- The idea with this series is to have 10-15 minute videos (like VLOG of sorts) where I talk about some software related idea, experience, conversation etc.) This series is quite informal. I could be at home, on a walk, cycle or mortor cycle ride or on a hike etc.
Would you be interested in this short form content?
Shiv, I think the thing you bring to the table is well thought out ideas on software development topics - you challenge accepted norms and provoke thought. I dig that, and I'll participate in that sort of activity regardless of the format.
Thankyou Winston!
Fireside - Yes Please, that would be fantastic!
> Duck type
- If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck
> Why use Configuration Provider
- Abstraction, Testability, StrongTyping, Defaults/Optional settings
> Exception kinds
- Technical = No need to change the code, but exception is auto fixed. Ex: Service/DB down.,
- Business = Needs a code change or input data fix to actually fix the exception.
> Immutable DTO's
- Restrict the modifications while we pass the DTO between methods
- Thread-safe
> If the class is internal, then methods should be public (not internal again, because by default all the methods are already internal since the class is internal).
> Use a cache server only when data is of Key-value pair and not while indexing is required.
> Array has to allocate the memory in a continuous check thats why it will ask for the size well ahead at initialization
- 50 element array O(n) is quicker than Dictionary
.. more such I wish!
Thanks Netaji! I see you continue to take fantastic notes. Keep it up.
Yes. I like the in-formal talk.
Thanks Soumen!
short videos are good to watch between breaks during even working day.
Agreed!
Really excited to get most out of it, instead will not have to wait entire week to get some learning , All the best !!
I'll do my best Saurabh! Thank you for your response and confirmation.
Sounds incredible, I would love to broaden my horizons that way. A 30 minute video can be hard to take in one sitting unless specifically studying something, so 10-minute tidbits would be a great way to discover new things.
Once again, thank you so much for sharing all of this. It's incredibly valuable!
Thank you for your response and kind words Buttforce420. Much appreciated.
Very good! In my option (work for me) a good time to spend learn or listen some different topic is about 10 or 30 mimuntes per youtube video... But on the other hand there there is two type for me of videos when in the morning I'd like to see: a topic that I don't know and make me curious, 10 to 30 minutes... or a topic that I dont know in deep in 10 minutes will be easy to learn fast and maybe other timer find later..
I'm waiting for next videos!!!
Thank you for your perspective Allan. I'll take that into consideration.
Absolutely .. go for it.
Thank you for your response Rahul!
Yes, please!
Thank you Emmanuel , for taking the time to respond and letting me know.

Thank you Luke, for taking the time to respond. Much appreciated.
Definitely.. Go for it
Thank you Aamir
Sounds like a great idea
Thank you Avikal for taking the time to let me know. Much appreciated.
yes please, your insights are always valuable independent of formal or informal way of delivering them
Hamoud, thank you for your comment. Much appreciated.
Yes, absolutely
Thank you for your response
Hi Shiv,
Yes, do make technical blog videos.
Here are thoughts from someone who does more technical blogging than making searchable videos.
You may get less views on blogging videos than searchable content but it will create more strong connection between you and your community.
Cheers.
Vikas
Thank you for your feedback and Insight, Vikas. Much appreciated
Hi Shiv you made me change all my mind.
Also it should be better as well
Take care
Yes, please.
Thank you for your response Satyendra!
Definitely yes
Thanks for your response Himanshu
Shiv, yes please. It would help a follow-up video sometime later on some topics if it were not clear to some of the viewers.
Also we are super interested in your regular videos, where you dig deep into the topic and explain the pros and cons.😊
You have a good point about "follow up" videos Vinay. Essentially, the first part of this video was exactly that.
Yes Please. 🙂
Thank you for your response Suresh.
Yes, pls
Thank you for responding Venkat!
Whenever you feel like honestly... an informal can lead to a more formal depending on your feeling along with vote from the viewers. Oh, and I think you and I should have a live stream/session together too about various topics :)
That'll be fantastic! We should set something up!
yes
Thank you for your feedback and vote Dhiraj!
I'd enjoy vlogs as well, however please don't give up on your longer more detailed video. Complicated topics cant be covered in a short amount of time.
Thank you for your feedback and comment Arghs. Yes the long form videos will continue as usual.
