    Considering all of the engineering that went into the manufacturing of that peeler, it’s a testament to innovation. Way beyond my pay grade.

    That beats my Pampered Chef pealer! I'd be willing to carry that big ol peeler up from the basement anytime!! They don't make things like the old timey days for sure.

    I was around ten years old when I saw my grand mothers apple peeler and corer. The same one as yours. I'm now 65. Its wondaful when old things become new again.

    I remember my family going to the big mall in the city to the Piccadilly cafeteria on the weekends sometimes, especially when my grandparents were visiting, it was next to the hickory farms cheese shop. What wonderful memories you reminded me of Justro, thank you so much!

    This is an exact model of an original Goodell Bonanza apple peeler. They worked exactly the same way, I wonder which one of them came first.

    Great tool for the job! Perfect this time of the year. My Nana made apple dumplings and butter most of the time.       @@metcalfmills5679 Yeah, I got my old corn sheller out this morning to shell my seed corn for next year. Worst year we have had in S.E.LOUISIANA in many years. But there is always next year as long as both my feet hit the floor. Miss canning pears, all the trees got the blight and died.

    Oh I love that old machine, why the heck did they reinvent it and take out some of the best features. The newer ones don’t pop the core off and it’s hard to remove 😏 they also added a slicer, which is nice but not adjustable and it slices them really thin, too thin when canning.
    You got real lucky to inherit that beauty !!!$

    Doesn't work nearly as well as yours.

    I have a little new one. Not nearly as impressive as this one, but it sure does save time making fresh apple pie or getting apples cut up to dehydrate. Mine cuts the apple into spirals then I can cut down the center with a knife and get nice thin wedges. I have difficulty getting my fruit centered most times, though. Still worth it.

    Good video. That is a good looking machine. It is amazing of the engineering that was done on these machines and they were built to work and work and work.
    Two questions: saw the grease fittings. Do they make a food grade grease or would you use just regular grease gun grease?
    2. Is the peeling blade changeable?

    The peelings are very thin, making less waste. If I were peeling the apples by hand, after a lot of apples my hand gets tired and the peelings get thicker.
