Hotel Tour: New York Marriott Marquis

- This will be a full hotel tour of the Marriott Marquis in New York Times Square, a very famous hotel to the elevator community on RUclips! This is my first RUclips video to be over an hour long! It is very interesting to have the lobby on the 8th floor of the hotel instead of the 1st floor, which is where most hotels locate their lobbies. There is also a rotating view restaurant on the 48th floor, but unfortunately it was closed for renovations when I stayed here. Still fun staying in this hotel though! Also, last month this hotel was featured in the episode "Retired Janitors of Idaho" from the HBO TV series "Succession", which aired on November 14 of this year.
In this video I tour each and every public floor of the hotel (in the following order):
Level 1: Street Level
Level 3: Marquis Theater
Level 4: Meeting Rooms
Level 5: Westside Ballroom
Level 6: Broadway Ballroom
Level 7: Astor Ballroom / Business Center
Level 8: Lobby, Gift Shop, Restaurants, M-Club
Level 9: Marquis Ballroom
Level 16: Sky Lobby
Level 23: Fitness Center
Level 30: Concierge Lounge (picture only)
Levels 30 and 31: Spiral Staircase
Level 44: Sky Lounge (picture only)
Level 45: Atrium View
Levels 47 and 48: View Restaurant (pictures only)
Level 21: My room and my parents’ room
And one more thing, at 54:15, what I said was the view of floor 27, it actually was the 37th floor, not the 27th floor.
The hotel is 51 floors tall, plus two underground floors, but some floors of the building were not toured as they are not public floors, such as the two basements and the 2nd, 46th, 49th, 50th and 51st floors, which means the 48th floor View restaurant is the highest public floor of the hotel, although level 49 is an office floor and level 51 is a machine room. But I only showed public floors in this video.
The lobby 8 floor is cool
I stayed there several times before they enclosed the corridors with cages so people couldn't jump off and fall into the Lobby. The hotel was fabulous then. Now, not so much.

@@johnoconnor4019 I wouldn’t necessarily call myself that but it’s interesting to me nonetheless. The only place where I can ride very special elevators is Frankfurt, Germany though. They do have a bunch of amazing high-rise elevators even with destination dispatch, I don’t know if it’s miconic 10 though

A & E: 1, 3-9, 23, 28-45
B, C, & D: 1, 3-8, 23, 28-45
F: 1, 3-9, 23, 28-46, 48-49
G: 1, 3-27, 47-49
H & L: 1, 3-27
I, J, & K: 1, 3-8, 10-27
M & N: -1, 1, 3-8, 10-27
O & P: -1, 1, 3-8, 27-45
Where is the 50th, 51st, 52nd and 55th floor? In floor 55, You See floor 49, and what happens if the elevators go up to floor 55? And also, does any elevators go up to the 50th floor? Or does it goes up to the 55th floor?
When these were Miconic 10 elevators, people would press "55" to go to the 49th floor. I don’t know if this still works with Schindler PORT or not.
There are 51 floors (no 13th floor) and two basements. No elevators serve the 50th and 51st floors.
The 50th floor is most likely the water tower room, and the 51st floor is the elevator machine room.

Use handicap mode the panels talk to u like once u press it at the sc port it will say “this group serves floor 49 to 1 please press again(press the handicap button) when you hear ur destination…49,48,47,46,45,44,43…BLAH BLAH BLAH 4,3,1”ok once u stop at a floor like let’s say floor 44 u click that thing and it will say the elevator u go “44, Car D to right” that’s the difference if u don’t use handicap it’s boring

There is a 2nd floor but it’s served by the scrvice elevators and it’s not a public floor
There’s a movie theater in a hotel? Very uncommon. They’re mostly in all kinds of shopping centers and downtown areas.

It was a sky lobby meeting room on that floor. I stayed on the 21st floor. If you watch the end of the video, you’ll see that my hotel room was on floor 21.

Why did you go in one of the public restrooms in this Hotel Tour?
Well, no one was using the bathroom when I went in.
I just decided to show one of the bathrooms.
The public bathroom I showed is on floor 7, one floor below the lobby floor.
I could have also showed the restroom on the 8th floor lobby, but there might have possibly been people using it.

Yes, it is actually the lower level of the View Restaurant, but people enter on the 48th floor, which is the upper level of the restaurant, and if they want to eat on the lower level, they take a staircase down.

There is no 13th floor in this hotel. It skips floor 13.
Do you have to be a guest to eat at the revolving restaurant?

I don’t know why. Maybe they either didn’t need a pool or just couldn’t find a spot for a pool. But not all hotels have pools by the way.
