Wonderful story! When I went to rescue shelter to adopt, they put us all in a big huge pen. I worried myself sick how I would pick. All dogs deserve homes. How would i ever pick one? They all ran around totally ignoring me. My Vayla immediately jumped in my lap and stayed there while everyone else kept running around oblivious to me 🤣! Vayla never left my lap. She chose me for sure! She made it easy, thank God! 🤍🥰
Aww, so glad your Mom and Chuck rescued the dog in order to find his forever, happy home! That's how human angels work for our furry friends sometimes. We don't always know just do what feels right at the time.

But the garbage man did me a favour by teaching me not to judge a person by their profession. That being a garbage man was as worthy as being a construction worker or a CEO. I am grateful for that. We got one of our dogs, Dakota, when she was just a tiny thing. When she was old enough to leave her mom, we adopted her. Dakota has NEVER liked men outside of the ones living in our house. Anytime one of our kids would bring their male friends over, Dakota would just yell and yell at them. She’s never done this with females. She still does not like men outside of our family. I have no idea why. She’s a good girl (sometimes a little wild, lol) I believe animals pick their people.
Not to be crude, but dogs have super-keen noses, and old people smell different than young people. That dog was smelling the outdoors and wild animals on the young people, and unpleasant indoor smells on the older couple. His nose picked it up before the doors were even opened, which is why he started wagging his tail and made a beeline for his new family.

My boy Luke is my Tommy from 1996 reincarnated. In 96 he was killed by Rottweiler. Now in this life he does not like dogs. He’s also very clingy. I had a cat that didn’t like Women. She liked my male neighbor .. even after he poisoned her she went back to their house. I had dropped her off at an elderly lady’s house far away and she still went back to neighbors.
I was on Facebook one night. I saw a picture of a little cute puppy (Lilly) on one of my friends pages. He was giving her away. I did want a little dog so I decided to go look at her. When I got there, I saw Luke and he tried to come over to me, but my Facebook friend didn’t want him to. So as I was sitting there talking to my friend and saying I would take Lily, I also wanted Luke, but he said he wanted to keep him so I played it cool and went home. Then I talked to him on the phone the next day and said if for any reason you can’t keep him, I’ll take him. Two days later, he called me and said he was bringing him over because he lost his temper and hurt him because Luke Peed on his pillow after Lily left and he was also doing dialysis and was an alcoholic so he brought him over. When he put him in my arms, I got really excited and he saw that and said let me have him back. And then I got nervous, thinking he was gonna change his mind, but he just wanted to kiss, and then Luke finally did kiss him, and he handed him back to me. I played it until he laughed and then I just let him melt into my arms and I was in love. He slept on my chest for the first year of his life. He was so happy to be back with me. And he healed my broken heart.

I have had dogs since I was 4. Almost 65 now. Dogs just know❤ They found me or i found them❤
