    We’ve had great success at Riffe over the years. It’s one of our favorite places. They also release spring chinook in there, although the meat can be whitish and soft in the summer months. But fun to hook into on light gear.

    Several years ago, before they lowered the level at Riffe, l caught a nice chrome hatchery steelhead off the rock cliffs next to the dam. I know they release springers in there too.

    This had to be last year. The lake is to low right now to even launch a boat.

    I'm heading up to Mayfield again this Summer and I get bored catching so many trout there. I tried Riffe one day but only got 1 trout. That lake is so big, where is a good place to go for kokes on that lake? I'm in a kayak and launched at the boat launch in the park so I can't go super far.

      There's no Kokes in Riffe mainly landlocked Coho,Trout,Smallmouth, and hatchery salmon and Steelhead releases. I caught a Cutthroat in there one day but it's the first in almost 35 years of fishing the lake.

    I see this video is released one month ago. Obviously from last spring, or fall. The lake is so low right now I don't think there's going to be enough rainfall or snow melt to even be able to launch a boat this summer. Complete mismanagement from Tacoma City Light there is no excuse for it. They use the excuse of earth quake prevention.

    • @AnglerWestTV
      @AnglerWestTV  Год назад

      That was last year. Heard there's an issue with the dam. It's still possible to fill but we haven't heard of any details.

      @@AnglerWestTV I was told from one of the higher up workers at the damn that the state has them keeping the damn low for earthquake prevention! We have not had that big a snowpack this year and not that much rain either. I really hope they hold back enough water to at least launch a boat. If not Tacoma City Light has enough money to extend the boat ramp. It's April 14th and you still can't get on the lake unbelievable

      Actually they aren’t. We’ve done well on 8” to 20” leaders. Mostly a speed and depth thing there.
