Never been but it looks very inviting and I can't wait to see the video on the hotel, would love to hear the history.
I’m equidistant to both Chicago and Milwaukee but the latter is by far my favorite. The drive up there is easier and the city’s so much more manageable. If you stay at The Plaza again, you should take advantage of that in-room fridge and go to the Milwaukee Public Market to stock up on Wisconsin sausage, cheese, and other goodies. You should also go to Kopp’s for fantastic frozen custard. I like going to Milwaukee for Summerfest (perhaps that’s why you’ll be going there in late June??) and the Wisconsin State Fair in nearby West Allis. I know a lady who makes beautiful jewelry and she usually has a booth at both those events. Her business is Nature’s Finest Art. Also, check out the Bayview neighborhood on the far SE side; lots of cute shops and restaurants (Honey Pie is one of my faves), and there’s a nice little park on the lake with a beautiful old Arts and Crafts field house.

I love the freedom, & I'm enjoying being an empty-nester. I have no one to answer to. I am loving this chapter of my life. 👍😊 I am just used to being by myself now...I love my solitude. Milwaukee looks like a great place to raise a family. 👍😊👏 Obviously...your body needed that rest & a 9 hour sleep. Your body will always force you to rest...eventually. Glad that you got some R&R. Plus, it's always great to spend time apart...it's healthy ...plus, it's great to appreciate each other & not take each other for granted. 👍👏😊 Your outfit will be so comfy for your long drive home.

Dave’s hot chicken originated here in a LosAngeles My son knew them when they were pitching food tents on the sidewalks. So awesome to see their success. I lovd staying at hotels and how cool was that cafe that you went to. Its healthy to get away on your own and re charge . I’m single and enjoy my precious time.

Oh gosh no! I LOVE Dave's Hot Chicken! The closest one to me is 4 hours away so when I realized there was one in Milwaukee, I had to get it! It's sooo good! And yes, I'm sure there are wonderful places to eat in Milwaukee. But on a cold rainy afternoon, we wanted to pick up something quick. Dave's was it.

It has been years since I visited Milwaukee but after watching this, it's making me want to go back. That hotel stay seemed the perfect get-away. I am always a fan of your casual outfits. I bought that waffle set based on you sharing in a video last year. Comfortable and cute. Hope you were able to listen to the audio on the return and had a nice ride back.

Omg!! I’m literally almost freaking out. I just started watching u bc of your puerto Vallarta posts. Especially the Conchas Chinas walk to town. So I subscribed and then watched other stuff and packing. This morning I find you’re in Milwaukee. This is my town. Welcome! I stayed once at the plaza but had no idea it was that cute now. I’ll be sure to recommend to my parents. Great Irish bar across the street at County Clare btw and they also have nice rooms. I know exactly when u were here. Weather changes all the time. Love ur videos and looking forward to my stay at Quinta Maria Cortez. June will be fantastic here. Your kids are adorable. So nice to see my town on ur channel.
Oh wow! Hi!! Apparently the Plaza Hotel has been renovating rooms over the past 2 years and I was in a newly renovated room. So so cute!! Absolutely recommend to your parents when they visit. I saw the County Clare and actually called them for a room but they were having a big St Patrick's Day bash and rooms were booked already.
I am so excited to learn about Milwaukee. I have not been there since I was a child..in the 70s. It really looks like a lively fun place and the hotel is perfect. I hope you had a safe journey home, Renee!

That was some expresso machine they have and wow very well done on the foam art. Looks like such a happy time in their life and the wedding pictures are fantastic. I did like that little kitchen in your hotel room, so cozy! You looked so rested and refreshed on your last day. It must have been so nice to see your daughter as you must miss her so much. Looks like she found a wonderful guy. I like that they allow you to video a little of their place and share it with all your fans. Their kitties are adorable!

I love Milwaukee I have been there three times visiting my son Ronnie. He lives I believe it’s called Washington Heights near the fair grounds. I usually catch the Am track from Pittsburgh. Going there in June.

Love Milwaukee! My husband lived there for a job for a couple of years and I'd drive up from Chicago some weekends! We had a loft in an old building down in the historic Third Ward and were 2 blocks away from the Public Market. The art museum is fantastic, too. Have fun!!!

Loved seeing a little of my hometown, and then getting some nice accolades! I went from Milwaukee, to Wauwatosa, and took the leap to central Texas six months ago! Looking forward to your next Milwaukee video! Take in a Brewers game, then visit the bars that are across the street from the stadium! The surrounding neighborhood is beautiful! It’s off 50 th and Bluemound…. It’s called Story Hill!

Hi! We're not going to Magpie this weekend because I don't care for their indoor events. The venue is just too crowded for my liking. I prefer the fall event which is outside :)
How fun and what a cute place to stay! I've never been to Wisconsin and don't have plans to go, but it's nice to see quaint places to stay! When you first said that you were going to make the 7 hour drive by yourself, I was going to say to download a book! I used to drive 9-10 hours to my hometown to see my mother, when she was alive. I always found a couple of books to listen to. And in September, when we drove to Colorado, I found a couple of book that we would both enjoy. We would listen and pause and discuss it or talk about other things, but it makes long stretches of road a little easier to take! Glad you had such a nice visit with the kids!
When I saw the hotel stairs, front and back my mind started pondering what this building could have been before. Certainly a regular hotel but the additional possibilities include an SRO, a dormitory, or a convent. My Catholic grade school shuttered over two decades ago, then the nuns' residence was sold and rehabbed into condos with private decks and outdoor parking spaces. The front of the Plaza looks to be from about the same era as the former convent.

Welcome to Wisconsin! Milwaukee is such a great city. I’m south of there near Lake Geneva. You should check that out when you come to Wisconsin again, fun little lake town and touristy area.

Did you get a book for the drive home? They make a huge difference! I drove from central Florida (Orlando area) to central Texas (two-day trip; about 18 hours total drive time) and I don't know what I'd have done without books I could listen to (although I did it the old fashioned way--tape player in the car). Glad you had the opportunity to see family.
I completely forgot about it once we started eating breakfast...so no, I didn't get one. I ended up listening to a true crime podcast with 6 episodes that lasted about 4.5 hours. It was pretty interesting and kept me occupied most of the time. Ran into traffic and construction around Chicago so I didn't start the podcast until I was on open road. Worked out pretty good!

Do you think you can give me the name of the Podcaster and podcast? I've accidentally hit on a true crime podcast and had a difficult time finding other good ones. (Read... not tech savvy). I do listen to a few YT true crime if I can't actually sit down to watch. I love audiobooks & now have discovered podcasts.

I lived in that hotel a long time ago when it was apartments.
Loved seeing that latte art done by Tebo. The barista girl at the coffee shop I go to does the latte art as well and it makes sipping down my latte more enjoyable, but I hate to see the art fade away as I sip away. Have fed the cats first and now second breakfast and doing laundry for tops this week. Now I just I wished I had made coffee before starting to watch. BUT I've got a sleeping cat snuggling on me so maybe later, LOL. We had Spring weather for a few days in MI but we're now back to snow flurries on Mon, and supposedly more today. Winter coat weather is back!😂

I traveled last week from Ohio to Ft Lauderdale in 2 days, sitting that long even though we stopped some, I went to get up out off a chair and oops, my lower back hurt like, you know, strained it bad. Sitting is not good, so be careful of the quick moves, slow down, it can happen to anyone, my doc says.💗
Sitting in the car is tough! I stopped twice on each leg of my trip just to stretch (and pee too LOL). It's a must!

I apologize if this is negative but I am curious Why doesn't your husband go sleep downstairs or in the other bedroom. That would be so thoughtful of him knowing he is keeping you up all night for days now. I would loose my mind being sleep deprived with the additional stress of that loud snoring sound. I am mentioning this because you continue to mention sleeping alone and getting some sleep finally in this video!!
I did sleep in one of the guest rooms one night. Our bed has an adjustable bed frame so we can raise the head of the bed. This makes it more comfortable for him.

I think vloggers should keep certain things about their family private. and safe just say your out of town on a business trip or old friends girl trip we shouldn't be told the truth? this one vlogger recently said subscribers came to his home asking for a job when wife was there alone w kids and when he was there too --it happened more than once he said he shutting his business down and channel to protect his family it was getting too much and scary for his wife I dont blame him?
i wouldn't tell these people where i live explore my entire home just stick to one room all the time thats it dont share everything just me?
As a long time RUclipsr, et al, I'm sure Renee, and her husband and daughters, know all about what could happen and have discussed it many times and made their decisions together, they are all wise people who are making an informed decision based on their particular circumstances.The example you gave shows some folks are not too wise, they may do things without thought to the consequences. What did he think could happen?
