- Have you ever wondered how to assemble one of West Marine's broad selection of inflatable boats? This simple video demonstrates the proper technique from start to finish. Follow along as Chuck Hawley provides tips and tricks for making the assembly a smooth and trouble free process.
I love the review when we are told it's easy to assemble try doing this on your big boat.
..one of the better RUclips narrations..good job..
Hey Up Cocker! Thanks very much for sharing this video.... 😁
Here's Chuck Hawley (from West Marine) to teach you how to assemble the SB 275 inflatable sport boat.
The pump is available on our web site. It's quite expensive because it goes to high pressure, but it works very well. If you inflate and deflate your boat frequently, it's a great time saver. You do have to have a 12V battery, however.
@Wasserspeier06 That's a good idea. It's actually not too different that running this video backwards (hello, RUclips, we need that feature!). Let the air out, pull the floorboards up and remove the boards and stringers, remove the accessories like the oars, remove engine, and get all of the air out. This is when an electric pump is helpful; put it in "suck" mode and pull all of the air out of the inflation chambers. The boat will back up very compactly.
Takes me an hour to do it, I can always get one of the stabilizers in the side but just one and getting them out is another story, At first getting the floor boards looked impossible but they will fit using the method he shows, the boats are quite stable but because they are short the way they turn reminds me of driving a fork lift
@pacifictaca I have seen biminis for inflatables, but West Marine doesn't offer them. Great idea; keeps the sun off but allows the breeze to blow through.
This assembly is for the SB-275 boat.
Nice Video!
well done,i use baby powder in the creases to help with assembly

No mention of the keel assembley in the video. I assume it is a separate unit.
From which material is this boat made out of? Please help
Good video. Do you have another video that shows how to disassemble an inflatable boat? Thanks...
could you upload the video how to deflate this boat
We currently do not have that video available - but have submitted it for consideration. Thank you for your feedback!
The most hard job is putting the bottom woods together ! specially the 2 side bar which wasn't shown very well ...!
Thank you for your comments! We have brought them back to the creative team for video suggestions and the buyer team for product suggestions. Thank you!
Need detail on side bar. I took a break after an hour.
can somebody tell me is this hypalon? i have a boat like that and struggling to find a glue for repair.
Hi BabyRattler - Thanks for reaching out to West Marine! The particular boat in this video is a Zodiac CADET AERO.
The buoyancy tube of this boat is made of fabric using plastomer. Hope this helps!
@@WestMarineInc thank you for the answering. My dinghy is sb-275 and I cannot find any information about it. It looks like a hypalon but I’m not sure and afraid to use wrong glue.
Hi BabyRattler - Is your boat a West Marine brand PSB-275? If it is, that boat is 1100 decitex PVC-coated polyester. If not, please reach out to our product advice team by calling 1-800-262-8464 or emailing productadvice@westmarine.com. They can get more details from you and provide the best answer.
your right
what floor bottom is that plastic or metal?
U got a bimini top for these inflatables?
Надувная лодка Аквилон НДНД (Aquilon) 037 - can your stringer survive in this situation?
Is this pump still selling on westmarine? I can't find it there. What brand is it?
Amazon has a wide selection of 12v air pumps. Just make sure it's designed for an inflatable boat (Halkey-Roberts air inflation valves), not cars, beach balls, or kiddie pools. An automatic pressure regulator, shutting off at the desired air pressure (adjustable), is a good, albeit slightly more expensive, feature as well.
The brand is Scoprega their line of “bravo” pumps include battery non battery and non battery low pressure only. The one he has looks like the Scoprega Bravo 20. My local wm has one 7/20 but they have have been pulled from their catalog a while ago. Wm rebrands a cheaper version. Defender has them $50 less than wm. www.defender.com/product.jsp?id=6296135
how much did you buy this pump help me
why does the diver have no seat? can you add one?
This is a tiny boat, with only about five feet of usable floor length. Easy enough to reach the tiller/motor handle from just about anywhere inside. Most just sit on the side tubes anyway. Seats become more functional in larger inflatables.

When in direct sunlight all boats will expand........ not shrink
Hi @Full Send Fishing - temperature is a more important factor than sunlight, as it will cause an inflatable boat tube to expand or deflate. For this reason, it's important to check (and top off) air regularly. Thanks for your post!
@@WestMarineInc I was correcting a sentence in the video. Yes temperature is the resultant
@@bloodypajamas1944 Got it - thank you for catching that!
2:25 he literally says it expands in the sun. And it will shrink a bit in the water because water is cooler than the sun. Physics I know 🤯
"Seven to ten minutes" for assembly is BULL! I have owned this boat (West Marine SB-275 by Zodiac) for the past ten years. It takes AT LEAST 45 minutes to assemble, and 1 hour is more likely. Don't get me wrong, I like my SB-275. However, lying about the assembly time in this assembly video (notice the editing of that part of the video) does not build confidence in West Marine's advice.
agree))))
Cool
How much this boat
Berapa panjang perahu?
What about the engine set up
The engines are sold separately so they were not showcased in this video. Thank you for the feedback!
You don't mention how to attach the seat!
Great callout, Donald! Thank you for the feedback. This video is really old, if we make an updated video we'll be sure to include that piece of information :)
So, despite the title, this is about assembling the SB-275 inflatable, not an inflatable boat in general. Every boat is slightly different - floors, no floors, floor braces, no floor braces, seats, pumps, and so on.
How long before they rip heaving and thumping and jamming those floorboards in like that? Treat it with more care man!
Thank you for your comments! We have brought them back to the creative team to review.
putting the floor is a headache
Get an inflatable floor no headache
Completely agree that assembling the floor is more that just a headache. It’s almost impossible to do this without a second person, trust me. Only for this reason I want to get a trailer to eliminate the floor assembling process. So think about, do you have a second person who will be helping you during the assembling?
U gloss over the hardest part, the stringers
Joe, thank you for your feedback. We have sent your comments to our creative team for future recordings. Thanks again!
HAHAHA NICE BOTTOM
