That's what Gaffa and electrical tape are for :) Long, long ago a member of our group had to bail out on some salmon steps. When they climbed out the water, their deck was still on the cockpit rim and they were still in the seat, it has pulled clean off the boat :) Oh the days of having to defrost your kit before you could put it on ..............................
Getting stuffed into an undercut rock, getting trapped in a rock sieve and pinning under a log are probably the three most common causes of fatalities. The American Whitewater Affiliation tracks incidents including fatalities. There are a small number every year in the U.S.
What could be a dangerous situation for White Water Boat Riding? Well, Getting sucked into a sieve, undercut rock or cave would suck dingus....also getting trapped in a strainer (fallen tree with branches)...annnd how about being broach pinned while the river rages on top of you. Accidents happen in all extreme sports and yes people have lost their lives in this one. A few years ago a young woman lost her life in a competition at Great Falls in VA. One moment she was running a stout line, the next she’s in the “subway”, a cave, shoving off this mortal coil. It took them a couple days to extract the body. RIP, she was loved by many. Another fatality that happened recently involved an equipment issue. The woman in-question had a tether on her PFD (a small bit of line with a carabiner, used for rescue, attached to her lower back area). What happened had to do with a bad habit people have, where they wrap the tether around their waist and clip the carabiner across them, taking the slack out of the tether. Why is this a bad idea? Well what happens is that a Closed loop is formed and in her case became fatal. She somehow got caught up in an underwater strainer and ejected from her boat. She was still trapped a foot beneath the water while her boat floated on down stream. Her group went after her boat while she fought till the end, hidden from her crew. RIP, she too was loved by many. Moral of the story, Be safe out there and know where your comfort zone is.
Wouldn't it be great if all the clear polycarbonate recycled plastic was reused to make clear polycarbonate kayaks. Polycarbonate plastic is much stronger that polyethylene. You could see the bottom of the rivers as you paddled.
I cant comprehend the size of those "drops" until you turn around and show us after! Man thats so sick!!
I just want to say thank you! I was really constipated, so I watched this, and problem solved!

What could be the most dangerous situation in this sport? Do fatal accidents happen often?

Positive most kayaks are neon colors for a reason. I'm sure search and rescue would hate your idea lol
One word....... why?
Why not
If you have to ask, you’ll never know.
No helmet?!
The Camera was on the helmet.
