Thanks for posting this! I was trying to get a 3d image of a model of mine yesterday and halfway through is when I discovered the polycam lidar vs photo option setting. duh! Helped a ton. My model is huge, though. 3 feet tall and multiple pieces. It was quite hard to get all the angles, and back and under sides etc, but it came out not too bad. Will watch to the end, but just in case, do you have any info on what types of file formats to use and what each usage is?

Can you please make a tutorial video on how to make a 2d building drawing into 3d in autocad? Your videos are awesome

Great video! Very useful information. Question, in lidar mode they suggest not to capture too much of an area you have already scanned. In the photo capture mode, can you make a second pass around the subject to capture more images for greater detail or will it mess up the capture?

Hi there. Thanks for the walk through.
I’m having a little trouble using photo mode and I see you have had the same problem. The photo mode seams to separate the textures from the model. Meaning the model loses its depth and texture when exported as an STL (as a atlas holds no colour info). If you export it as a GLTF you get a full scan but I don’t know how to combine the texture in to the model to print. I’ll use any package you can think of that might help. ❤

Great explanation! I have a question, I'd like to use Illustrator to get just one side of a scan, my output would be sending it to a sticker printing machine, how would you do it? I mean there's the size measurements too

I tried to do the same exact thing. I don't know if you can help. I used kira. I have an artillery printer. I did a 3D scan, put it in the Kira. It looks exactly like your head. But once the print printed, it only printed. the support system and at 100% it stopped And I have no model printed on top of the supports. It's just supports .
