My favorite running joke is him trying to tell his backstory but all the goons die before he can finish 😂
That scene with the tattoo on the wrist and the old veteran's reaction to it was one of the greatest "show don't tell" moments I have ever seen put on film. That one short scene tells you more than what words can convey by themselves and sets the tone for the rest of the movie brilliantly.
"He's not really John Wick!" - No. He's... Nobody!
Not too bad for a 58 year old comedic actor who had a heart attack afterward. He attributes his survival of the heart attack to the training he underwent through for this film.
Some HOAs actually won't let you take the trash out the night before. Seriously. HOAs are absolute scum. Dude, I never knew how much I needed to see Christopher Lloyd working a pump action shotgun like a boss. My life feels complete. Bob Odenkirk was an absolutely inspired bit of casting here. Talk about a guy who just screams, "average nobody." The kind of guy you wouldn't even notice on the street. He would leave zero impression. Such a fun flick.
Nobody and Wick might be the same universe. They might do a crossover one day, but it is said, if it happens, they will probably just walk by each other nodding in recognition.
As you may know Hutch used the fact that his daughter said they "stole" the kitty cat bracelet was just his excuse to un;eash years of bent up aggression, as he said he over compensated trying to have the "ordinary" like he wanted. Awesome reaction
When the wife and I watched this movie we were pleasantly surprised that it was shot in our own backyard here in Winnipeg. The bar they used is on Main Street. Loved it.

When I saw this film last year it was such a pleasant surprise. It was nothing like what I expected to see the star of Better Call Saul in. What a fun ( and funny) movie. They are supposed to be working on a part two. It was set back slightly when Bob Odenkirk had a heart attack last year but it is sposed to still be moving forward.

Hutch was the guy sent to account for assets when projects were shut down.
Also, his dad is Christopher Lloyd, and his Father in law is played by Michael Ironside

also alot of the same people who made this made John Wick and they have said this takes place in the same world as John Wick and a crossover could be possible if they were able to work out a story that made sense.

Somewhat counter-intuitively, while it is true that any ammunition that is a good choice for stopping a threat will go through multiple interior walls, small fast bullets like 5.56mm (which is what the SIG 552s the hit team were using are chambered in) dump velocity MUCH faster than typical pistol or shot ammunition does, when going through walls. Soon as I saw the title on your channel I had a feeling you'd love this one. I did too. So unassuming, just a nobody at first glance. I'd love to see more but sometimes sequels mess up a great premise. If there is no more it'll be a great standalone movie.
Unless you live in a VERY SMALL PLACE getting A cat won’t make you smell like anything. Now if you have like an average size American home you’d need AT LEAST like 6 cats to “smell like you have cats!”

I live in the country. I feed more cats than you can imagine. None of them come in my house. They do control mice. Lifesavers when you’re surrounded on three sides by wheat fields. Excuse me. One canola field and two wheat fields. I feed bunnies and birds and whatever wanders up. Not to mention my horses.

Cop: You know, if that was my family, I would have started beating on the thieves in front of my children until their disfigured corpses would become unrecognizable to the naked human eye, then I would wait for my coworkers to arrive on the scene and clear me of any wrongdoing. The department would have my back and I would avoid prison or any serious punishment regardless of circumstance. Cops always get off easy, y'know. But that's just me. Gonna get out of your hair now...
A movie which is worth seeing, not the greatest, but still has some things which might have inspired this, is Real Men.

-First and foremost, THANK YOU for going into this blind! I saw it in the theatre with an idea and the comparison to and knowledge that it was from the same people behind John Wick, which I have loved. (Two weeks to Chapter 4!) Even so, I spent most of the movie with jaw on the floor, a smile on my face, and tears of joy in my eyes.
-87 North, which is who’s behind this, have become the kings of action movies. They did Bullet Train, which I saw the trailer for and was interested. When I went to the theatre to see it and saw they did it, I was like,”OH, HELL YEAH!” The same with Violent Night. I heard everyone put it over big but didn’t see it in the theatre. I halfheartedly decided to watch it on BluRay. As soon as the 87 North intro came on, I was IMMEDIATELY invested before the first scene.
-They followed the John Wick formula but made enough changes to make it its own movie. With John Wick, John’s problems are over the death of his wife. In Nobody, Hutch’s problems are with how humdrum his life has become which is because of, as he said in the basement, over correcting in order to get the life he was jealous of Alan over.
-I liked how, in the bus scene, Hutch took some shots early as compared to that first fight scene with Viggo’s guys in John Wick. While I loved the 1st John Wick, the fact that he was able get back as quickly as he did into being Baba Yaga after time away struck me as weird especially against twelve guys with each possessing a number of weapons. To have Hutch take as much damage as he did, you knew that he’d been rusty.
-I am a huge fan of one camera scenes like the introduction of Yulian. In Spiderman: NWH, there was the scene in the apartment. Another great one is the stairway fight in Atomic Blonde, which included the guy who got his teeth destroyed on the bus.
-Knowing what I knew, as soon as I saw the neighbor’s car, I knew that was getting used.
-Speaking of that car, I loved how the soundtrack wasn’t your standard action movie soundtrack. You didn’t have scenes filled with Hard Rock or Metal. It punched up the use of “Heartbreaker” by Pat Benatar, which is awesome in itself, during the car chase. Brilliant.
-Christopher Lloyd as an action star in 2021 is something I never thought I’d see in 1986 in Back To The Future, 1989 in Back To The Future 2 and The Dream Team, or 1990 in Back to the Future 3. Here we are 30+ years later and he’s shooting guys with a shotgun in a nursing home. Then, there’s another part but that’s another topic.
-Watching the warehouse scene was like a combination of Home Alone and the end of the weekly A-Team show. Whether it was the settings up of the traps or everything happening. Part of me wanted Hutch to pull out a cigar and say, “I love it when a plan comes together.”
-Finally, the end credits scene. Christopher Lloyd and RZA driving to Mexico in a motor home with a whole bunch of guns. GIVE….ME…..THAT….MOVIE! I was in the theatre and fell back in my seat mouthing,”Please let that happen!”

Well I have _once_ smelled a pretty stereotypical "cat lady"... Over a dozen cats in not terrible, but far from good living conditions. I have also smelled an appartement with two cats after three days of neglect.
However, I've known over half a dozen people so far who keep 1-2 cats in decent to good living conditions and take care of them. No weird smells except for _maybe_ the area around the litter boxes (or, if there's only litter boxes in one small room, that room).
Of course it could be that your nose is a good bit more sensitive than mine, but seriously, _any_ pet can smell, be it dogs, birds, bunnyrabbits, ... Cats aren't (necessarily) worse than any other pet in that regard.
Same writer as John Wick, also said that this movie and John Wick are the same universe.

. Cats themselves are the cleanest of animals, just keep the litterbox clean and there will be NO smell. Their furr actually easily takes the smell of the environment. My cat smells like fresh laundry. 😊.
I love dogs too , but their smell 😖 ....especially when wet 🤮. .
I liked this waaaaay better than John Wick. Hutch isn’t a an invincible character and Odenkirk can actually ACT.

21:00 Obviously the movie has a lot of implausible things ... because Hutch SHOULD BE in hospital too from having a medium-sized knife in his stomach/side. That would need a while to mend, but it is "a few days" after the "bus stop" when the home invasion takes place.
This movie is like if John Wick's wife hadn't died, they'd started a family, and John has a midlife crisis.

They probably won’t make a sequel unfortunately. Bob Odenkirk had a heart attack or something soon after filming this, apparently he’s not in the best of health, plus he’s 60 years old lol
He actually credited the intense physical training he did for this film as being the primary reason he survived his subsequent massive CI. This movie literally saved his life and allowed him to recuperate. (Also, throwing a “lol” at the end of a post about someone having a heart attack seems a bit crass to me, just sayin…)

I have a cat and I DO NOT smell like a cat person. The cat is not allowed on me, on counters, chairs, furniture. My cat is a floor cat with its own room that it is locked away in at night and when I’m away.

As someone who is deathly allergic to cats...with all the allergy medicine there is, cats KNOW when you can't get near them. They decide to rub themselves all over your legs, lap, etc as you try to avoid tf out of them. So I instead just don't go to anyone's house if they have cats. My entire 41 years of life, cats just want to rub on me. As a kid, it was nice to pet them and wash my hands, hoping I wouldn't require an ER visit because of yet another a$$hole cat.
