Hotel Tour: Westin Peachtree Plaza Atlanta

- This is a tour of the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta, GA. When this hotel first opened in 1976, it was the tallest hotel in the world. It rises 73 stories. This is no longer the world’s tallest hotel (which the record now belongs to the St. Regis hotel in Chicago, IL, with 101 floors), but the Atlanta Westin is the tallest hotel I have ever been in my life! Also the tallest building I’ve visited in person since the Empire State Building in New York, NY, with 102 floors, which I last visited in 2011.
Here are the floors I will show to you in this video (in order):
Level 4: Motor Lobby
Level 5: Main Lobby
Level 6: Chastain Meeting Rooms
Level 7: Augusta Ballrooms & Meeting Rooms
Level 8: Peachtree Ballrooms & Meeting Rooms
Level 9: Savannah Ballrooms
Level 10: Fitness Center
Level 11: Pool (picture only)
Level 12: Piedmont Rooms
Level 14: Ansley Rooms
Level 50: Hotel Guest Room
Level 71: Sun Dial Restaurant
Level 72: Observatory
Level 73: Sun Dial Bar
The first 3 floors of this hotel (which are the basements) are not shown in this video as they are apparently for staff only, but everything else in this hotel will be shown.
Note that this video was filmed last month when I stayed in Atlanta.
One more thing, this hotel was struck by an EF2 tornado in 2008 and swayed back and forth about 2 feet as designed, and subsequently endured moderate damage. It took like 2 or 3 years for the building to get fully repaired.

The Building with Many Floor’s is Amazing!
The Westin Peachtree Plaza has the same number of Floors as the InterContinental Los Angeles Hotel.
Don’t get too excited. The key card only lets you access your own guest floor.

@@gabinoaguilar5849 I went to Atlanta on March 6 thru 10, 2022. For March 6 thru 9, I stayed in the Marriott Marquis. For March 9 and 10 I stayed in this hotel, the Westin.

How can the enclosed elevators reach the Sundial restaurant?
They actually do serve the restaurant, but typically it is locked on those elevators.
The only way to do so is to take the glass elevator!
@@elevatoralarmcoasterandarc1214 Well, I actually rode an enclosed elevator to the SunDial restaurant.
An employee took me on one and used a key to unlock the 72nd floor. That elevator actually goes there.
Why was the pool closed?
It was undergoing a renovation as a worker in the hotel said.
They did that at the Hilton recently.
There are 20 Rooms on the 50th Floor.
Why did you tour 3 public restrooms?
I just wanted to show them. I did not film any people though. I just showed the sinks, urinals and toilets.
The hotel hallways are enclosed!
Is the 73rd Floor Adults Only?
Obviously yes, since it is the bar level, and bars are for people aged 21 and over.
But not the 72nd Floor.
@@wandacapstick5476 Nope! It’s open to all ages. It’s the observatory floor. And floor 71 below is the SunDial restaurant, which is also open to all ages.
How many floors in this Hotel have guest rooms?
I think 56.
The guest room floors start on the 15th floor and end on the 70th floor.
All the rooms on the 15th Floor start with 1500 & all the rooms on the 70th Floor Start with 7000.
@@wandacapstick5476 Well I was walking on the 50th floor (the floor in which my guest room was located on) and it didn’t have a room 5000 but did have room 5001.

Why is the 14th Floor shaped like a cylinder?
This hotel has one of the highest glass elevators in the United States!
Sadly, I didn’t ride the glass elevator.
I hope one day I’ll come back and go on it for a ride.
The reason why I didn’t ride it is because I was too nervous to set foot on an outdoor scenic high-rise elevator.

They turn the escalators off late at night. They’ve always done that.
Why did they do this?

Yes, it only lets you access your own floor. I’m always concerned about that.

Yes.

Also, the 11th floor is the pool. Unfortunately I couldn’t film it since it was closed when I filmed this tour. So instead I showed a photo of the pool.

This Hotel has Automatic Flushing Toilets.
The InterContinental Los Angeles Hotel has 73 Floors.
The Marriott in Detroit is 72 floors as well. It has Otis elevators as well.
