Love this! With the two most significant internships I had in undergrad, I created them for myself! I started with knowing my skills, knowing what I could do for the organization I wanted to work with, and pitching myself as the person who could get the job done for them!
Thank you so much! I watched dozens of internship videos but none of them helped me. After watching yours I called a specific company that didn’t have an internship listed but, turns out, they facilitated a program every year. Now as a rising high school senior I have a summer internship at a publishing/magazine company. Thanks again!!!
Youre amazing! feeling a little down lately because either no one is replying to my emails or I get rejected through online applications, your videos are helping me a lot! thankssss
Thanks for your kind words! I know this is a tough time, but stick with it. It's obvious that you care about learning and improving if you're watching videos like these. Let me know if there are other topics you'd like to see videos on and I can add them to the list!
Loving all of your videos! I’ve been struggling on where and how to look for my first internship. Your guide really motivated me to be more outgoing and get that opportunity and start on building my career! I totally agree on how nothing will happen if I DON’T ASK. Keep your great work on these videos 👏👏❤️
So glad you are loving the channel - thanks for letting me know! And I love that you are feeling more motivated now to go after some new opportunities!!
I honestly rarely comment on RUclips videos, however, this was great advice, thank you very much. In my case, I'm a Computer Science student studying part time with an online university, the company that I wanted to apply for offers internships only in the summer, but I'm ready for one in September, which is technically late. So let's try this. Thanks
I really like videos and chanels like this! I however get stuck on the deeper parts, like how to sell yourself, as a student if you have 0 work experience. Only a passion for the subject or company etc. I mean, "I want to intern here because I love this company so much", well.. I guess one sooner or later needs a carrier coach or something that can tailor things more precisely:/
Thanks for watching! 😊 Coaches can definitely help you gain clarity and take the right action steps. I'll be releasing new ways you can work with me in 2021...if you're interested in learning more, you can sign up for my email newsletter and be the first to find out: theinternhustle.com/interninspo
Thank you so much for your information but believe me In India, Specially in Maharashtra this won't be the scenario. Experience------ I asked for an Internship most politely and after that the next Respected person just Said " Ohk now done with your $@#$@&&@ " and he just hung up. I was in shock and of course as a fresher that was hurtful.
You're not going to have success with every person you reach out to, and unfortunately not everyone handles these things in the most professional way. As a rule of thumb, always find ways that you can add value to them first, build the relationship before making the ask. It's a long game.
How about internships for college freshman's? All the internships that my kids look into are for junior/senior college students. Can't seem to find any that will accept college freshman's .
hi thank you so much and i have been applying since October but no luck can you please give me advise and if i can still get a internship for summer 2024
Hello Jenna, I have a question for you. Is it appropriate to ask for an internship in a foreign country with the current unpredictable mobility situation?
I wish I had a crystal ball so that I could predict how all of this will play out, but I don't. If you're interested in getting internship experience with a specific company (no matter where they are located), then my advice is to pitch the value that you can provide to them as a remote worker. Companies are a lot more open to remote opportunities these days, so if you can make a strong case for why they should take a chance on you, then go for it. Be open to alternatives.
I don't know the specific opportunities available at your company, but schedule a meeting with HR to see what your options are. Show up prepared, with some clarity on what you are wanting to do in order to make it a good use of time!
Thanks for making this video, It is very informative. I just wanted to ask about the creation of job description concept. So, let's say I create the job description, what do I do with it? Do I present it during the informational interview to the decision maker or, put it in an email?
