I think this is just Jeremy flexing how good he looks in all these different styles of clothing
Artist flex 💪
He’s like low key that’s the only reason I did this
I know this is an old comment, but Jer uses they/them pronouns!
sus
*Atheist Wizard, talking to God:* "I've turned lead into gold, my Lord. Frogs into men. Men back into frogs for some reason. Pretty cool swords into magical, very cool swords that can shoot Zelda lasers 'n shit. What have you done?"
*God:* "I made the world's most adorable man. Look, he's covering the BossTones right now."
*Wizard:* "Yo, dude! _My Man! I got'chu, fam!"_
*God:* "I know, right? Yo!"
that Midwest emo was too accurate, like it was more Midwest emo than an actual Midwest emo album
pls make a full version of it, it was amazing
Agreed so much. I liked the Big Band too.
Still waiting for the full version of that Midwest emo cover
@@punx9651 I'm waiting for a powerviolence cover
Always wanted to be in a ska band. Never considered just BEING the WHOLE ska band.
Clone yourself
This title is clickbait, I think you meant to title it "The Impression That I Get, Except It Totally Slaps In a Bunch of Different Genres"
HyphenatedReality I love this comment
If you ask me, a great song defies genres - you could play it in any style and it would still be a great song.
xd
Damn it I wanna like this comment but it's perfectly at 666 likes xD
@@jasonmedina7058 Literally the problem I'm having
I really wanna hear a full cover in that Midwest Emo style... it's freaky how well it works
Matt Kelly I hav this theory that there’s only nominal differences between emo and ska
MirumExMachina I mean pretty much.
he almost could've just called it "dashboard confessional" that's the sound he got lol
@@WineRedEchos It's definitely got more of a Braid and Further Seems Forever sound (but Chris from Dashboard was the first vocalist of FSF so that makes sense)
I had to stop the video to make sure it didn't change to a Tiny Moving Parts music video while I wasn't looking.
The drum corps bit fucking killed me, that was awesome and hilarious. Really nailed the percussion in that bit too, my brain went right back to high school drum line.
Rip Steakface This former band nerd loved it too! (Clarinet tho lol)
Let’s be real. High School band is the reason we listen to Ska to begin with. Half my school’s section techs were Streetlight Manifesto members. They were all band nerds.
Seriously, the front ensemble mallet runs were so dead on. Also loved the water jugs, nice touch.
All it needed was a Dr beat blasting over a small P.A. "binkbinkbinkbinkbinkbinkbink!!!"
I burst out laughing at Drum Corps. I love how all the genres are more niche or less obvious instead of just "classical rock" and "jazz." Quality content
Same. Thought Midwest Emo was funny, lost it at Drum Corps.
I mean, R&B…
@@SR71_Blackbirdi want a full version in drum corps
Mid-West Emo: Kinda depressed I've never had to knock on wood.
Powerviolence: Really *Angry* I've never had to knock on wood.
I need a full version of the skate punk and Midwest emo
William Craig big facts
exactly what i was gonna say. (and i wouldn’t mind a full power violence one)
This
hook them right up to my veins
+1
"One person will learn to knock on wood"
Genre: Percussion
Woodblock cover
LOL
I have never seen someone so perfectly aware of the demographic they're hitting. This video is genius on so many levels. I'm literally in awe. The Sistine Chapel of genre swap videos. You've done it.
I don't think people realize how much work went into this. That is a lotta different instruments and separate recordings to mix and track, not to mention all the video recording and editing. I woulda done 2 genres and given up. Nice job man.
Doo-wop ska wasn’t something I knew I needed in my life but here we are
Man, I admire your understanding of composition the attention to detail you put into the intricacies of different genres. I'd love to see more content like this. Maybe, Santeria would translate as well as this song?
-what we want?
-Midwest emo!
-when we want it?
-Now!
Pd: amazing job dude! Great video.
yah, there's a FULL version of it somewhere . . . right?
Didn't need to flex on us so hard with the midwest emo and powerviolence man......... lovin it.
Requesting full version of that Mid-West Emo version tho
I second this request
Third
Jimbo Jones fourth
fifth and every other number after that.
me too
Could this channel become 10 second songs but with really niche genres?
* whispers * yes please
I loved this idea.
That was my thought exactly 🤣 10 Second Songs optimized for basement/garage/suburbs 90's kids
Dü bisch so en diego, diego :*
@@deimos7305 Ma' man
when it goes from power violence to synth pop it sounds just like mid 2000s myspace scene music lol
Attack Attack and I Set My Friends On Fire are so interestingly awful.
@@KnivingDispodia he sets his friends on fire
I love the Midwest Emo, but I actually wanna hear a full Bossa Nova cover!
The genres you covered here are so much more unique and interesting than other videos like this that I've seen. The fact that you can identify the aspects of the song that would translate to Midwest Emo and Bossa Nova is incredible and shows off your immense musicianship. Definitely do more of these!
Midwest emo was my favorite 😂 and hell yeah with the powerviolence, didn't know you had it in you!
I hope you did that one last. That would have to kill your voice.
I feel like this was Tiny Moving Parts all day haha. So great.
i was very pleasantly surprised to see powerviolence and Midwest emo, especially with how accurate the Midwest emo one was, like it sounded straight off of a sports. album
Can we please get a full midwest emo cover?
little known fact: that was the full powerviolence song.
As a band kid that Drum Corp version was 👌
I really want to be friends with you, I love how much fun you have in your videos!!!!
the water jug for added realism
The visuals got me.
The Midwest emo part actually made me wish I had listened to more Midwest emo back in the day.
Please do the full cover. Please!
It's never too late to listen to more midwest emo
These are all amazing. But 1:47 NAILED IT DUDE!!!!
Collab with Steve from "Let's talk about math rock" would be amazing, dudes are both crazy talented!
Yes! All sorts of early 2000 feels!!
Seriously! I want to just listen to the full version of the song as a Midwest Emo song now.
I came here to say this exactly. Also totally agree with @RockPaperBFG below. I would 100% rock an Omaha Emo cover of The Impression That I Get.
Arthur Malavasic any songs that sound like the Midwest cover?
2 things:
1. GREAT JOB WITH THIS.
2. You should front a hardcore band. Haha.
I bet alot of the songs would be like New York's alright if you like saxophones.
The synthpop has strong Hot Dad vibes
Also, mad props for still talking about powerviolence lol
The recursive lo-fi scene was unexpected and hilarious
that powerviolence transition was god-like
Can you please do a full recording of Midwest Emo? That was awesome!
Man. I came here to say the same thing. SO GOOD!
Now I want to listen to Braid
I need an entire album of this. Just this song, in different genres
Throwing in my vote for a full Midwest Emo cover, bring me back to 2008 please ✌🏼
This is some damn fine editing. Must have taken you forever to put together
This is AMAZING. You did a great job of nailing all these genres!
EDIT: STUDIO GHIBLI FILM OH MY WORD
need a full version of bossa nova for when I get high
Bro, the massive water bottles in the drum corps bit is the most hilarious detail. Needed that.
Midwest emo. Classic. Lol
Loved it. Great variety. Liked the poerviolence bit too
That powerviolence had thrown me for a loop but was that ever a heckin good cover!
I never wanted this to end!! The effort and talent behind this really blew me away. Keep at it SkaTune you are amazing!
This video was incredible. Dude you have gotten so good at your editing skills.
Just one slight criticism.
There weren't enough water jugs out there during the DCI part. Broke suspension of disbelief, 1/10... j/k. This is one of the best videos I've seen in a while. A big thank you!
Skatune bringing in the 4th wave!
skatune IS THE 4TH WAVE singelhandedly
You're a natural with that Bossa Nova. You might be onto something 😉👍
Wow, wow, wow, wow -- the attention to detal, the diversity of genres, the humor and visual accuracy --- and general musical excellence; what a fantastic thing you've done ^^
(And you're a Ska person? Comrade!)
Hey guy, I think what you're doing is freaking amazing. I'm a Super Fan of ska and punk rock from the 70s 80s 90s and a bit of the last two decades. My Holy Trinity is The Clash, Operation Ivy and Rancid. I think what you're doing is absolutely amazing. This video blew me away. This song hits hard from freshman year of high school man. It was big in transitioning me from pop rock radio of 1996 2 punk rock and ska Punk. Thank you.
My six-year-old son, who generally doesn't like anything but the pop songs his mom plays in her car, is a fan of this and gave it the certified stamp of approval for first graders in 2019. Thank you for what you do. I love your videos and whenever I watch them I feel an overwhelming desire to hug you. I mean that. This is so positive and so fun. Thank you again and keep doing what you do. This is great.
this is pretty dope! I think if you ever do this again, some genres you could imitate would be "Steven Universe style" (you know how that sounds, I imagine), anime opening, smooth jazz, 50's Rock, Opera, and Broadway Musical.
Bossa Nova is pretty much Steven Universe lol
I'm practically in love with every version of this. I need a full version of that lofi lol. Keep it up!
Same
Ima need a a 2 hour version of it too
Your best video ever, by far. Really shows off what a versatile musician you are.
0:52 Are you sure you didn't just take this from a Tony Hawk game? Because that is spot on!
I felt a tiny moving parts vibe with Midwest emo lol.
Absoultely, can't ignore that little opening tune that screams American Football Either.
TMP all day!
This was the one ska song that everyone knew, even if they weren't into ska. It was gateway ska for me and then I got into the real stuff like Streetlight Manifesto. Thanks for keeping this genre alive.
Same. It was watching Chasing Amy that made me search out this song (the song was featured in that movie). I should not have watched that movie at 12 years old...lmao.
The digimon movie introduced me to this song at a young age!
@@TheDGomezzi Hah! "Digimon, digital monsters, Digimon are the champions!" Whoah, nostalgia.
It's nice to find a random but talented and cool guy because I knew the song and clicked the recommended video!
Also, I didn't think Studio Ghibli was a Genre, but y'know, it's okay to admit when you're wrong, and I guess I was.
This was fantastic! A few of those absolutely deserve to be full covers!
The Midwest emo one hits close to home xD. This was awesome!
okay im crazy into the powerviolence version though. it sounds....so good
I've seen so many of your awesome videos and can't believe I've never seen this before! Truly mind-blowing!
Killed it on that Midwest Emo part! I want a full version of that!
Well, that was adorable.
Thank you for this lovely tribute to the music of my favourite band.
Dude, this is beyond great. I didn’t know I was missing this in my life. R&B and Bossa Nova are my fave
I love how creative you were with not only musical style, but editing, dancing and setting. Fantastic video :)
So, you are telling me that this song kicks ass in every possible genre? Nice.
The Movie score and R&B sections are low key hilarious
This is a lot better than most genre changing vids! Love it.
I have ZERO idea why this was recommended to me, but I am so glad it was. Midwest Emo and powerviolence were just.... *chefs kiss*
My guy this is beautiful. I never knew how much I needed something until today.
Everything about this is so amazing. I'd love to see a Midwest emo theory video sometime!
The Drum Corps part immediately made me think of 8 (circle) by Bon Iver...which makes me need you to cover him.
This is brilliant! It hits every style so convincingly in all elements. I'm sad I only just found your channel after your Ali collab, thrilled to see Ska coming back.
This was absolutely incredible! I love how you committed to each genre with the costumes.
Nailed it. The Studio Ghibli Film one was accurate AF.
Low key need more drum corps in my life.
Having lofi, bedroom pop, skate punk, and doo wop back to back was like a emotional journey to all the wild music i love????
This was so fantastic!!! I hope you do this for more songs.
Brilliant! I didn't see the drum corps coming.
Midwest emo sounds straight like tiny moving parts
This is a total breath of fresh air for the "song in many styles genre" type video, great style choices, great effort in the video, just great all round really.
Extreme talent + hard work seriously pays off, this guy is magic. You're going to keep going places my friend!
This is the content youtube needs hell yeah Jeremy!
This is more like it congrats! Skate punk and power violence hell yes.
What amazingness have I just stumbled on? I hope every video you make is a variation on this theme, but even if they're not I'm excited. AAAAHHHHH LOVE THE DRUM CORPS PART
I really liked "power violence " and "Bosso Nova". Special mention: the Cute dance and Rocksteady of the "thank you and plz subscribe" part at the end.
Please do a full midwest emo version! That was really, really good. Extremely entertaining video :^)
If you ever do pt.2 imma need you to get some 70’s soul.
The skate punk one sounds really good! The world clearly needs that full cover.
This is the greatest thing ever. Please do more things like this! Keep up the good work, friend.
4:06 Umm, those triceps got me feeling some kind of way
this man and davie504 would form the ultimate meme combo
I love the classic, Toots and the Maytals / Skatalites approach in the thank you tune at the end. Dude, you're awesome.
Between video editing and special effects, laying down the individual track for each instrument and mixing I can't imagine how much time and work went into this masterpiece! Very well done!
Don’t know what bossa nova is but it was fire.
It’s a type of traditional Brazilian music.
SkaMasta097 huh, never would have guessed it.
Studio Ghibli was so excellent and unexpected.
Hats off, my friend, that is one awesome „cover“ version!! Thank you for sharing! 🤘🏻🤘🤘🏾🤘🏿👽✨
One of my favorite videos you've made all year!
@3:13 Joe Hisashi just ran out and bought his first Mighty Mighty Bosstones record because of this.
the DCI part needed someone yelling GO JENNIFER in the background
btw I marched Revolution in 2010, was their first ever synth player
Holy sheet this is my first video introduction into your channel and I am an immediate fan. Keep up the great work!
Man you are the BEST! this is pure gold like you!
The Impressions That I Get By Tiny Moving Parts
Everybody out here requesting full version of Midwest Emo but where's the full movement of that Drum Corps show you sampled?!? 😂😂
OMG this is so good!!!
The Drum Corps scene was hilarious, reminded me of marking time in marching band!
You are so damn talented. These were all so accurate and I laughed out loud during the R&B bit, because you even had the hands motions and leaning against a wall down pat.
