SketchUp Tips and Tricks: Image, Texture, Matched Photo Import Options

- When you import textures in Google SketchUp, you will have three options. Use as Image. Use as Texture. and Use as Matched Photo. The Use as Image option will import image as if it were a billboard. The Use as Texture option will import the image as a repeating texture, like wrapping paper. If you select the Matched Photo option, you will automatically be taken to the Match Photo interface, where you can align perspective lines to create a 3d model from the image.
I don't mind the clicking, you just saved my life. All these years I have struggled with 3ds Max. Now I found the most fun and easy 3d program ever
most annoying clicking sound ever
That clicking..
Sounds great!
Dude that's some impressive speed :) Liked it ;)
Thanks for the vid. Would you know how to import a picture in order to put it as a background? I have a 3d model to which I wanna show perspectives, and in the background of the perspective I'd like to have the skyline of the city, for example. Thanks.
I like the sound of your mouse click by the way.
Thanks for the reply. This border is not the edges from sketchup. When I turn off edges or erase them like you suggested, the border remains. Its like its part of the original image except its not there when I create the image.
Thanks man. Make more tuts on how to do stuff like a cellphone.
File>Import. File Type - "All supported image types" The drop down menu at the bottom. This is the answer for PC
Nice ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you for the video. But please reduce the sound volume on that clicking sound.

The pictures wont show up in my files
Ay , turn your mouse click sound off sheez...
The video is helpful - but the speaker talks somewhat quickly
No problem! Been in that situation myself. I wish Google would make SketchUp just autodetect the file like it does with Layout.
Do you have the format set to "All Supported Image Types"? Is it a mac or pc? Your image can't be gif. Let me know if that helps.
you move so quickly that i can't stop/start quick enough to see what your doing Why bother!
Hi! I'd like to ask about the other side of the object. How can I match 2,3,4... images to the same object? E.g. 4 side of a house or something like that. Thank you!
Appreciate the input rarf, the goal is to be short and to the point. I encourage you to use the pause and play button liberally :) Check out the others and let me know what you think.
Nice, but it was a little to fast for me ;)
Super sir.
If you have grouped your model you need to right click edit the group, then paint each surface. If you paint outside the group, it will paint the whole group
Thanks for the video. I was wondering if you could help me. When I import as an image, sometimes it puts a small border around the edge. For example an image (png) of a filled in circle that should be transparent outside the circle would have a faint square border around it. Even though this border isn't in the original image. Do you know what could be causing this? I could send you examples of what I'm talking about if that would help. Thanks!
fucking great info vid man..
How do I change it to "All supporting files?
1:05 of pure help
Change to Image/ Mode/ RGB color in photoshop. That might help.
same with me
so fast
the clicking sound of the mouse is pretty annoying :/
Was it a speeding contest? On the behalf of your gf, please make it last a bit longer. ;)
anoying clicking = dislike!
