I always watch the videos for both parts of the wager. Always great fun. Also did anyone see that Alex and Kevin are back win diggnation? Popped up in my recs yesterday
Glad Germain finally got justice for Top Gun Maverick and he did it with a similar type of film in Twisters. Overall the summer box office was pretty decent all things considered especially after the horrible May.
Quiet Place suffered with the streaming date, some of these studios just keep screwing over their movie box office take It Ends With Us got the Ryan Reynolds/Maximum Effort boost and got some heat off dead pool and Wolverine , Ryan and Hugh and Ryan mom promoting a movie … wonder if any of them watched the movie
It's a fun Summer Movie Wager episode when Dave and Jeff get it handed to them, or if they dominate the picks... and enjoy the $hit talking when one of them just totally dominates
I'm super down for the snarky Germain villain arc. This is a great episode of the podcast. I'm already looking forward to next year's summer movie wager.
I know you guys raved about how well Twisters did. But that was front loaded and didn’t do that well. It made 369m ww on a 155m budget. So it didn’t even make 2.5 times its budget back.
I didnt think IF was anywhere near as bad as those two claimed. Especially when they had such high praise for Day One. To be fair that film wasnt made for them, was made for young kids who probably loved it.
Germain picking a movie that literally 95% of the audience is not interested in. He wants everyone to follow him off the podcast /s. Haha. Next year i an rooting for Devindra so you xan all watch firefly. Thanks for the great show!
I got 58 points in the wager, even thought I only got one 10 with Despicable Me 4. I thought I had Twister and Bad Boys right but I had reverse their order and lost 6 points. The Fall Guy and Furiosa was my big misses. Overall ended up on 376 place, which was pretty good for a first time. Next time I just going to copy's Peter list, and change one or two titles.
If the Rock can't Draw Massive Anymore, No One Can. And even the Rocks thing is Stale as Hell now. The days of Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Brad Pitt etc bringing in Huge Box Office are Mostly Over. Glenn Powell, Zendaya, Timothy Chalamet are the New Generation Prospects. We will see if they can bring in Huge Receipts Throughout their Careers. Scarlett Johansson & Channing Tatum in Fly Me to the Moon, Bombed(Fantastic Film Btw). Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Pt 1, a Complete Underperform(but to be fair, the Barbenheimer situation could have something to do with it). Fall Guy starring Ryan Gosling & Emily Blunt, a movie that from the trailers, just felt like it would make 700 million worldwide, Bombed. Argyle(Terrible Film), starring Henry Cavill & Bryce Dallas Howard, Bombed. Furiosa, starring Anya Taylor Joy & Chris Hemsworth, Bombed(shameful on the general audience because this is imo a legitimate Masterpiece, the Quality was Astounding). So, Jeff is correct, there's a lot of, "oh hey, there's that actor that's in that thing that I already love" not " i love this actor/actress, I'm going to see their thing". Barbie was Huge, but it was Barbie(Massive IP) Played by Margot Robbie, not "its Margot Robbie! Im going to see it! and shes playing Barbie"
@@ghosface353yeah I agree, and there's not much left that the studios can mine anymore. They've got to come up with brand new material across all genres of film
Felt like the people who really were into Furiosa were in a bubble. Like a prequel spin off starring a less famous actress than the one who originated the role sounds doomed to failure. Sounds like Solo.
The industry put second string actors and image that audiences would not notice and try to make big bucks out from that? Dream on and stop going to P Diddy’s parties
The open racism against white men is interesting. But that's allowed I guess. And Germain choses a children's disney movie? A case of arrested development huh
This podcast should be a national holiday
lol, Germain with the line “I went in Jeff Cannata” aka “totally clueless”
Favorite time of the year.

again?

🙏🙏🙏🙏 Best part about summer ending... The wager cast
Arguing in favor of spoilers on opening weekend is completely crazy. I can't believe what I'm hearing.
BJ still rockin that Phantom of the Paradise poster! Nice

Big fan! Just wondering if you guys are going to review the number 1 comedy and documentry of the year?
I know you guys raved about how well Twisters did. But that was front loaded and didn’t do that well. It made 369m ww on a 155m budget. So it didn’t even make 2.5 times its budget back.
Nice glasses Peter!

I was number 7 at the start. I was 3293 at the end. Anybody have a greater fall from grace?
Will you guys ever gonna review Jackpot!?
No Devindra?
Movie wager woohoo 🎉🙌

IPs are the only thing that can draw masses. Deadpool and someone like Iron Man probably can, but not much else can.

The Fall Guy is what I was afraid Bullet Train would be. Meanwhile Bullet Train rules and The Fall Guy was a C- for me.
Felt like the people who really were into Furiosa were in a bubble. Like a prequel spin off starring a less famous actress than the one who originated the role sounds doomed to failure. Sounds like Solo.
And yet it was an amazing movie. The missing link between Mad Max 2 and Fury Road. Sounds like Solo? Sounds like you haven’t actually seen it.
I thought Fury Road would have built up goodwill, and everyone that liked it would watch Furiosa. So I thought it would at least make $150 million.
@@adamh8876 I am not commenting on the movie's quality. I meant it in a way that as a product I don't see who it was made for.

AQP part one was so boring also. And unscary
Thanks for adding BJ this year, really love whenever she’s on… but no Devindra on this pod is criminal! How could you 😂
The open racism against white men is interesting. But that's allowed I guess. And Germain choses a children's disney movie? A case of arrested development huh
It's fashionable these days. And I'm not even white.
BJ Colangelo nose breathing into the mic... ugh. She needs to back off the mic. jesus.
I can't imagine the noise in-person 😂😂😂😂
The camera is always on her when someone else is talking, so weird.
And we all know why she is breathing so heavily. No secret to it😅
