Hi Christine, Thank you do much. If my experience shows anything, just listen to lel and do it. Have no fear, its only paint and there is always sandpaper. Just dive in. I had a fab time making that table and I was really pleased with it. Slightly surprised but if I can do it, anyone can.

Awww Sandra this has to be one of our top comments thanks so much ....didn't he do really well and I think he was secretly very pleased with his table. I'm glad you commented it has made his day X X ❤️ Love Marty and lel
I'm laughing so hard..you two are something else..Martin you did absolutely beautiful job on that table..but the best part was to hear you "talk" just like Lel and seeing you work with palet knife..Lel is always sort of "just doodling "when in reality it's really profound skill ..all together absolute perfect table!!! P.S.Lel did great job filming it❤️❤️❤️
It IS a profound skill. Lel makes it look incredibly easy. Before trying this on a piece of furniture, I would definitely practice on pieces of scrap wood. I wouldn't have realised that before watching this video. A huge help.
Thank you so much. I really enjoyed doing that table and we did have a lot of fun making the video. Lel makes it look so easy but I think I might have proved its best to just jump in and have a go. Trust yourself and develop your own process and then follow it. I can see how addictive it is. Will be practicing painting with a pallet knife away somewhere before I try that again lol. Thanks so much. It really is an amazing feeling to know we made so many people smile and laugh. Martyn

This goes to show you Lel that you are a true teacher in so many ways as well as Martin being a budding protégé… Thank you for the laughs & reaffirmation that we should all try something new…
Hi Kimber, Thank you for your kind words. I really did enjoy the whole experience and of course it is a little easier for me with my Lel sitting there whispering words of encouragement and pointers in my ear, but she really is an awesome teacher and what I said is true, just go for it. So glad you enjoyed the video and it brought smiles to so many people. Might just make me try again at some point, its an awesome feeling. Safe behind the camera for now lol. Martyn the Protege,

Hi Maryka, Lol, I'm not sure we can spare the 3 days it would take me to do anything bigger than a table. We did have fun doing it though. Really enjoyed the whole project. I'm very lucky I have such a good teacher. Thanks for watching and for your lovely comment. xx Martyn
Oh Martin what a joy to behold. You did such a great job. Loved the frotage action too! I liked your idea of putting lines around what you wanted to cut out. You two make such a great team.
Two things I really love about your channel. Is your laughter and your Appreciation of each other. Martin a great job. I hope I do as well on my first attempt. I also love your color choices. Thanks To the both of you
Hey Donna, I listen to Lel trying to encourage people all the time and its true. I decided when I had to do this, I would just dive in so that's what I did, as I said in the video every stage started not great but I got better and better so as I said, just do it. Dive in. listen to Lel and just do it.

That was a lightbulb moment for me too. Transfers are expensive, especially here in Italy because everything is imported. Brilliant...laughed the whole way through but also realised what a difference it makes when you learn to trust the process, have a go and go wild and just like Marty, Lel really helped me with that. Hope there will be more "Marty Learns" episodes 🧡🧡🧡
Me too with the "Marty Learns" videos. I want to see what happens as he gains confidence. What started out as a bit of a playful joke turned into a valuable lesson.
Hi Linda, its not on the cards at the moment, but if anything was to convince me it would be all the wonderful and kind comments the video has received. Its a nice feeling thinking we brought a smile to so many faces. Maybe, just maybe........Martyn
I think the best part of this and your earlier video's is the playful funny interactions between you two. You can tell you really like each other and "play well together". It's refreshing and fun to watch.
Ha ha do our recent videos not show we love each other Judith? ...... Because oh we so do.... There's no made By Marley without marty. He's amazing funny organised, loyal, hardworking and a great human. X
Martin you are such a delight and the two of you together are so funny. Thank you for the good laughs , keep talking through the whole video and keep painting. Great job
Good job Martin! I was thinking "ack, stop touching the back of the transfers" then I heard Lel whisper "stop touching the back" hahaha! Love you guys! 💚🩷
Ha ha I needed to keep him on track Sharon..... Ha ha and to tell him about removing the back of the transfer I was really laughing at that.... But he did a good job..... X
@@MadebyMarley Reminds me of when I bought my first "grown up" camera in 1970. "Don't forget to take the lens cap off before you take the picture," the vendor said. Wow, I thought, he must think I'm really stupid. You want to know how many pictures I took with the lens cap on?
Martin, you did a fabulous job on the table, Lel is a fantastic teacher and it shows how much you have learnt just by watching your amazing Wife. Congratulations 🎉 on a fabulous job
I think it's a great job and he's a good student. Now, for part 2.....let him pick the furniture piece and all colors and transfers and let's see what comes out of his mind! Get the beer ready! Should be FUN.
Wow what a patient student you are Martin, I think I might have thrown in the towel a few times! Thank you for showing that perseverance pays off. The table looks great.
Wonderful! I love this and it came out so pretty!💯 I'll bet you'll never feel the same about the word 'FROTTAGE' Martyn - such a good laugh as well. It does shed a whole new light on the challenge of artistic process though, I'm sure. 🥰
Hey there, Thanks for your wonderful comments. I dont know why I find that word so funny? Thrilled you enjoyed it, I can see how addictive it is. I hope I showed it is ok to just dive in. Its only paint. Thanks again Martyn
@@MadebyMarley Absolutely! So glad you guys did this and posted it for us. I really enjoyed watching it. I love Lel's work and I found her recently (we both participated in a challenge) and I thought - wow, look at her style!! She just amazes me and you're so sweet, too. Thank you. 😘
I LOVED this!!! What a delight! I've never applied a transfer before either. I loved the idea of choosing what pieces to cut, then laying them out before committing to putting them down. You can move around until you like what you see. I can see it might be a little bit more difficult working with the smaller pieces, but I think it's worth it in the end. In addition to giving me hope that even I might be able to do this, watching you, Martyn, while listening to Lel's whispered directions and her bursts of laughter, made my cold, damp Sunday morning warmer and had me smiling all the way through. Believe me, that's a gift! It's clear you have a great relationship too, so that's lovely as well. Finally ((this is the most important part), you did a fantastic job, Martyn. The table is beautiful. It would be a stand out feature in any room, and gorgeous as a dining table. Thanks to both of you for this fun beginning to a dreary morning. Our winter weather in Chianti is more like Scotland 's weather than you might imagine. I would love to see more videos like this to see what Martyn does as his confidence grows because I learned a lot from this one. ❤️🌟🙏🏼😃🤩
Elena, What can I say to those wonderful words. I have watched Lel cutting up transfers loads of times and not thought much about it till it was my turn and it just made perfect sense to me to lay them out like that. So glad you enjoyed it. We had a great laugh with each other making it. Martyn
OMG, I loved you instructing Martin. He did a fab job of it. It helps all of us newbies now attempt more difficult next step up projects as Martin such a fabulous job of it all! He is a great mate for you in many ways. You guys take care.
Marty is fabulous he's good at all the business stuff.... He wears many hats. And he's a creative in his own right he builds things from wood but he never paints and I think he did a really good job and I was super proud he did it..... Let's here it for my boy!
Loved this , thank you for having Martin show his talents, you 2 make a great couple...loved the finished piece and the technics...great colors , Inspired me to use this style on a table.looking forward to Martin's next creation.😊

Hi Cathy, Glad you enjoyed it and brought a smile to your face. we enjoyed making that one and I had a lot of fun making it. Hugs from Scotland. Martyn. x
Lovely table - and so great watching you find your comfort level with techniques you haven't done before - I find this so inspiring, Martyn. I'm in awe of your taking this challenge on - you did an amazing job! We none of us know what we're capable of, until we try! It was also hilarious hearing Lel cracking up in the background - whatever happens, when we can laugh, we've mastered something important. There's nothing (well, few things) more important than play.
Hey Carol_Ann, Your right, its not easy to trust yourself to begin with but the more you jump in and just do it the more you feel comfortable and think, next time...... I really enjoyed. Thanks for watching x Martyn
I’m so glad I watched this. A friend wants me to help her with her drop leaf table…this is lovely !!! Martin did a fabulous job on it!!!! Thanks again for the inspiration and techniques!!!!
Thanks Sonia, I enjoyed it but I'm heading back to my side of the camera. It was a good laugh but I think I'll stick to my side of things and let Lel handle the magic side.
Hello from the good ole USA. You did famously Martin! Get a new appreciation for all the Artisticness that you both have, you usually behind the camera but look at what you did? I love this technique you showed and you are both so darling and dang cute! Keep up the fan-freaking-tastic work both of you...
Wow! Martin, thank for your courage and your humor! Both of you. I laughed many times, and I was very glad I was not in your shoes, Martin! Off to a good year!
Thanks, Zoe. When Lel suggested it and so many folks commented saying I had to do it I didnt have much choice. Totally enjoyed it but I'm not very fast. Better sticking to what I'm good at.

Thanks Lauren, I guess hundreds and hundreds of hours watching Lel from the other side of the camera and all the editing must have downloaded something into my brain. It all kind of made sense, could not have done it without my Lovely Lel by my side though giving helpful pointers. It was good fun, laughed constantly. Glad you enjoyed it. xx Martyn

@MadebyMarley it was so entertaining 🥰 all the laughing & love! Martyn did so fabulous and he was so proud of his work 🤩 as he should be! It was gorgeous 😍
It’s beautiful, Martyn!!! Lel is teaching us all well and you are both very inspiring! I ordered my first decoupage paper from you yesterday - Indian Garden - and some small pots of Annie Sloane’s chalk paint and wax - and I am going to transform two little nested coffee tables soon! Some antique gold guilding wax and stencilling may be involved too… Watching your work has been a fabulous journey so far and I am taking the plunge too. I really identify with your initial trepidations, Martyn, but I hope to be as brave and capable as you clearly are! Appreciate you guys❤❤
That sounds like just the project to start on... Not to big and overwhelming. The addition of some gold also is a good way to go especially with Indian garden. I'm glad you enjoy our RUclips channel. And I do remember marty being nervous at starting his table. He soon got into it. Keep us up to date on how it goes and don't forget to join the Made by Marley decoupage group on Facebook to show us your project. It's full of creatives who are just starting and others who have been doing it for a while. It's a really nice group..... Much love and good luck Lel x .

Can't say no to that kind of pressure. I genuinely had fun doing it but I think I'll stick to my side of the camera from now on. Thanks again, Martyn
First I want to thank you. I was having a really really bad day, and we are doing a house an hour and 40 minutes away from where we live. Hi Deborah, Thank you for watching my efforts. I think that little voice in my ear while I was doing it helped a great deal. You would loose that bet though I'm afraid. I got pressured into doing that because I have bad habit of commenting on things when Lel is doing them on camera and she asked her subscribers to comment if they thought I should do it myself and hundreds of them commented so I had no choice. funny how I have stopped commenting from behind the camera. I'll be sticking to my side of things from now on. I'm reasonably creative but there is only one real artist in the family. But thanks for your kind words. Martyn x

Thanks for the compliment, turned out better than I thought it would, just goes to show with some good advice and a willingness to just jump in, good things can happen. Think I'll be sticking to my side of the camera from now on though. Martyn
@@MadebyMarley No! Do it again in a month or so. I don't think you realise how helpful it was. 🌟🌟🌟
Lel-he’s a keeper❤
Well done that man, great first piece!
It looks stunning Marty. Lel you did a good job as camera woman too, loved the laughing 😃
Ha ha I couldn't stop so many funny things.... But very slow it took him ages to do each stage....
Lel was you itching? I know I would have been, I would have probably had to sit on my hands 🤣
"I'm trusting my process now..." Ha! Ha! Ha!
Great job
Ha ha that video is very funny. He's funny especially when he talks about the undercarriage 😂
Y'all are crazy.😂 OH I'm enjoying this. Thank Lel and Martyn for the laughs.😂
Thanks as always we are grateful you watch us.
Love Lel x
Oh my, Martin is so precious and a good sport. Love how much fun this was....Gold Star Martin 🏅 you are wonderful
Didn't he do an amazing job x
Awww Joanne so kind didn't he do well X X ❤️
Yay, I found it, Lel. Thank you. 😂I needed a good laugh. Hang in there, Martyn. 😊❤
You are so welcome
Great video Martin! Your piece turned out fabulous! The "undercarriage" color was unexpected but perfect! TFS!
I'm still laughing about his under carridge, if I see that video I instantly laugh x
I think it's a great job and he's a good student. Now, for part 2.....let him pick the furniture piece and all colors and transfers and let's see what comes out of his mind! Get the beer ready! Should be FUN.
Tama he found this so stressful he says never ever again ha ha we have scarred him for life lol 🤣
Do did a darn good job hubby!😂 I love the instructions from behind the camera and Lel’s laughing at you but with you❤
Hi Cassandra, Thanks for the compliment. Could not have done it without my Lel x Martyn
Wow what a patient student you are Martin, I think I might have thrown in the towel a few times! Thank you for showing that perseverance pays off. The table looks great.
Sally I wouldn't let him ha ha 😂
Thank you. 😘
Marley! Martin was such a joy! Love you both! ❤️
Ha ha he was very funny x
Lol I think your rose is a wild one.😅
And thanks for so all the smiles and chuckles. I really enjoy you two.
Oh it was so so funny but I think he did a marvelous job X ❤️
I love y'all laughs. I'm rolling over here.😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
What an entertaining video! Thank you Martin for being such a fantastic sport! The table is beautiful!!
Glad you enjoyed it it was very funny to film.....
He did a fab job Rita didn't he x
I couldn't wait to watch this video, ya'll really did switch it up!! What a lovely table you created Martin. I giggled all the way through!!! Hugs from Texas!
Hi Cathy, Glad you enjoyed it and brought a smile to your face. we enjoyed making that one and I had a lot of fun making it. Hugs from Scotland. Martyn. x
So lovely to hear you two having a right old giggle too.
Sally ha ha we enjoy a giggle X ❤️
Outstanding job, Marty!! Now you'll have to get a videographer and both of you paint together!!
Ha ha its Lel Julie, I think he will never do it again.... He's happy behind the camera.
It was so much fun x
Lovely table - and so great watching you find your comfort level with techniques you haven't done before - I find this so inspiring, Martyn. I'm in awe of your taking this challenge on - you did an amazing job! We none of us know what we're capable of, until we try!
It was also hilarious hearing Lel cracking up in the background - whatever happens, when we can laugh, we've mastered something important. There's nothing (well, few things) more important than play.
How funny was this video, and I think he did a great job and we laughed so much x
Well done Martyn! It is easy... but it isn't, and then you begin to trust the process and it becomes FUN!
Awww Marty my super star he's actually creative so I also loved his table.
Well done Martin - just asked my husband if he would like a go and he said NEIN. I am sure he would be good (said she laughing).
Thanks Sonia, I enjoyed it but I'm heading back to my side of the camera. It was a good laugh but I think I'll stick to my side of things and let Lel handle the magic side.
You two are my favorite couple! Great job, Martin!
Awwwww that's so kind x
Hello from the good ole USA. You did famously Martin! Get a new appreciation for all the Artisticness that you both have, you usually behind the camera but look at what you did? I love this technique you showed and you are both so darling and dang cute! Keep up the fan-freaking-tastic work both of you...
Hey Lu Ann, Thank you for your awesome message and the compliments. We will do our best xx
This was so FUN to watch.! Made me smile. The table turned out beautiful!
Well done!
Ha ha pat didn't he do well X ❤️
Ahhhhhhhh, that's beautiful, Martyn. I wish I had Marley to teach me. I very never done this before. ❤❤
Awww Just keep watching you will get there x
You did a great job as a "first timer " your table is lovely Martin. 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
@@MadebyMarley you're welcome 😊
What fun! And you did a fine job..cute table as the result! Never know what you can do when you go for it!
I think he is happy doing the filming we might not see him for a while.... X
Great job Martyn ! I 'll never look at oldie worldly frotage the same again!🤣 I laughed so till Don came to see what all the hoot was about. Just loved it. Imagine your appreciation for what your sweet Lel does has deepened a bit. Are you ready to quit your day job now? Love you 2, take care thanks for the laughter it was great. Martyn you really did do a great job!
Vicky
Hey Vicki, I misheard Lel's whispers, I could have sworn she said Oldie Worldly style. What a laugh we had making that video and yes, I already have a deepened appreciation for my Lel's talents. She makes it all look so easy. So glad you enjoyed it so much. I feels nice to think of you and others around the worlds sitting laughing at us. Glad we could bring a smile to so many faces. Martyn
You did a fantastic job!! I’m so impressed- now I think I could do it!! Lel is a great teacher - I have learned so much from her as you have.
He did very well x
What a Fabulous effort Martyn ❤ Ya !
❤All the laughter and Hearing Lel in the background 😂
It Turned out Beautiful 👍
Ha ha ondina this was just to prove that anyone can do it. I think he did a good job...
Thanks so much for watching
Lel x
I had to stop everything when I saw the title of this video, NICE JOB MARTIN!! I'm impressed😊 it was so much fun watching you 2 reverse roles, I think you both had fun also!
Glad you enjoyed it. xx Martyn
@Made by Marley and bet you'll look at Lel's work slightly different now, maybe taking in more and why she does what she does xx
Yas!!! Proper amazing mate! Love it ❤️
Brilliant Martyn, Lel has taught you well 😁
Awwww he was so cute doing his table..... The lovely Marty x
Haha! Well done Martin! Professional frottager lol... I especially loved the intermittent raucous laughter in the background hehe
Ha ha I'm sorry but he made me laugh so much and he's super proud of his table x
So nicely done! I learned quite a bit and so enjoyed the two of you!!! Thank you for your candor and sense of humor!!!
Hi Louise, Thank you for your lovely message. we had a lot of fun making and editing that video, took so long to edit it, because Lel wouldn't stop laughing. Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the compliments.
Martin, I love your piece. What a transformation. I like those colors together. You two make a good team.
Hey Cindy, Your very kind, I had an excellent teacher. I really did enjoy the whole thing we laughed all the way through it. Martyn
Absolutely marvelous job Martyn ❤ thank you and Lel for all the learning, love, laughter and creativity 🎉 ya'll are so amazing 🥰
Thanks so much didn't he do so well but oh my yes how I laughed at his antics X ❤️
@MadebyMarley it was so entertaining 🥰 all the laughing & love! Martyn did so fabulous and he was so proud of his work 🤩 as he should be! It was gorgeous 😍
Спасибо вам, мне понравилось,иногда боишься начать,думаешь не получится,особенно сочетание цветов,все гармонирует,а настрой великолепен.
Yes you're right it's the getting started that can be difficult x
pretty good job U R hired...
Martin, great job! You e given me hope for myself now..🤔🤣
Oh yes, if he can anyone can x
Voila...very good 👍 👌 👏 😋 🙌
Thanks Kathy x
Much love and good luck
Lel x
.
It is really a joy to watch a great artist and teacher, your hubby showed what a wonderful teacher you are, it was such a pleasure watching a couple that honestly enjoyed working together.
Awww he did really well, although I am not sure what I did to him. He says he will never do another he found it very stressful ha ha ha
Please don’t bother to reply to me, it takes too much of your valuable time. I love your brough, it. Reminds of my dad
Ahh the rose.😮
👀
I just used your glorious example in my next piece...flowers around the edge...brilliant lesson!
He will be very pleased Deb.....ha ha
He is proud of his table x
It’s been great. Watching from fun to watch and to have such a great instructor.
I guess watching her daily helps a little bit. 😊
Hi Susan, I guess those hundreds of hours filming and editing must have programmed my brain a little bit, it all kind of made sense and I did have fun.
You two are the cutest couple! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thanks so much x
It's so good to see the face behind the voice. I love you guys and your videos
Yes here he is didn't he do well it Was so funny to film. X
🙌This was certainly worth waiting for I smiled all way through what a cheery chap & Lel laughing too . The end result was lovely & I would try this sometime hopefully more projects to come, well done Martín 👌
Hi Valerie, Thanks for your kind comment and for watching my efforts. It was good fun and I surprised myself. Just goes to show, have no fear, jump in and just do it. Not so sure about more projects, I think I should leave that to Lel, I take way to long. Martyn x
Well done Martin. Your piece turned out beautiful. This was lots of fun! Thank you both. 💞
Hey Lorraine, Thank you, I really enjoyed the whole thing. It was a lot of fun. Think I'll be sticking to my side of the camera for a while lol x Martyn
@@MadebyMarley 😁👍 Thank you again Martyn. You and Lel are amazingly talented artists…both behind the camera and in front. You both work so hard to put out wonderful videos. I truly enjoy watching them. 💞
You two are adorable! What a team!
Ha ha.... That video was so so funny to film, he was so invested in his wee table x x
Nice Job Martyn! You guys absolutely crack me up. I get totally mesmerized watching your videos. I have learned so much from your tutorials. Lel, your work is just amazing. I am so glad I found your channel. I try to watch others but they don't teach and explain the process and the products and how to use them like you do. Thanks so much for the great videos and beautiful work.
Thanks so much that's really very kind, I think it's good to share knowledge and skills. We are so grateful that you watched and left such a brilliant comment x
I think it looks good Martin..keep it up, and you’ll be a wiz bang at it. With the two of you doing it, you can make loads of money…open up a shop in town…😉…much love from the United States, Cindy ❤
Ha ha Cindy since then he's never painted another piece of furniture he thought it was to nerve wracking ha ga
love this video, Martian is a good sport and did a great job on this table!!!
Hey Deb, Thanks. I didn't have much choice. When Lel announced to everyone in her last video that I should do it and said to viewers msg and let us know what you think, we were flooded with comments saying I had to do it. Can't say no to that kind of pressure. I genuinely had fun doing it but I think I'll stick to my side of the camera from now on. Thanks again, Martyn
Well done. That's super! Do another one soon . 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I will try to coax him to do one but he's shy.
Lel X ❤️
First I want to thank you. I was having a really really bad day, and we are doing a house an hour and 40 minutes away from where we live. Last night and this morning I had a bad conflict with my 13 year old grandson. 😢😢. My blood pressure was sky high, had chest pains. I got your replies from previous comments, and I was like I have to see if I've MISSED ANY VIDEOS. You guys lifted my mood, made me literally laugh out loud, yous just made me feel better. Thank you. And Martin, the table looks beautiful, MUY BUEN TRABAJO. 😊
I'm so glad, sometimes is good to escape things especially conflict even if it's just for a little while.
I'm so glad you liked Marty's table x x
Bravo, Martin, Bravo!
Thanks Deb, it was a lot of fun. Martyn
What a fantastic teaching/learning video. A lot if fun was had by all it seems. Only just got to this clip as I'm playing catch-up. Very well done. 🥰🥰
Hi Barbara, It's Martyn, thanks for watching my efforts. I was cajoled into it Lol. Trying my best not to offer suggestions to Lel in case I am dragged into doing another one lol. Thanks so much for your lovely comment. Martyn
Awww Barbara it was so funny watching him but he did a good job and I laughed so much X ❤️
Really enjoyed this video… you two are so fun together😊 and the table turned out great!
Hey Mama Blue Bear, Thanks for much for the lovely comment. We really enjoyed making that video.
You were amazing Martyn. Keep at it! 7/6/23 11:44 PM. USA
Wasn't he just, he did a great job x
Well done Martin 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Awww didn't he do so well x x
This was soooo much fun!
It was hilarious to film x
Well done Sir! I have been inspired to give it a try. I am new to your channel and I must say I love you both already.
Welcome aboard! We're glad to have you.... Didn't marty do well. Much love Lel x
@@MadebyMarley He did extremely well, both of you have gotten me out of the slum of depression from crafting! You have given me my inspiration back and I thank you both!. I have a piece I am getting ready to work on, inspired by your clown piece! Got the paint coming getting ready to order your decoupage paper for it. Yay so excited
You two are wonderful! This was so enjoyable to watch. You did a great job Martin!!!
Ha ha ha don't he do well.... I was very proud x
I watched this and hoped Martin now appreciates that you make all this upcycling look so easy. It isn’t. You’d honed your skills and worked out how best to communicate with your followers. His table was okay but lacked the professionalism of your videos. I love watching you.
Awww that's a shame I think for someone who has no skills to turn out that table is awesome .... I felt it was what my channel us all about learning.
Your off the hook you don't need to see him again, he was so nervous that he says he can't do it again ha ha 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Martin. Nice to meet you. You did a great job. I'll bet you want to do it again. You may have created a monster Lel. You'll have to push and shove your way in to wrestle paints and furniture off him. Really nice. Looks great staged.
Martyn x
