All great tips. So much though depends on what country you live (Canada in my case), the yearly weather, product availability, and so on. Unlike in Europe and the UK pond product here is very limited so saving money can be a real challenge which is why many people opt of lower price pumps, etc but as you mentioned planning when building your pond planning is key and done right you can have a great pond with wonderful koi.

Great tips, be something to think about. As someone who desperately wants to keep these beautiful koi one day running costs are a concern. Be nice to see further videos on different filtration systems.

maybe the point is that from the start we have to make perfect planning, we must consider all possibilities in the future so that when we raise koi fish things don't happen that are not expected.

It costs twice as much to hire people to do the pond rather than doing it yourself. Also a well built pond that is heated costs the same as a new family car.

Would you recommend filling the pond with public water (sloot water) instead of tap water when you fill the pond ?

To me, air pumps are a waste of electricity. The same power should be used to flow water through filter. Or a water pump to move water inside pond.

Instead of pumps, use air lifts.
