"The American Buffalo," a new two-part, four-hour series from filmmaker Ken Burns, takes viewers on a journey through more than 10,000 years of North American history and across some of the continent’s most iconic landscapes, tracing the animal’s evolution, significance to the Great Plains, near demise, and relationship to the Indigenous People of North America.
Burns joins Rosalyn LaPier (Blackfeet Tribe of Montana and Métis) and Rocky Mountain PBS' Kate Perdoni live in Denver for a screening and conversation at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House.

As an avid supporter of Rocky Mountain PBS, I want to thank you for posting this wonderful presentation by Ken Burns on his upcoming documentary, THE AMERICAN BUFFALO. I was unable to attend in person, so I greatly appreciate being able to view it online. THANK YOU!!
This was a great evening at Ellie Caulkins…thank you RMPBS !!🙌 Looking forward to the premiere of another unforgettable Ken Burns documentary 💫
One of the most felt and Beautiful programs/shows I have ever had the pleasure of hearing!!! Thank you so much!!!
Can't wait for this new doc. Ken Burns is a genius!!
I sit here in tears of joy? or gratitude? as I witness the return of our brother Buffalo and the recognition and respect that is being payed to my people. The Creator of All There Is is truly kind and gracious.
I was at the theater in Denver on the night of August 24th. The presentation was excellent, but I had trouble hearing Ken Burns and the ladies onstage. So it is wonderful that Rocky Mountain PBS recorded the conversation and put it on RUclips.
American Buffalo is another great Doc in a long line of Docs by the great Ken Burns.
Looking forward to another likely great Ken Burns documentary. But, I found this interview distracted by the Hosts continues head bobbing & rocking
really interesting conversation, and such an important topic, but this would be much improved by actually listing Rosalyn LaPier's name in the program description, since she is one of three speakers on the stage in this program.
Ken mentions at 19:15 a RUclips clip by Maryland teacher Katerina Matrone (sp?) -- I can't find it; can anyone correct my spelling or give a link?
Sounds like Matrow
