- First video for my enclosed 6x12 camper trailer build... If anyone is adding up my measurements, the center aisle between the two beds is only 20"...
I like the additional pull out counter, the recycling basket, the multiple drawers and cabinets. Your carpentry skills are very impressive. Hope you put out a final video on the finished camper, and your comments from this point to the completion. Thank you so much - your video was very clear and easy-to-follow and your camera work is great!
Hey my brother, looks awesome! For those that don't know this guy, he's very smart, analytical, and humble...great guy! Great video, great job in your tutorial keep it up! My input for your project is this, from having my 5×8 (enclosed) since 04' for pressure washing I would recommend patio paint for under the kitchen sink area, and under the area where you instal the a/c. Its inexpensive, you wouldnt need much, etc. Obviously the purpose is to create a berrier to protect the plywood..Knowing you, you have already considered this, but from experience it worked very well.
Awesome video and your project makes me want to build my own!
Bravo!
You have inspired me. The little plans I had in my head (which is what made me check RUclips) have been blown away. My eyes have been opened so wide for ideas. Thank you for the vid and continued success.
I would try to find a shower pan to fit in. Don't worry about the very tip. You will need an area for piping. And seal the outside of your composting toilet so it wont get water damage. But honestly I would think about putting in a ceiling vent with a fan. Think about how tiny that trailer is, one poop is going to smell up the whole joint. Not to mention the humidity from the shower needs to be vented so you don't get mildew. You are doing an awesome job on it. It's obvious you have put alot of thought into it's layout
One of the best plans I have seen...the security issues you addressed on both entry ways..exactly,,why make it easy..I use to be a financial repo man on mobile homes..I used a drill and socket to remove the bolts on the back door for easy access to complete my condition reports...very easy....I am very anxious for the next video to see more of your construction.
Great skill with the layout and construction. 3- needed elements, bathroom, kitchen , sleeping. You nailed it! All on a single axle. Looking forward to the finish product.
Very nice set up. impressed with the use of limited space..I too have a Jeep and am leaning towards this set up.
At first I thought, "Well, here''s another cargo conversion video " ......
..... , but it soon became apparent that yours was different !
Finally a really practical version, I really liked the security tips and everything is extremely well thought out and planned..
Very nice workmanship and excellent use of a Kreg pocket hole jig by the way.
All the basics covered, very nicely done. A 6x12 will do the job, that's what I have, no where near as sophisticated as yours; mine is a cargo trailer that we camp "innside".
Congratulations on a fine job, keep up the good work and please keep us updated with new videos.
Yeah I really liked his layout. Different from what I've been seeing.
I don’t expect a response, as you’ve really let your comment replying go. But I will say I have looked at countless hours of cargo trailer conversions, and yours is absolutely the 2nd best I’ve seen. It’s highly obvious you’ve put tons of thought and care into its design, as there’s a high level of detail-the sturdy pocket hole joints, the ascending drawer pull-out lengths, and the utilization of nooks and crannies for storage maximization (you have to when there’s that little space to work with)! I didn’t know you could vent an AC through the floor and was about to get a $1000 slim roof AC. You saved me a lot of money. I hope you will at least see this and update us someday.
and as you likely know, you can put an insert into one or both sinks for more counter space as needed. Love your points about security!
One of the best micro conversions Ive seen. You say you are not a carpenter, but you are one hell of a cabinet maker...the drawers are so nice. A well thought out plan.
I also think you did a good job on the drawers but because "you're not a carpenter" I'd like to point something out. Don't be surprised if you have some trouble with the drawers loosening up over time just because the layers of the plywood will separate where you have those diagonal screws (especially the ones directly into the edge in some other places like where the fridge goes). That's just how plywood is, you still did a great job. If you glue a 1/4" or even 1/2" square stock in the corners this will help prevent that. I would even consider breaking them apart and running a bead of glue in the seam if you haven't already. Hope that helps. I hope you post the finished product!
This is better laid out than some of the "professional" models I've seen! Kitchen drawers-AMAZING! Nice layout on appliances! Liked the venting of a.c. Thru floor! Great job! Can't wait to see the rest. Very well thought out!!! Kudos! 😗
The ac idea is terrible. Most professional models are made for profit not quality, so it's not that hard to do better. His craftsmanship is very nice.
Saying its small for a camper is all relative. Many people camp with just a hatchback car:)
Great build.
Fantastic workmanship and planning !!!
Well thought out and nicely executed, would love to see part 2!!
PRETTY P!EASE!
I really think you have done a great job I can't wait to see it done.. awesome work!
Excellent use of space and materials and I like the modification at the entrance.

Looks great Thomas...I can see how much time you spent in planning and building. Gave me some great ideas on positioning things...Sure hope you can put up some more videos...Thanks for sharing
Very nice work on the cabinets and drawers. I can't wait to see it finished with all the facia on it all.
LOL, i Love this video. I did what you did, gut it and saw all the flaw. I insulate, replace the board. They also cut the backup wire. I installed wireless backup camera under $100.
I love the build so far, cant wait to see the other videos...
oh no, just found out its the only one. What a shame, would love to see the finished product since I find this to be one of the best conversions I have seen on YT.
There is a way to secure those torx bolts on the back door. Find the right sized nuts that fit those bolts, run them up till their snug. Mark the threaded part of the bolt an 1/8" back from the nut. Take the nut off then take the torx bolt off.
Put the nut back on the bolt and use a drill press to drill a clean hole all the way through on the mark you made , top to bottom.
Clean the threads around the hole , back the nut off, then re-install with the nut and slide a cotter pin through the hole. Walla, secured bolt. Get the R shaped cotter pins before drilling holes, that way you drill the right sized holes from the start. One bolt on each side top and bottom should be secure enough.
Make sure you have easy access to those cotter pins, you may have to take those hinges off at some point for some reason. I like the way you secured side door, slick idea.🖒🖒
Great video. You are great at explaining everything.
Very well done. It looks like you met all your needs.
Brilliant design, nice woodwork skills, well done. 👍🇬🇧
Great build, and thanks for the security tips.
Beautiful use of space! You do nice work.
Great job so far can't wait to see it finished
Such an excellent job! I wish I had your impressive skills.
Great Job. Well planned with effective use of space. I would have used a NAVY style drop-down bunk mounted on the wall so I could take advantage my bicycles, or ATV, and still use as cargo trailer to move items. ADD power vent in roof with side vents to create a draft, making the trailer cooler at night. A/C window unit - better than nothing; I have added a mini-split with compressor mounted on the tongue. Get A/C and heating with next to no noise and it will run on 8 amps. Enjoy your efforts.....
I just found your video, beautiful beautiful setup and craftsmanship. I really like it
Hi there
great looking and super amount of storage
keep up the good stuff
Great job dude, I'm looking at getting one for myself, so U gave me a lot of good ideas. Thanks
I really have thank you,now i have perfect design, dont need spend long on r&d as far as design, thanks much!
Very nice design, I think! I like the double sink, one a drain or dirty dishes holding spot. Anxious to see finished product!!
That is a well built camper and very well designed
Suggestion. Two words...Murphy bed. Had a similar set up to this then took it all out and started over from the queen size murphy bed. With a shelving unit on the opposite wall. Can hall my Harley bagger with room to spare. And still have a full size shower and kitchen. All in a 6' X 12'.
I would like to do what you are talking about with my new 6x12. have any photos?
Could we see your version , sounds interesting , with a shower and a pooper in a 6x12 ?
I’d make an outside shower to use with an tent enclosure and use a porta potty or even just a luggaboo bucket system...use plastic containers, Murphy beds and a lightweight countertop for a kitchen setup with a kinda deep salad bowl instead of the dbl sink...but that’s imo thanks for sharing.
Wow, I bet the final build looks very respectable. What a thoughtful design. If you decide to share a video of the finished build, I'm sure many of us would enjoy appreciating your creation.
Looks good nice quality work.hey you know what you want and need for your own personal uses i like alot of your design and some not so much but the thing is its yours and you want what you want . all in all great job would love to see it finished and hope to see you out there enjoying it if our paths ever cross. Again great job and happy safe travels.
Your disclaimer not withstanding, you do nice woodworking. Birch plywood in several areas.
As far as the bolts being taken out - my first inclination would have been to double-nut them. That is, put two nuts on each bolt. When the second nut is tightened against the first, they lock so tight that that an impact driver won't get that bolt out.
Great vlog and nice build
...really like it
This is pretty cool - I like the kitchen, drawers, and bathroom setup. When's an update coming??
Great job. Just what I wanted to see for my future plans. Thanks
Dude...you're brilliant!!!!
I think so, as well!
Great build! I would not add anything, seems perfect to me. Greetings from sunny Jamaica.
Nice work and yes you are right is one of the best built or divide once finish.
Great build man. You're very humble, you're doing a great job here. Especially THIS video. I got several good ideas out of this. You posted this two years ago... surely you are done? Please post another video. Curious what you did with the bathroom. I agree with the folks saying to go with a Murphy bed. That way you can still haul a lot of gear until you get to your camp spot. Throw it under an awning next to the trailer.
Wow! Love it! Great job
That is when man plan all, perfect. Great job. Small house on weels.
Fantastic job, excellent ideas. Looking forward to seeing future improvements. GF1 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😎
Great design bro, I may use your plans on mine, minus the double sink. Your right about security, why make it easy for some scumbag to break in . Well done
I love your layout. I just brought my new trailer home yesterday.same size as yours. I will borrow your ideas thanks
great job you built yours much like I imagine I'd build one!
If your not a carpenter and built those cabinets, you have discovered a side job. Those look really good.
Fantastic design and build
I will use some of these great ideas on my current build and so nice to watch a video that smooth not hurried or jerky, this will inspire me to build better and better video on my channel for my teardrop camper
Just about perfect. If I could just pull out the bed elements, if more storage needed for bikes, fishing poles etc. Possibly could stack on the bed area or hang on the back of van or trailer. I am a bit more interested in storage than in amenities. Thinking of using roll up foam bed, or inflatable.
Your workmanship is admirable, as is your design. I may do the whole thing with E-Trak though in order to facilitate variations. It would also not require your talents. Thanks for making the videos, they are very helpful!
All the best,
Ron Wagner
AMAZING!! Thanks for sharing.
Nice work Mate. 🇨🇦👍🏻
Looks great!
Love your Kitchen ALL THE DRAWERS Really like the Ideal of the LOWER long Drawer ( the Toe Kicker )Great Place For your stuff while hiking fishing Ect My self I would rather have a murphy bed .. All in All GREAT BUILD
The door lock can be raked open with ease. Put a bar lock on it if you really want to make it secure. Nice work so far!
Lookin great!
Looks GREAT!
Awesome job!
Good one like it, thoughtful idea
Build a Chuck wagon kitchen you can move outside when at a campground or on public land in hot weather. Modular beds that can lift up for hauling. Totes on shelves that can be stored inside in cold winter. Electrical chase on passenger side of trailer. Propane bottles outside with connector along floor for hot water stove and heater. An exterior connection . a bracket to mount your Chuck wagon on exterior in hot weather. A 10' x 10' x 10' tent cover for shade of your trailer for rain or shad for hot summer days. Reduce heat gain for sleeping. You need ventilation for hot nights. An option security screen on side door that is bug proof.
would love to see another video of further progress and finished product.
T hats a great job!
Very nice build. I like it.
Amazing .. I love your layout Thanks for the video.
Better carpenter then I am -- nice.
Did you finish it? I'd love to see pt. 2. Planning on a conversion of our own soon
Hope you are going make the mattress into sections to accommodate a dinette for daytime use, and use center section for the table top. Also recommend making blocking for your cargo door to use as a patio in the daytime. I really do like what you have done with the trailer, one of the best I've seen, awesome work.
Love the concept of your build! Any chance of getting an update on your project? Very interested in the progress/outcome and your thoughts!!! Please let us know... Thank you!
Grease and snug the wheel bearings up if you haven't already :-) many people think new is good to go!! .they couldn't be more wrong... looks great I run everything on propane in mine, but the farm sprayer water container was a fantastic idea I'm goin to steel :-) :-) thanks
Very good design, the bed I assume doubles as a sofa. I have an ,8x24 cargo trailer that I plan to convert and live in full Time. I especially like the double sinks
Great job though, one of my favorite design, thinkin of makin one for myself and my daughter, go see grand canyon hopefully soon!
Yea its looking very nice
nice job looks good
Just a suggestion,
I would take the top tier (beds) off and lower the beds to the shelf height so they can double as 2 couches face to face for seating and still be useable as a bed with the leaf at nite, us a 24"seat/bed mattress on each bottom and 12" backs that could be use as a filler mattress/back rest, you have way to much storage that thing is going to weigh 2 tons when full of unnecessary cargo, limit storage to limit unnessities, you'll still have under the seat/beds for storage if needed, totes make Great stackable storage or side by side if not needed and they're portable, hope this helps and it's just a suggestion,
Happy Trails
Great Job .!
liking the shower / toilet /AC/Sm. TV .
U B Set .!
GD. LUCK .
GOD BLESS .
Great setup! Nice video! I would say just to add at least one window on the wall across the kitchen -just for security purposes, it could be tinted, but you could see what’s going on outside. I’m looking to buy 6 x 12 as well that’s why I found your video. And you have a new subscriber😉
Very nice!
Not sure I would worry too much about the hinges being a security issue when a pair of tin snips can cut you a 3' x 3' hole in just a few minutes.
Nice build.
Very nice joinery work and planning. Your thoughts about security are interesting. While I would be worried about water intrusion around those doors, you’re worried about an intruder. Good thinking about those screws on the inside. That plywood looks nice enough to stain. Looking forward to seeing the cabinet face frames go on.
Fabulous job. Certainly would like to see the finished result.
Once you fill the kitchen drawers you might be overweight lol, very nice job on storage and trailer. Happy camping
love the design and use opf space, I will be making something similar specially the shower location
Great design
You do have a good design from what I’m seeing
Great job
Love a man who loves his drawers...
Looks like you are doing a great job with your custom camper, I will go see if you have any updated videos on your camper after you got it completed. I see this video was posted three years ago. How well does the Jeep Pull it. I have been tossing the idea of a 5X10 specifically for the jeep to pull it.
Thanks again for sharing and I hope you have a blessed week my friend.
Dale
Nice job.
Good design. Please post part 2.
Nice work
If you should go propane for your kitchen do not put it inside,I've known of people doing that,My Grandfather had his inside in Alaska in his camper shell,He went to sleep in the back,He parked at some all night store,The cops found him unconscious,When he didn't
move the cops broke the window,Saved his life,The video just before yours had it inside
With a light switch above it,WOW!
Really nice layout. Starting to get ideas for my own build and you make some very good points. Most of my questions are in the comments, so I'll wait and see if they get answered. Is there a finished walk through? Thanks for sharing.
Not a carpenter? Cold have fooled me. I've been watching videos on how to build the inside of a cargo trailer or van. Unlike all the videos I have watched, your camera work illustrates in detail how to do a quality build which for me, who is not a carpenter, helps an endless amount. Curious how it turned out. Can you send me the link to your finished product. Thanks so much.
