William Withew Fenn pursued a successful career as a landscape painter until at the age of 25 he lost his sight . He then turned to writing short stories for magazines . He published a collection : Woven in Darkness ( 1885 ) but like so many other Victorians he's forgotten today . He passed away in 1906 .
I always enjoy your content. You are the only non-British narrator I listen to. Thank you for sharing these older gems with us! Looking forward to more in 2022😊
That was fun.Gratifying to know narrator owned up to his discovery.Thank you ! There is a very terrifying story that I heard or read some time ago, Windy. I do not remember if it was your work or not .The usual setting - man drives a crummy road late at dusk to a malevolent house which quickly locks him in . But the mood and the brevity of this story are so frightening I believe my brain has actually blocked the writer’s name and that of the short story as well. Might you know as to what I’m referring? Or anyone else out there ?
Oh, I would love to recover some old Spanish gold coins, but would not care to have a ghost try to repeatedly get into my room while I slept. I am not as intrepid as the protagonist. I would be too busy with my duvet over my head to notice where a ghost went😂.
I really like the opening music and Windy’s melodious yet playful tones, like listening to a friend on a dark rainy night😊👍

Sounds like a short story by Tony Walker.
