I’ve had my Lyra-8 for several months now and still have no idea what I’m doing, but damn I love it. It just sounds monstrous. The wailing and screaming you can get out of it is incredible.
Well, i love tuning the Lyra wich i think is a challenge all the time 🤣 and when the sweetspot arrives it's heaven. But, your explanation was great and very inspiring! 👏👍thanks
This is truly organismic… have no idea what it’s doing, but boy, does it roar! Love the comedy meter… ha ha ha. Sub woofer is a must folks. Great way to start my Friday. UK time for me. Thanks Luke 😀👍🏼
That was fun. That's the kind of stuff I'd put in the looper to jam over. Or, just set the LFOs real slow and have them modulate the time controls. Random thought: some of it sounds like FM synthesis gone "wrong." I wonder if I could get anything like that out of the opsix .... hmmmm ....
The way I see it: that Lyra is a monster that is out there to eat all our partners who do not agree with our synth seeking. As far as I can hear from its roaring it already had one for breakfast. The sounds are amazing, but I can not imagine having a real use for this. Still a great video Luke!
I tune my Lyra8 a different way but in all honesty I don't think it takes kindly to being tuned in the way we know. Its a beast with its own brain so you have to go along with it. To tune the first two pads on the left ti a specific note I have all the knobs at the top zeroed except the volume. The Hold knob zero. The four switches in a row for LFO in the up position ( lfo off) Place finger on pads no 1 and use the tune knobs to get the frequency you want. But the Lyra8 does not want to be tuned. It is the CAT of synths. It was not designed to play the ( music) we are acustomed to. It was designed to take us into space and blow our minds. I will never part with my Lyra8. We always have a party together. Its like having a Lion as a pet. If you are sensible you do what the Lion wants!
Where do you live to be already Friday? It's only 9pm..... Lol.... Just kidding... Love your channel, encourage me to jam more on my synths instead of seeking to program the "perfect" sounds I hear in my mind and not go forward recording stuff. Keep up the great work.

Thanks pal! High praise! The old movie of the new one? Lol!
That is after looking your Roaring video that I bought a Lyra-8. It is right here by my side atm. My wallet thanks you dearly! 😀
My apologies to your wallet!

I’d like to hear you try. :)
@@synthseeker Me, too... coincidentally, the opsix is next week's victim ... er ... featured synth ...

I sampled mine. And I’m thinking of trying to feed it into a wavetable generator.
@@synthseeker Okay now we are talking!
Fantastic video as always. Love my Lyra. Demonic meditation every time I use it. I cringe at that sentence, but it’s the only way to describe it….!
Use whatever descriptors you need. :)

Should have been called the LION ATE
As long as you’re having fun! :)
hmmm... I really need one of these things........
“Need”…lol.
@@synthseeker haha, yes... the "need" word 😀

I get too excited to publish it on a timer after I’m asleep! Lol! Thanks for the kind words!
Nice! What kind of external effects are you using in this performance?
A Roland Dimension-D Chorus and a Valhalla shimmer reverb. They are software though, not hardware. :)
okay, a question...
does the sound of the Lyra-8 change over time as it warms up?
Not that I’ve noticed but it’s possible.
The envelopes change as you warm up though….
@@cozyvandal8265 thank you for that 🙂 👍
