- SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends appeared at the Nickelodeon Super Bowl LVIII broadcast to sing Sweet Victory! While the new Sweet Victory performance is slightly different than the original Band Geeks episode, it still pays tribute to one of SpongeBob's most iconic moments. Is this a better Super Bowl performance than the halftime show with Maroon 5?

At least it's better than the last attempt 🫣
Sweet loss😭😭
I loved it :)
Yeah..
Last attempt?
i enjoyed the superbowl on nick had everythang jellyfish plankton attacks sandy on sideline larry on field dawg you cann't ask for better superbowl and it was great toi hear sweet sweet victory again also i liked how dora poped up to help us know what penitiles are that was awsome
While it can't compare to the original performance in "Band Geeks", I'm just glad we finally got a proper performance. The aesthetic is pretty good too. If only it was at the official Super Bowl instead of the Nickelodeon version.
It's good to hear it again.
I did like the CGI. Especially Patrick drumming. He looked...HARDCORE
I like the old nostalgia “Sweet Victory” song in a Band Geeks episode, and I remember the good times. Still, I’m glad that Nickelodeon brings it back, however, not animated but CGI/remake Super Bowl edition. Thank you, Nickelodeon; Stephen and Bob were proud of you from the heavens
R.I.P Stephen Hillenburg and Bob Kulick 🕊️🙏🪦💐
*Creator and director of SpongeBob*
*David Glen’s right hand guitarist, friend and brother*
I have a feeling the NFL just would never allow it so Nickelodeon took things into their own hands. And I respect them for that.
o well. Maybe next year
Stephen Hillenberg and Bob Kulkick are smiling down in Heaven
They sure are. Mr. Hillenburg must be proud of his work on Nickelodeon. If it wasn’t for him, SpongeBob and Nickelodeon would never be this popular as of today. :)
You mean up in heaven?
@@maossauceacre07 Yep. He will never be forgotten…

yup
Yeah
And we passed the day you joined YT 10 years and 3 days ago,
@@PurpleGuy661 that's great
Nickelodeon should do every NFL game. Seeing Dora roast the teams for not getting in the end zone during the 1st half was hilarious
They should bring all of the classic NickToon characters back and have them appear in the NFL game as well.
Where are we going?
👏👏👏
BACK 5 YARDS 😂🤣😂🤣
@@DeShawnTheGBGuyHenry and June coming back would be awesome. I remember as a kid being on YT after they were long gone, seeing their promos and bumpers, they were so cool. Even saw some of KaBlam.
I will gladly forfeit all NFL rights to CBS and CBS alone just so we can get Spongebob as a full-time analyst
@@XJIcequeenThat has something to do with penalties.
Getting trolling by Travis Scott in ATL halftime was an unforgivable stunt. But, this was an almost perfect remake of Sweet Victory.
They kind of redeemed themselves a few years ago when the song briefly played during a Paramount+ Ad during Super Bowl LV but yeah this year was the best one
Definitely a nice tribute to Stephen Hillenburg. However, it would've been awesome if it was actually played in Super Bowl 53's halftime show.
Well, we almost had it
You know what they say, better than nothing
at least usher was good
@@xXalphasigmaXxHe was good. The show was well done too
Now THIS is the way to tribute Stephen Hillenberg. What should’ve been done years ago.
Bob Kulkick and Stephen Hillenberg will be so proud of SpongeBob for performing the famous “Sweet Victory” song during the Super Bowl, now that’s an absolute win and a massive W! 😉👍
Spongebob looks so uncanny for no reason 😭
When he’s singing it looks stop motion or like the modern movies
Spongebob won the Super Bowl 😭

One half-victory for Nickelodeon, I’d say. At least we got “Sweet Victory” worldwide 🎉
This was for you, Stephen.
This is so much better than that gosh darn Super Bowl LIII halftime show with Travis the Cheapskate.
It was, albeit the Paramount+ ad a few years back during Super Bowl LV briefly playing this song wasn’t bad either.
I know Travis ruined the Super Bowl on Nickelodeon in Super Bowl 53
The "Band Geeks" finally have the rise to shine for the Super Bowl is truly a Sweet Victory moment for everyone to celebrate the Spongebob's legacy. It's way better than the ones from 2019.
2019?
@@assassin8636 The same year that brought the Travis Scott song instead of Sweet Victory.
Thank you, Super Bowl! And thank you, Stephen Hillenburg.
SpongeBob being aware of what kind of women Leonardo DiCaprio is attracted to is canon now apparently.
After those 5 seconds years agor, they only made a tribute to the deceased creator to "celebrate" the Spin-Off after his death.
And now it was pretty good, Paramount made their promise about the best episode of SpongeBob.
I loved the Super Bowl overall!! I’m glad that Sweet Victory got played! You love to see it!
Say what you want, but the animation is absolutely beautiful.
Unfortunately, they only played it for the Nickelodeon version. I wish they played it on the original broadcast on CBS.
Edit: STOP FIGHTING IN THE REPLY SECTION
No it’s clear they only did this for the fraction of a fraction of people that were mad at the NFL for not playing this at the Super Bowl 5 years ago after Stephen died and the fans were acting as if they were owed something. Soo yeah the exclusivity to the Nick broadcast checks out in my book
Exactly that why I said it’s trash it’s not even a respectable
Most people who watched this on CBS most likely didn't want to see this
It was played on CBS, just not during the Super Bowl.
Actually I was watching the game on CBS since I don't have Nickelodeon, and I did catch Sweet Victory being played.
“Is this a better Super Bowl performance than the halftime show with Maroon 5?” That’s a weird way to spell Travis Scott.
They were both there but I don't blame you for forgetting that irrelevant mess.
I like Maroon 5 but yeah I see what you mean
Looks like The Super Bowl redeemed themselves after the 2019 stunt at the halftime show
I didn’t watch the SuperBowl but the SpongeBob CGI animation was underrated
The sad part is that was way better than the actual halftime performance
Usher went all out on that performance
YEAH!! but go off
Usher was okay but this was better
Usher was okay but this was better
@@XJIcequeen Agreed
Nickelodeon should broadcast every single NFL game. They should also bring back all of the classic NickToon characters and have them in the game, in the audience, or as a sports commentator. They even mentioned that one of the players in the Super Bowl liked Jimmy Neutron, and that made me smile….
They were only able to because the game was also on CBS which is in the same company

R.I.P 😢💔
I bet Stephen Hillenberg and Bob Kulkick are both Super Proud to hear the Remake Music of *SpongeBob's Sweet Victory* in the *Nickelodeon Super Bowl* this year!
It wasn't a full recreation of Sweet Victory. It was like a hype video. I Swear it's like Nickelodeon is Edging us from a true Sweet victory performance. Hats off to Nick though!
I mean to be fair, this is what we asked for
This is the perfect tribute to Stephen Hillenburg. We finally got our well-deserved Sweet Victory.
Sweet victory has to be one of the best songs in the series’s history
And in fact, the best stock 80s production track (APM) to ever be used on any form of media (outside of Quest for the Best. You can thank the NHRA for that one, watch the NHRA Decade of Thrills 2 VHS tape and you'll hear that iconic track that later got famous with the KK Training Video.)
RIP Bob Kulick and Stephen Hillenburg. You will be missed.
(Clarification: Bob Kulick was the guy who helped make Sweet Victory, alongside David Glen Eisley. He died in 2020 due to heart disease.)
At least they showed the song this time rather than pulling the unforgivable act they did last time we were supposed to get Sweet Victory
What happened last time?
maroon 5 and Travis Scott
This will go down and Legacy
A legendary song played at a legendary game. Truly an experience everyone's gonna remember. I watched the Super Bowl broadcast on Nickelodeon, and let me say that it was wild.
I watched it too. The Halftime Show was also lit, and Nickelodeon did a fantastic job having SpongeBob and his friends in the game. The funniest part is that they even had real life celebrities parodized as the townsfolk of Bikini Bottom. Not to mention that Justin Bieber was in the audience as well. The best part was that Paramount had their movie characters attending the game as well, along with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, who’s going to have his own miniseries on Paramount+ this upcoming April.
Was this Super Bowl 58 cos damn I think I missed this
It was
I'm Surprised They Did it in SpongeBob's new animation.
I did think it was kinda short. I would love more then what we got but I glad it actually happened.
I've been waiting 5 years for this performance at the Super Bowl and it did not disappoint. It truly was a Sweet Victory and almost cried. Stephen Hillenburg would definitely be proud
It felt so good to actually have it be performed in the Super Bowl this time unlike during Super Bowl 53
Bob was downright savage to DiCaprio
A moment 5 years in the making... We finally got our Sweet Victory.
Steven Hillenburg would have been proud
I couldn’t help it, it brought a tear to my eye when I saw it was actually being performed. I was waiting to be hoodwinked like last time but no, it got the tears flowing when I saw SpongeBob singing. Stephen Hillenburg would’ve been so proud to see it happen. I wish he were here to have seen it. Rest in peace Stephen, you finally have achieved Sweet Victory!!!
0:31 so are we gonna ignore this?
Finally ive been waiting for this!
Oh my goodness, this year is gonna be FIRE!
Happy 25th Anniversary Spongebob
THAT'S WHAT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!
Thank you, Spongebob 😢🙏🏼💯
As someone who isn’t a huge football fan myself, I enjoyed every second of this broadcast. The conversations of SpongeBob and Patrick and the hosts were entertaining, not to mention the running gag of Squidward waiting in line for the bathroom! And the performance was great at the beginning to kick everything off. I hope they do this again next year.
I never knew this actually would happen again. 😮
The best tribute for Stephen Hillenburg, i love it!
This wasn't just *a* Sweet Victory.
It was the *Sweetest* Victory.
I was born in 1995, I've not remember much when commercial start playing to promote SpongeBob but boy how I'm getting old, lol
I do remember watching Rugrats a lot
I almost cried. Honestly. It was beautiful. The full extended version of the song + cinematic clips of Mahomes and Purdy? Pure beauty.
Amazing game it was too, especially that ending in overtime.
Not to mention the Chiefs are the first team to win back to back Super Bowls since the Patriots in 03 and 04.
The new animation! 🤩🥹
I watched the whole game on Nick and it was super fun for me to hear SpongeBob and Patrick being sports commentators while jellyfish and bubbles floated around the stadium! I hope they do this again for next year’s SuperBowl! 👍
I wish the Canadian viewers like myself were able to see this live, but regardless, that was a really beautiful tribute to Stephen Hillenburg.
this was definitely a good remake will never beat the classic but for the Super Bowl, Stephen Hillenberg and for SpongeBob’s 25th anniversary YES!!!!😊💛💖 also Stephen would be proud 🥹💛💖💛💖
Just what we needed 🎉🔥
*BESTTTT DAYYYY EVERRRRR!!!*
Idk they had their chance 5 years ago and blew it imo. This is just a painful attempt to fix their mistake. I say this as a 20-year long die-hard spongebob fan.
It's not Nick's fault to be fair, NFL screwed them over last time
I do agree there should be a little more animated shots seen here and there, but I am grateful that terrible five year past is put behind at last.
That's what we been waiting for!
I completely forgot this was happening and I was so happy to see it live!
Honestly, seeing SpongeBob performing Sweet Victory got me a bit emotional. 🥲
It looks amazing well done nick
That’s awesome.
This was awesome that they were able to pull this off.
In 2099 he’ll be 100 years old that’s crazy B 😗
That was so much fun and Very unhinged and I loved it
After 5 years, the moment we’ve been waiting for is finally realized! And it’s worth it!
The Paramount+ Ad from a few years ago briefly featuring the song was a start but yeah this took the cake
I'm not surprised you made a video about this.
This moment is a *Sweet Victory* for all of us
Spongebob in super bowl is just legendary
Amazing video Vail
At least Squidward was part of the band this time instead of directing it, and with his Clarinet no less! Not even bad clarinet playing could stop Sweet Victory from playing! :D
Stephen Hillenburg is crying tears of joy from heaven, his creation finally gets his shot at the big game
I saw it on TV and got surprised
band geeks will never forgotten best episode of spongebob
I loved it! It was epic!
This left a smile on my face, Band Geeks is one of my favorite SpongeBob SquarePants episodes and it's Great to see this finally happen and have a proper Performance! This was truly a Sweet Victory for everyone, Yeah!
This was indeed my best day ever at the Super Bowl. My throat was sore from the game but It was a moment that I would never forget.
I screamed and sobbed with happiness when Sweet Victory finally played, yeah it wasn't the whole song or it didn't play at the actual NFL game but at LEAST it played for Nick's version of the Superbowl and I bet Stephen Hillenburg was smiling being proud of his beloved show now being 25 years old
This performance was just amazing!
"What a time to be alive"
Really after 23 years later and it still works?
I saw this and it was good. But I didn’t like it that the whole band wasn’t here. The band that was on the episode Band Geeks.
SpongeBob’s song should be made as a trend at this point
i’ve been waiting….
the Highlights were
larry the lobster saying he was so excited he commited a personal foul in his shorts
and spongebob saying they could sell taylor swifts nail clippings on ebay (since the game was getting tense and everyone was biting their nails lol)
Massive W
It was brilliant! :)
as soon as that was announced i had planned on watching that and i f'n missed it ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
Honestly this was a awesome moment
I'm just mad that the swifts' tickets are never going away
I am so ready for this return!
