ever doing a review of it?
Hey Jingles, I'm close to starting a new tank line. I'm either going down the E-100 German heavy line, or the British Medium line. I don't actually have any medium tanks and I'm used to playing slightly lower armored heavies (Russian, French) and I'm just wondering what line I should go for first. as for the ST - I tank name, " I " means ' 1 ', with roman numerals in place of 'mark', Thus the Churchill I and Churchill VII are known as the Churchill One / Seven or the Mark One / Mark Seven Churchill tank. So its the 'Mark One Stalin/ST heavy tank', read as 'ST 'eye' ' or ST one', matter of taste if no standard is enforced. (for sound, most call it ST 'eye')
Your timing of putting this review of could not have been better. I'm 20K xp away from it and I haven't seen a lot of good reviews/info on the tank apart from watch QB's gameplay during streams. It seems like a very underrated tank from what I've heard. You just don't see a lot of people playing it and if you do, they play it poorly. I guess it's just one of those tanks that will reward good players and be very unforgiving to idiots. That's my kind of tank :P Thanks for the review Jingles :)
All the T9 are good, its what u said at the beginning. What makes the british one better (seems like u think it) then the other t9, especially the us meds? I really like the m4 and soon e8, but i like the look of the brits more so maybe i could change my med line.
lol been inspired my jingles :) been having a shit time on WOT this evening, so i just quit out. saw a new vid up on facebook and saw it review of 1 of my fav tanks. 10 mins from end i couldnt wait any longer and fired up WOT and got cent 7/1 ready for battle. end result 6 kills, mastery badge top gun and sniper, 77k credits and 4244 xp (x2) and 5754 damage :)

I have been tossing up buying it when I'm close to the Leopards. I've decided to go for the Leopards before getting the 4202.

I unlocked the Tier 9 British heavy the night before I left for Afghanistan. I'm on the Tier 8 Medium and looking forward to unlocking the Tier 9 when I get home. When I do unlock it I'll see if your around for a game or two. Havent really platooned much due to constant deployments but I do enjoy enjoy watching your channel when I deploy as you are a fellow airsoft player as well
As they use the 'same' gun (both L7A1 with minor differences) a comparison to the tier 9 leopard pta would have been interesting. (Even though I know it would be along the lines of "leopard even faster, less armour.")
How do you think the 20pdr shapes up against the 90mm gun on the pta?

Hey Jingles what do u think about getting low-skill teams on randoms when u get near 60% winratio. And the opposite - *always* being top tank and getting high-skill teams when u drop down to 43% winratio?

Jingles, don't forget that IF you flank with the L1A1 gun, you still have HESH ammo to use. Witch is a very good ammo type to use even with "cheap HESH". With that dmg you WILL mess people up. Great review as usual, Thanks!

Just got this thing, and jingles, as someone who plays almost exclusively out-of-platoon: the 105 is probably the best thing to get first. my win rate and average damage jumped waaaaaaaaaaay higher immediately after I got it. It's also just more fun to play by yourself, because you don't have to keep poking out, risking health, and getting hit. The engine is really important, but if you don't play in a platoon very often, get the gun first.
First ever game in my Cent 7/1 - 20pdr Type B, upgraded suspension, Meteor Engine and top radio - over 4k damage, First Class badge, sniper and sharpshooter. Awesome tank, such a good upgrade over the Cent 1!
Also my favourite tank in the game, it’s legendary in the real world, a great tank still in service with several services around the world. It plays like a fast Chieftain, hull down, bouncy turret, top class gun handling and penetration
My fav tank in the game so far is the E-50, (1 out of 2 tier 9s I've unlocked :D) and I use the 105 usually, but I'm curious about the tier 9 88mm as well? better dpm? accuracy? rate of fire? could it be better? anyone?

pardon my ignorance if this was stated in the review, but I'm at a dilemma. I just got this tank, but I really don't know what to unlock next on it. I have the second engine and top radio but that's it. (I have enhanced suspension so I don't care about unlocking tracks atm) Should I go for the gun or get the top engine. It's rather sluggish the way it is now, so I'm leaning towards engine. Thoughts?

Is there any way you can give your opinions on the E50 and E50M? I know that you have looked at them before and you gave them high praise, but I was wondering if they have had any major changes that have ruined them/ made them better.

T71 is a great light tank if u are looking for speed and accuracy, its an autoloader and its good at range or up close and its really fun to mess around with in pubby matches

Got the ace tanker when I played as a heavy tank with it on redshire. 5.2k damage and butt-ton of spotting aswell.
OK the thing you said about the cents armor being bad, I bounced a shot from the is-7 and st-1 on the turret then I faced up against a t34 and is-8 with the bl-9 and all they did was DMG my tracks and observation device and I took no DMG from it and I bounced a bl-9 shot soooooooo is that jacked up RNG or good angling
Hey Mr. Jingles, you forgot to point out that the stock gun of the Centurion Mark 7/1, though the same gun as for the Centurion Mark 1, actually is a vast improvement. It's rate of fire goes from 7.5 r/m to a whopping 10 r/m!

Thus the Churchill I and Churchill VII are known as the Churchill One / Seven or the Mark One / Mark Seven Churchill tank.
So its the 'Mark One Stalin/ST heavy tank', read as 'ST 'eye' ' or ST one', matter of taste if no standard is enforced. (for sound, most call it ST 'eye')
Your timing of putting this review of could not have been better. I'm 20K xp away from it and I haven't seen a lot of good reviews/info on the tank apart from watch QB's gameplay during streams. It seems like a very underrated tank from what I've heard. You just don't see a lot of people playing it and if you do, they play it poorly. I guess it's just one of those tanks that will reward good players and be very unforgiving to idiots. That's my kind of tank :P Thanks for the review Jingles :)
All the T9 are good, its what u said at the beginning. What makes the british one better (seems like u think it) then the other t9, especially the us meds? I really like the m4 and soon e8, but i like the look of the brits more so maybe i could change my med line.

been having a shit time on WOT this evening, so i just quit out.
saw a new vid up on facebook and saw it review of 1 of my fav tanks.
10 mins from end i couldnt wait any longer and fired up WOT and got cent 7/1 ready for battle.
end result 6 kills, mastery badge top gun and sniper, 77k credits and 4244 xp (x2) and 5754 damage :)
the hull isn't really garbage, the upper glacis is around 180mm effective, so you can bounce tier 7s and some tier 8s without angling.
