would love to see a vid on receiver tab (throttle mid) (throttle expo) (rc rate) (rc expo). i know you all are busy but from a nubs point of view this is a need to know. THANKS so much for all the hard work you all are putting in to cleanflight.
Tom, thanks for your answer. I have since found a "Bootleg" video and recovered both boards. Second, I could not get the aux channels to respond on receiver on Cleanflight. I have never used a computer TX. I go back 40 years to 4 channel Kraft TX (best you could buy}. Bought a "Pattern Plane" to learn on (fast). After that, became a trainer. But this new technology for a 70 year old-- tough. Building my first racing drone-- speed. Aux channels just needed to be plugged in to the receiver. Keep it simple "Son", there are old farts like me all over.
I appreciate the info. I got bored and decided to start messing with my quad and completely cleared out everything by doing a reset on accident. not really knowing what I was doing this has helped me and trying to figure everything back out. Hopefully I will be able to program my FlySky back with my Arris
Great video. Only thing I don't understand is if I have the acro as opposed to the full version Naze, can I still get horizon mode? Also can you explain how to select the ranges on the modes. I don't understand how or why you choose particular values. Thank you for your time.
nice video thomas shue what type of quad ar you using ? i just got the nighthawk 280 pro but cant set it up in baseflight and up and running and a few people told me to flash it with cleanflight can you or anyone here give me some advice on this please
+Chad Cole It looks like it's just the same as when doing the other modes, he has it on a two position switch AUX2 and you just set the slider in the range that you want it on/off. Good idea for having that set up though!
It would be nice if you showed how you can add 2 modes together on one switch. For instance, switch position 1, Acro mode. Switch position 2, Angle mode. Switch position 3, Angle AND Barometer mode.
Hi thomas... I need some help. My AETR channels 1-4 are fine and shows activity under the "Receiver" tab... but my AUX 1234 switches are not responding at all... they are frozen at 1500 value.. My switch assignment on my TX is fine but this problem has got me pretty bummed out... Am I missing something here?
yea dog i know its a year later but you have to increase your flaps value so it will change your value on cleanflight or now betaflight when you hit the switch
No when you program in the flaps switch there is an option give a value to flaps, it determines the throw the flaps have when enabled thus making the switch have a different signal when you push it so that you can use it as aux
Ah! I'm using Taranis. Traditionally Ch5 and 6 are Flaps and Gear but on Taranis we often name them Aux1 and Aux2. I'm still having same problem as shakir sharky. AETR Ch1234 work but Ch567... don't.
can you explain auto tune plz.Was not onto how you to use switches on my controller, you just made it so simple.i was scared to plug my quad into clean flight, now i'm going to have a go see what happens. fingers crossed ;)
you wouldn't happen to know how to set up the GPS in the new SP racing F3 Deluxe would you? I'm very new at this and I'm trying to set everything up I just got my LSD working and my copter flying straight but would like to get the GPS working so I bought the SP racing F3 10dof the Lux flight controller with GPS module and OSd module
Hi, im having a little problem and i cant fgure it out. I have gps on the board and its working fine but on the flight mode setup when i want to enable the GPS hold or GPS Return to home it always stays red. ive tried assigning to diferent switches, values and nothing always red. Can you help me with this i would really apreciate it! thanks
question... I set my arming switch with my taranis and moved the the range to the appropriate area.. now when i flip the switch the yellow tab lands in my assigned range but the color of the tab still remains red and doesnt switch to green to let me know its set... the quad does arm but in the program it shows like it isn't not working.. is this going to be a problem..
Sir, I am building my first racing drone, and I have a question that may sound silly-- for me, three weeks of trying everything I know to solve the problem. I even waited for a second naz 32 board. Both are full version Naz 32 boards. At first they hooked up-- then problems arming. I tried to load another board firmware-- Only blue light, no flash, no connect. I went to drivers-- working properly. I tried rescue-- kept saying the board was not connected-- timed out. I am stuck with 2 new boards that have never flown. I can not afford another board-- they are $29 each. Is there any help? Any ideas? I would hate to buy an ARF version because I am Stupid!
Bud Jones same thing happened to me bud it seems i had to power from the battery and the usb after first upgrade try plugging in the battery as well as the usb to power it when configuring
hello and thank you for what you do, when i go to modes my only options are " arm, beeper, osd, and autotune" no angle, headfree, horizon, est. any ideas? many thanks
+Scott Y You need to use the nightly build of Cleanflight. You probably have the rev6. stable build doesn't work. easy fix get the hex online and it will work
+Eric Agar You need to use the nightly build of Cleanflight. You probably have the rev6. stable build doesn't work. easy fix get the hex online and it will work
I have the New Jumper 260 Plus Naze32 flight control system, 32bit ARM micro processor for fast speed and fast response . I'm using a spectrum DX 9 I am using a three position switch can I use Angle Mode , Horizon Mode, HEADFREE Mode ?I do not have Baro Mode. Dose HEADFREE work by is self?
What sorcery is needed to assign a switch to a channel on a DX6? I feel as if I am taking crazy pills. The buzzer I installed I would like it to simply sound when I switch the back right toggle. IS THIS TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR?@+!?!?!
+MMX2 It sounds like you need to need to trim your ACC. You do this by flying it, finding which direction it's going, land and DISARM the motors. Then you push full up on throttle (AFTER MOTORS ARE DISARMED) and then push your right stick in the opposite direction of the drift. Rearm motors, get it into a hover and see if it corrects it. Some times you have to do it several times to get it in a solid hover. You can also hold the right stick in the direction for +1sec and it will make larger adjustments.
Great video, Tom! I think you're the only one that has explained all of these modes. Very, very helpful! Thank you.Jerry
Thank you so much Thomas. You are very informative and concise with your instructions. Much appreciation. How could 8 people not like this video?

Excellent video man,Clear and concise ,one of the best i have seen.

GREAT video man!! This is the simplest video I've found yet. Thanks for all the great info!
It was suffering much , thanks to you , has been resolved . Thank you very much.
Thanks for the video bro. That's was the information I needed for RaceFlight.

This video was exactly what I needed. I'm ready to go fly now. Thanks!
Seriously!! Just getting this sorted.
What a great help this is, thank's!!
Simplelest and best video I've found.
Amen. I've been wondering if there was a mode for self leveling. 😃👍🏼
Hi Thomas, Real great video but where do the wires go to and from on the reciever for specktrum cleanflight sp f3 arming,
this is a nice video. I finally understand the switches.
Great video. Only thing I don't understand is if I have the acro as opposed to the full version Naze, can I still get horizon mode? Also can you explain how to select the ranges on the modes. I don't understand how or why you choose particular values. Thank you for your time.
You don't have to tighten the range ups as you are, the default range is 33% of the range so it's perfect for a 3 position switch.
Thank you for your explanation on modes.!
nice video thomas shue what type of quad ar you using ? i just got the nighthawk 280 pro but cant set it up in baseflight and up and running and a few people told me to flash it with cleanflight can you or anyone here give me some advice on this please
Hey, Nice job. So nice to see the on screen examples. A good concise explanation without a lot of chatter like that painfull360 brit.
Alkiterman thanks for the kind words
This was very helpful, Im a noob and just learning this stuff.
@thomas shue what are those nomber that are on the slider for?? what does it do? do it controls any sensitivity?
Can you do a video setting up failsafe using the CLI commands?
Thank you.O nice video keep the videos Rolling
Thomas How do I output PWM signal for M5 pin on side to control my Red Rotor Aux functions?
Thx Bryan
Hey Tom, how do I go about setting up the alarm mode on a switch in case I can't find it if the quad goes down?
+Chad Cole It looks like it's just the same as when doing the other modes, he has it on a two position switch AUX2 and you just set the slider in the range that you want it on/off. Good idea for having that set up though!

Thank you, this helped me a lot! I didn't know how to switch into Acro. I guess it was easier then I thought, lol.
Glad I could help. T
can i use the self-leveling mode on every DIY race quad?
Excellent video, thanks!
I have a 2 position FM switch.. How do i setup Stick arming in cleanflight ? ( yaw right and left) ?
Hello Thomas,
I set in my Hermit FPV the horizon mode however I cannot do flips and rolls do you have any idea why ??
Thanks in advance.
thanks man, you help me a lot!

Spektrum dx6i and turning 9x are all I use so forgive me if yours or others may be different

Any idea why motor arming doesn't work when its in the middle? it doesn't go green like horizon does
can you explain auto tune plz.Was not onto how you to use switches on my controller, you just made it so simple.i was scared to plug my quad into clean flight, now i'm going to have a go see what happens. fingers crossed ;)
im having a problem where one of my aux switches is setup for throttle. how do i set up my receiver to work with cleanflight
There is NO max_angle in manual/acro/rate mode!!!
awesome!
What! I'm confused, isn't manual/acro mode will let you do anything? Because you're in full control.
good easy to understand help. thanks

I thought manual mode allowed you fill control meaning you can flip it but you have to also manually level it?
Derrick Mitchell It means you have to manually fly the craft. it will not level up by itself.

sam lubinsky You must "Save" your mode settings to turn the block green.
Excellent thanks.

the mag is whats used for headfree, you have to set it up with a switch.
What sorcery is needed to assign a switch to a channel on a DX6?

my switches dont work on cleanflight but work on baseflight
thank you for the info
Can i make 3 flight modes whit naze 32????? i want acro, angle and horizon mode?
yes
Can you do one for arming please
ty fast info
does anyone know why when i am in horizon mode the quad wants to fly backwards constantly
