I just spent hours doing this and I think this video omitted some steps. It would have been much easier if you fish the cable from the top. I don’t understand how they could do it from below and not to bend the cable in the process. Bending the cable will cause it to bind and cause difficulties to lock and unlock door lock with the key. You are unable to see where the slide pin goes from below as well. Remove both inside and outside window glass gaskets. Roll the window up. Then remove the metal window guide rail next to the latch. Then roll the window all the way down to gain some space so you can see how to guide the end of the wire into the door latch. You can see the door latch from the top of the window gap. The door latch also has to be in the locked and closed position for the cable pin to slide in or out from the catch in the door latch mechanism. A long screw driver is helpful for guiding the cable pin into the door latch mechanism. I think the instructions in this video is inadequate and causing so much frustration for anyone thinking only to spend an hour following this video. But if I had to do it again I probably take out the whole door latch instead of trying to mess with the cable into with it in place.

I have other issues with my Volvo truck like the door passengers side lock won't stay lock (the swith inside) and the key wont turn it to stay lock also. Also my air dryer is acting kind off weird too. But thanks again.
If your old cable looks exactly like the one in the video, the missing part is probably stuck in the plastic piece of the latch mechanism, don't ask me how I know 😀😀. Please remove the latch mechanism to save yourself time and agravation , T30 T40 and 12 mm needed
I figured it out, take the panel off all the way and brake out the little plastic door on the latch there is a star bit screw behind it unscrew it and the door will open.

Where would one get those white plastic retainer clips at? Ones on my door broke and let's the panel get caught In the jamb

How did you release the rods attached to the lock?
I can't open door at all if there a way to release latch ??
You can do it while the door is closed. But 2:35 is really difficult
