Nice one, this is BABYMETAL mixing Ska in with their Metal - and there is plenty of audience participation in this song from the clapping at the start to just joining in (the crowd knows what to do and when), especially with Yui's and Moa's parts. This would be somewhere in the middle of the set ... and generally they might play somewhere between 12 and 15 songs I think. Their longest sets may be about 90 minutes, when they are touring they will play an hour or just over, so they are short sets in comparison with many bands, but they are going flat out, nothing less than 100% for every song. I wouldn't last even half of one song Fortunately I don't have to listen to just one song 100 times in a row, I will put most of them to repeat them all one after the other and I can only think of maybe 5 or 6 that I would not put on repeat.🦊
_"Pippo pappo pippo pappo piii"_ 🦊🤘🔥 Welcome back to the Foxhole. YAVA! (actually Yabai!, It's a contraction) means like "oh no!" or when describing something dangerous or surprising. They're fusing ska genre and metal in a way no one did before, the cuteness and charming of these girls is unmatchable. The Kami Band intro in this one is super fun, Mikio Fujioka-sama (the guitarist) doing some magic here. (R.I.P.) It's a decent live compilation out there with footage of Five Fox Festival 2017 and mixing up with Big Fox Festival 2017, that was the last live performance for YuiMetal. They played this song several times with the new avengers system after YuiMetal left the group and more recently last March at Legend MM celebrating MomoMetal's 21 birthday at Yokohama Arena, only thing it was with the West Kami Band unlike this one. "Chigau" in the lyrics is the temporary title fans gave to this song when live premiere without knowing the song, the word means "different" and totally fits with the meaning of the song, this could be a song talking about them, you know the surprise factor of being different. Next suggestion to have some more fun and with another Kami Band intro: - Awadama Fever with Kami Band intro live at Fox Festival 2017. There's no general rule for the amount of songs in a BM setlist, it all depends whether is a live show under a festival, World Tour shows or headlining shows, between 7 - 10 for a festival (not this Five Fox Festival), 9 - 10 or 11 songs for a World Tour live show and more than 12 songs for headlining shows or main event (aka Legend). I got a lot of BM favorites songs i could put on repeat, and in general my favorite is the one I'm listening in that moment.😜 See you next time!🦊🤘 🔥
Can not say that I would listen to any song 100 times in a row. I will say that I listen to "Awadama Fever" every day.🤗 🦊 🖖❤ I have to change my statement. I realized that I could easily listen to Su sing "Monochrome" The First Take performance more than 100 times in a row.
I love this song. An eclectic and unique Ska-metal influenced song about “Oh no! ‘This is different’, what shall I do?!?! 😱” Good ol’ Babymetal taking a smart ass jab at those who can’t accept them for being different. Haha. 🤘🦊
Great reaction! The guitarist who played the first solo was Mikio Fujioka, who sadly passed away in 2018 due to an accident during an astronomical observation. Rest in peace wonderful guitarist Mikio Fujioka.
I never get tired of any BabyMetal song 😁 BabyMetal now they are officially 3 again perfom BabyMetal Death as the opening, song but the crowd don't need hyping we already hyped once the FoxGod Crew start setting up the equipment for BabyMetal after the opener performer 🤣🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Nice one, thanks! "YAVA!" is one of my favorite songs. For some reason, it looks like mixing ska with metal really worked for me. They have only performed it with the intro four times in 2017 during the four Kyodai Kitsune Matsuri (aka Big Fox Festival) shows and one last time in March 2024 at Legend MM. 😁 It was the fourth song at Big Fox Festival and the fifth at Legend MM (21 Night). 🤘🦊
This particular live package is in my top 5 for sure. Waiting with baited breath for my legend MM bluerays to arrive in 2 days, with the kami-band west interpretation of the song though!
I dont pick a favorite song when it comes to BabyMetal cuz it usually is the last song I listened too, and my top 3 list has about 20 songs in it cuz there are lots of ties.
👍 👍 How many in a set? Their longest set (such as an arena concert in Japan 90 minutes approximately 10 songs maybe? Festivals 5 to 6? World Tour 45 to 60 minutes 7 to 8 songs? Not an expert but just my guess.
Longest set: 17 at the SSE Wembley Arena (UK) in 2016 "Legend" type concerts: 14-15 Festivals and non headlining shows: 7-8 (they have performed 10-11 sets last month at European festivals, tho). Headlining shows: 11/12 (13 on tour finales 😁)
You asked how many songs during a set. During the show I went too in 2023 they co-headlined with Dethklok and still performed 11 songs + 1 Encore. And it was a mix of old/new.

👍Awesome, so much energy. BABYMETAL is timeless. Joy/Happiness never goes out of style. 🦊🦊🦊 🖖 ❤

I can say the same about Amore and Monochrome too haha.

"How many songs do Babymetal play in a set?" - Not enough.
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤔
This footage looks like it's all from their FOX FESTIVAL concerts in 2017.
'Yava!' was the fourth song in the set.
Great reaction!
The guitarist who played the first solo was Mikio Fujioka, who sadly passed away in 2018 due to an accident during an astronomical observation. Rest in peace wonderful guitarist Mikio Fujioka.
May want to check out their just released

Awesome 🎸solo❣ R.I.P.「MIKIO FUJIOKA」😭 🍅😇❤🦊🤘
I just read about that, so sad

Totally agree 👌🤣
I like Akatsuki personally, hearing the unfinished version made me like it even more.
👍 👍

No, they've never opened a show with Yava. Their concert sets are usually around 14-16 songs and they definitely mix older songs with newer songs.
wwooo 14 songs seems like a lot

Wooo thats a lengthy show!
