This trailer was extremely exciting, showcasing the visuals, clean cutscenes, and especially the music and voice acting. Reverie is going to go crazy, seeing how it is a epilogue to the Erebonia and Crossbell Arcs.

@@KikuraKun CS3/4 cutscenes weren't remotely bad or ugly, it's just as expected that as the games evolve, so does the presentation. Even CS1 & CS2 had fine cutscenes, nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be.

Checkout Xenoblade Cutscene in original Wii release more than 10 years ago.
Directing, Choreography, motion, creativity all better than this (might even better than Kuro)
Only thing that original Xenoblade lose is polygon count.

I never thought about it. But guess that makes sense to call this a crossbell game. Always found it weird that 2 of the 3 series main characters were mains in this but not Estelle. Makes sense if I look at it like this though

Spent around 250hrs to complete ToCS 4 and enjoyed every minute of it. I bet I'm going to cross 300hrs with this one because of the three routes. So looking forward to it.

This one weighs 50+GB on pc so yeah. You'll cross 300hrs in this game. You have the largest number of playable characters in the game.
This game have lesser time since main stories were focus so if play normally, it should be lesser than 100 or lesser than 120.
@@KikuraKun It is bigger in filesize but, if i'm not mistaken, the total script length is lower than cold steel 3 or 4. Realistically that would result in less playtime, as the only way I can see people reaching that amount of playtime is if they're reading every single piece of dialogue possible

we are still a solid 2 years behind the JP releases though, and I cant see Kuro/Crimson being done at the same rate as recently, as the only reason we've had zero, azure, and reverie so quickly back-to-back is due to the majority of the translation and port work already existing thanks to the Geofront. NiSA was likely only really fully responsible for Reverie. Seeing as how it will be over 2 years since the localisation of CS4 when Reverie releases, definitely not expecting much in regards to Kuro any time soon
@@ReiReiFoxy that being said Falcom we slow down as well. Kuro I and Kuro II being two years in a row rather than being separated by a game for another franchise like Ys was a rare case, that's why NISA is further behind than it would be otherwise. Even by just doing 1 game per year, NISA WILL catch up because Falcom will not.

My interest in this stems from the extremely strong voice actors they got for it. Aside from that, basically going in blind.
You’re in for a wild ride
This is probably the worst place to get into this series as its the very end of the 3rd major arc.
Yeah, start at Cold Steel 1 or Sky FC something or else you won't understand what's going on
You got 7 months or so to catch up with the series
To echo other commenters, this is a terrible entry point. Reverie is basically the epilogue to both the Zero/Azure arc, and also Cold steel arc. Cold steel has mostly the same voice actors though, so can easily start there. Azure only drops in march, and if you're referring to the dubbed cast, Zero and Azure do not have dubs, but are still excellent and would massively increase enjoyment from reverie

Played the English Translation patch for this game. It’s definitely great and a wonderful send off to Lloyd and Rean. It’s actually not that long of a game. I think I put more time in Kuro no Kiseki. Regardless, this is the perfect game if you want to try out all sorts of new techniques and party compositions.
So Rean and Lloyd are done for now? While Kuro has a new hero?

@@karelanker0 I was also thinking of playing star ocean 5 integrity and faithlessness cuz I've only played the Japanese ps3 version and yeah it sucked but I've had the ps4 version for awhile and was hoping it might make things better
I was going to take a year off from the series once I finished Cold Steel 4, but I'm gradually changing my mind. I might binge Zero, Azure and Reverie next year after all. =p

Seeing as that this game is an epilogu3 to Zero/Azure and Coldsteel1-4, that's why Estelle isn't in the trailer.
That said
This game has 50 playable characters and I'm pretty sure Estelle and Co are some of them.

I'm not entirely sure what time-line this is, because I've barely begun Cold Steel 3 and haven't played 4 yet. But I'm glad to see that it wasn't the end of me seeing Rean & the Class 7 gang again! CS is my top favorite in the series. Even though I haven't ever played the other Trails games yet

Based on all of the other NiSA releases of Falcom's games, I'd say " Yes* "
Depending on the region, not all people get access to the game at the same time. I believe the switch version of zero was 1-2 weeks behind the other platforms in New Zealand, and several days behind in Europe.
Due to how Steam works though, I'd pretty much say it's a safe bet to say that Reverie will drop on PC on July 7th though, regardless of region.
Yes it's all same day. It's why it's releasing in 2023 rather than this year with switch/pc to follow the following year. (Like ys 8 and CS3 and 4 did)

Seeing as this is the finale to multiple arc’s, I’d recommend at the very LEAST to play all trails of cold steel games!
Trails games work in arcs, the next game after this is a new arc so you could wait for that or start with cold steel and catch up

Played all trails games up to ToCS3 (including Nayuta) but I don't think I have time to play this atm due to work and other responsibilities. (not even done with ToCS4). I'll come back to this one day. Hope Kuro is localized by then.

This is what would happen if the trails series had a baby with Zero Time Dilemma-- both having 3 different viewpoints to play from, one of which being by a mysterious masked guy with a one letter name.

where in the timeline is this ? i just started the series with Trails in the sky on my psp. Im not that far into the game but yeah just curious if this is like Kingdom hearts birth by sleep where its a sequel game but timeline its before any of the mainline KH games.
It's about 8 games later the the sky games are a trilogy than crossbell is 2 games and cold steel is 4 games
If you've started with Trails in the Sky, just keep going and following the release order (Japan release order) - Sky games, then Zero/Azure, then Cold Steel, then this.
There seemed to be bits with The chancellor and Crossebelle but how does that make any sense with then endning of cold steel 4?
Wish another publisher would step up to get these games localized faster.

I think this is the best publisher we could get, NISA is known to port japanese games to the west
Honestly if it was a publisher that could localise them that quickly, they'd probably get turned off by the low sales very quickly.
@@ReiReiFoxy Yea that's why I like NISA, they understand us cause they're fans of the series too, (including the voice actors) that they wanna release the final product as best as possible
And it's not really their fault for the slow release, Falcom doesn't give out the scripts early for the games and only does when it's released so that's one thing

In fact don't start this until you finish Zero/Azure (out in March) and Cs3/4.
This game is an epilogue to 6 games. Not just cold steel.

@@vilenskydmitry The price tags are going to be anything but, though. Games also tend to be more expensive in India by comparison. I will personally be getting more new releases this year than in any previous year at least.
