I think you should change to I’m so hungry I could eat at Outback
When ur eating a tougher cut like top sirloin always cut against the grains in the meat and keep ur slices very thin. This will make the meat much more tender.

Great review. I couldn't agree more. My wife and I avoid Outback like the plague. I realize the prices are reasonable, but the quality is horrific.

As a sub to your channel, I really appreciate that you both maintain a positive outlook when things are obviously amiss with the presentation or construction of the dishes, no Au Jus, broccoli with no butter sauce, a knife through the bread service. Yes easy to be critical but you both smile and let your viewers decide if or if not acceptable. Thank you for this.

We ate at Outback just last week. I got the Alice Springs chicken and it was stringy, dry and the mushrooms on top were rubbery. I should have just went with a margaritas. Probably won't go back for awhile.

Crazy how expensive that 5 oz steak is. I can get almost 3 pounds of sirloin for $14 from a local meat store.

Hey Derek, I used to work at outback and they whip their own butters and for the veggies they add a vegetable seasoning to the butter and then add a scoop of the butter in each portion. Ask for your veggies with plain butter.
With that price you can get a nice ribeye at the store. Nothing worse than getting a chewy piece of steak.
Frozen margaritas are the best either lime or strawberry yummy ❤️ enjoy your videos thanks for sharing

Our Outback went out of business several years ago. So if you want a steak. You have to go to Safeway and grill it yourself.:(

All things being equal, I would put Outback last amongst Longhorn and Texas Roadhouse. As Derrick said everything at Outback is too salty and the quality is not what it was 15 years ago.

That’s a pass on Outback. We quit going there years ago, everything was mediocre at best. We had that prime rib sandwich, ours were terrible.

At least part of the reason the steak is tough is that you're cutting it incorreclty. Against the grain and on the bias will yield a more tender bite.
Your steak was USDA Select instead of the more tender but more expensive USDA Choice.
Hi you-all. Just a little note. Cut all your meat against the grain, every time. More tender. Always make sure the meat you are given, is against the grain, at all times. I believe you, you said it was tough. You know , not to go back, unless they change hands. Live you guys! Thanks! Hope I get to make it to Vegas one day. Good day! And God bless.
I agree with Tony K it's the way one cuts a steak that matters. Cutting chunks and slices with the grain produces a tough and disappointed meal experience.
Chewy is still chewy. It’s an inferior steak.

It looks like Outback is losing the war on quality vs. pricing. Catherine's sandwich does not look toasted. Presentation was lacking. Love you two and all the content you share. Thank you!
I personally am not an outback person, but the food didn’t look that great and I will say the steak was chewy and was of low quality because let’s face it sirloin steaks are like leather and they’re cheaply priced so bottom line is you get what you pay for other than that Catherine’s prime rib sandwich looked OK but the bun was in toasted and they forgot her as you, so the food wasn’t that great and the service was really poor cell I’m not going to outback soon that’s for sure I would go if I was on a main interstate highway and there was no other place in sight but now back then I would go other than that it’s great to see these videos from your channel, you’ll learn where to go, and you’ll learn where not to go Again, thank you both Derek and Catherine you do a great job.
My margarita is always on the rocks with a salted rim. I enjoy the outback.

The broccoli is the best looking thing on the plates. The steak looked choice and it wasn't aged at all. Something you get off the supermarket shelf.

We rarely dine at chains like that but there was only one place where I liked the inexpensive steak - Applebee's. It's been a few years since I've been to an Outback but I do recall the ribeye being very tender and tasty.

Have you never heard the phrase: "You get what you pay for"? LOLOL We ALWAYS get the ribeye.....everywhere. Although we have gotten stung occasionally on that, too. Ya never know.....

I can tell in the beginning of the video that you don't have high expectations of the Outback experience.

I watched your vlog when you went to Texas Roadhouse and you ordered their cheapest steak, which was sirloin too. Apparently you don’t like sirloin! Ha. I thought that since you were over at Outback Steakhouse, it would have been more tender. I think it is the way they cut it and that is just the nature of that cut. Are there any other chain steakhouses in your area that you could compare these two steakhouses with that offer a lunch size sirloin? Maybe that could be another restaurant on your list. Will be really interested in seeing it !!

Hi Catherine. I like blended margaritas the best. And I think why they didn't put salt on the rim of your mango margarita is because that is a lemon/lime thing to do. Usually you don't eat salt with mangoes. My best guess...

It's probably a _Select_ graded steak and it looked a little overcooked too, which will also make it tougher. The dip sandwich looked really tasty though!

I've always been a fan of Outback.
I worked at Outback from 2008-2012 back when they made everything from scratch. It has gone down significantly since then and almost everything is frozen now.
Outback is Sizzlers without the salad bar.
Okay I will go with the "sage" advice of Katherine and go with the "French Dip". Have tried Outback Steakhouse in H.K. and I enjoyed it. However I had filet....sorry! As for 14.99 " steak considering rising food costs the price works for many....sad. Thank you both enjoyed your honest opinion. It's why I subscribe.
I haven't been to Outback in years but use to love Applebees strip steak with steamed vegetables for $6.97 and it was a 10 ounce steak. Great flavor ! I use to order two at at time because one was just not enough. Good video, guys ! 😀

That steak, what the heck…it even looked weird 😳 and it looked to me like from the beginning, they did NOT toast that bun. 🫤 Whole thing left a bad taste in MY mouth!🤣😂. Thanks guys 👍. Oh and I like my margarita on ice…THAT looked so good. 🤗

My last visit to outback was 7 years ago, the steaks are below average and the place felt dated and greasy. Needless to say I haven't been back, for a little more there's Longhorn, not the best but a notch above that wingtip sole you were fighting with.
The margarita on the rocks should have a salt rim.
What's up with the knife through the bread?
That sandwich looked pretty good. I think it might have looked a little skimpy on the plate because there was that big corner spot that didn’t have anything on it. The steak seemed a little or”less” good. But it’s not a high end steakhouse 😮

I love Outback Steakhouse. We get great steaks at the one we go to in El Paso, TX. Maybe try it at another location and see if it is better.
Margaritas, depends on my mood. If I want to drink it slowly then frozen works, otherwise on the rocks is good.

Many years ago Outback wasn't too bad but it seems to have gotten worse recently. I used to love their cream of onion soup and the crab legs but they quit carrying both of them. The rest of the food they can keep.

When the prime rib sandwich came to the table Derek u said it was small. It was the best thing on the table. Momma always told me u get what u pay for.
In hate that a lot of the chain restaurants all offer steamed broccoli. They do it because it's cheap, but it also shows a 'lack of imagination' for food pairings.
